Happened to me recently at a cousin's wedding.

Why where you invited at initial place, is it not to come and eat? Obviously, some organizers do that deliberate, especially when you're not that important to them, they stave you of food.

I once went to an occasion brought the biggest gift In the wedding.

But rice, I no see talkless of bottle water.

To me if u are going to occasion with the intention of eating, just forget spraying of money or giving any gift. Just go there with that intention eat ur food thank d celebrant then give him the thing u have for him then go.


U can't go to an occasion spray 10k or more and be begging the people sharing food that u have not eaten, simply just go greet the celebrant carry ur 10k go any fast food chop to your fill and thank me later

It makes one feel like a social misfit. Like you're irrelevant. Like you weren't invited sef, if you were truly invited they would have given you food.

And worst is I hate going to meet those servers. Haa, I'd rather return hungry, go and buy bread and moimoi or something than to go and meet a waiter especially the ladies among them. Their words are worse than snipper.

I remembered when I went for an occasion and was not given food. It took me time to forget that pain ooh!!. Then I was young, so my elder sister gave me the meat she was chewing inside her mouth since I didn't get my own food.

Well, I eat before stepping out so incase I don't get to eat at the event, I won't be so pained coz I'm not hungry. Also having some little money to buy yourself food and drinks is a good idea. The rest is history.

I hate to see young people unserved because food is their main reason for coming. Unfortunately, parties have taken many turns. Parties to collect money, to sell uniforms, to show off without the means like weddings.

As you get older, some do not eat at parties, they may drink water. These days, like Church, Mosque or other ceremonies, they give take-away.

I once read about how a guy solved the lack of attention. He called one of the younger servers, tipped her and complimented her dress. All the people on his table got served!

weda u eat or not, if you didn't get that occasion food eh, there's this embarrassment that follows it that cannot be explain even if u eat exact same food before coming for the occasion.

I remembered one vividly while working then in Akure. There was this big man who was an associate of my boss, his daughter's wedding. My boss said we should go, I told him I was not going. After mounting so much pressure on me, I decided to follow him. On getting to the reception venue, I had to park the car. I got to the venue entrance, Mopol did not grant me access asking for my IV. My boss was already inside and his phone was in my custody. After plenty grammar and showing my ID, I was allowed entry. Them share food...e no reach me, only got their water..damn!!! it was really embarrassing.... I was blazing with rage not because of their food but the trouble I went through with the Police folks before entering the place. I gave my boss strong words after that....I sure know how it feels.

I don't think I have attended any party I wasn't served food. I am somehow shy in nature, so before I attend any party that means it's someone am very close to and there is no way I wouldn't be served food.
