The common similar between the two is that they are both done after a first degree. In brief, a PBD can easily pave a switch to another area or field of study and can as well use to support a weak first degree.

A PGC can be done to acquire an academic knowledge/certificate in a developing or new professional interest line.

For more info, you can google.

The 20 months program is equivalent to 2yrs. Most programs in some/almost all schools runs for 8 months making it 16 months for a 2yrs program. This qualify you for a 3yr PGWP.

If you have submitted all the documents asked by the school then you just have to be patient and pray you get accepted for the applied program. Also, schools have deadlines for admission and they will start sending out offer letters after the deadline. Check the school's website to know everything about their admission processing timeframe.

I also applied to MUN and they said I should provide either TEOFL or IELTS and I didn't make provision for writing any of the tests. I just sent a mail to the school about the possibility of waiving it for me.
Please I will like to know if it is possible for MUN to waive English proficiency for Nigerian applicants.

He's considering immigrating to Canada/USA not on a study grounds since it's expensive.
I'm asking on his behalf, are they cheaper means to immigrate legally to Canada and start hustling up the system? He read Management Studies. Graduated August Last year.

We were considering for him to go to Dubai and work to raise some capital maybe for school in Canada but his age, and we heard Dubai doesn't pay that much so he may not meet the financial mark in time.

Please i need all possible options for him, and he intends to leave this year. Or would you recommend a different country?
Although Canada has his heart ❤️.

Do well to access it via a PC. You can use a Google Chrome, Internet Explore, or Mozilla Fire Fox brower to surf IRCC site for the IMM form page. If there, click on the specific file to open, download, and save the file. Also, endeavour to have an updated Adobe fille viewer either the Adobe Reader 11, Adobe Acrobat Reader or other higher version.

Then leave the browser area, open the Adobe Reader and search for the downloaded IMM form and open.

Mention me if you still find difficulty with it.

Yes, its very possible. Not only does it shows a tie but present that you are engaged economically. In fact, it would be helpful to your application if you can satisfy/convince the VO on/that;

1. the generated profits per month/annum and thus, reason why its operation must go on even on your behalf.

2. who is to take charge in the management till your return.

3. you intend to upgrade by establishing a permanent location in the area you have made name and move the mobile kitchen to a new location as a strategy to get customers there — like an expansion which has been a long term business aspiration.

4. how food has been a profitable business in Nigeria, which you might even consider introducing some Canadian crusines in your kitchen menu to promote the Canadian (food) culture in Nigeria or culture in general prior to your return.

Studying HRM doesn't stop you not to maintain or keep your business. If you do a proper research, you will find out that business management is aspect of HRM. Its now your duty to connect it to your advantage. This would tell the VO you understand.

It is really a pleasure having this moment with you. Your contributions and posts on the German Visa Section are very insightful. Keep the good work going.

To your questions proper, almost all Nigerian instititions runs on a 5.0 scale only very few runs on 4.0. What ever information on their website is based on the Canadian institution scale which is also equivalent to most countries scale like Nigeria (may with little difference). However, a 3.0 GPA in your last 2yrs in school (undergraduate) is enough to get you in, in additional to other requirements.

Since you are currently undergoing your Masters, your best move would be to go for a Ph.D in Canada or a professional certificate program. As you know already, getting an admission in whatever course or program might not pose as much obstacle than trying to convince the VO on such study move of either going for a second Masters or Graduate certificate instead of Ph.D (if this is your intention).

N.B: MUN is a good school and highly recommendable.

Okay, so let's say a science graduate who has interest in Logistics should go for a PGC in Logistics/Supply Chain Management as the first step in switching fields?

How does that work exactly?

Would the school grant him admission considering his/her first degree and wouldn't that serve as a red flag to the V.O?

Yes, Advance diploma will be ok, if you're refused Pgc admission.

Hello NairaLuck,

Since he is still below 25, you should be optimistic and plan ahead. First he should try to upgrade his HND to a B.sc. Then he should try to garner 1 or more years work experience in a related field maybe simultaneously while he further his studies. With this, he can write IELTS and migrate legally via the EE route.

Also, if he can't wait that long, he should explore the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot/Atlantic Immigration Pilot program. If he is eligible, it is a sure means to migrate to Canada. For further information, visit IRCC website.

He can also try Germany but then the Block Account has been increased to about €10, 236 which is a must requirement and getting an Appointment date for interview is now tough but still possible to get if the perseverance is there.

The name can be use respectively or interchangeably depends on the institution and how the organize their programs and course content. Normally, the duration of PGD is slightly longer than a PGC to complete but most institution run them both as they see fit. You can google for more info.

Almost all universities in Canada are competitive. Apart from a good CGPA, there are other requirements to be satisfied. If the GPA of your last two years in school is good, it will be a plus. In my own observation and experience, only a good GPA can't guarantee a possible admission. For further hint, move back on a pages, similar topic was discussed or go through my previous post by clicking on my signature. I have few posts on the topic.

University of Calgary is a good school and its expected to be competitive. Hence, it advisable to apply to more schools for improved chances of admission.

What categoryof visa are you seeking? Excellent IELTS scores do not give you "visa" to Canada. There are other conditions you have to fulfill

They will find out regardless of either scenarios.

You have to account for any long gap in your personal history within the last 10 years or so
