@ Myc56 ,I totally agree that buying a dividend paying stock is a beautiful idea, but investing is not just about buying a dividend stock, otherwise it would make no difference compared to fixed deposits.

I guess it would be better to buy a dividend stock that has been mispriced, or when they become mispriced, overpaying for a good dividend paying stock may not be a good idea,so i would rather say they wait a little for some mispricing.

Dividend payment should just be one of the catalyst, the real deal actually comes from capital appreciation, which can only reflect appropriately, when a stock is bought at a great discount

The people behind FMN & UACN are powerful people ooo. Even their younger brother DAN SUGAR has started misbehaving after lossing steam after hitting 100%.

I am all for both but let's be discerning. They have both being running since last year. At some point engine suppose quench.

My opinion.

How market?

Sir, forget it. We all know that the market goes zig zag

The question is, has the zig zag movement faced south?

Remember you have been insisting that's north since August

Yes, @Rabbioracle was super promoting this opinion of holding good dividends paying stocks, collecting yearly dividends while waiting for whenever foreign investors show.

How folks easily change.

I've never known Morgan to be like this. They do honour mails and pick calls too.
Please follow up with them so they can sort it out for you.
At times, it takes sometime for their system to reconcile stocks. There could be error somewhere.

I don't know why my own is different. They don't reply my mails. This is my first time experiencing this kind thing and is not funny. They refunded me back my money after the purchase. I have sent mails to Esther, Michael and co but no reply from them.

I am in right place to get good advice.
As at 2006, I had shares worth N300k plus but with the melt down in 2008, I lost interest completely. Early 2008, I met a stock broker that collected my original share certificates with the mind to generate CSCS account. I got the CSCS account number but had never been able to log on because I don't know the password. I don't know what shares have become now or how to track it. Please I need advice to move on.

Contact your Stock broker, I will advise you visit thier office, to sort out the issues.

It is important you Contact CSCS directly and request for your account statement.

Unfortunately the stock broker is no longer in Nigeria and could not reach him.
I shall reach out to CSCS.
Thanks a lot.

ETI's closed at N7.80....................800units multiply by 7.60 = N6,240 as at today.
You'll have to contact your broker to know/get the dividends declared so far..................if there's any. grin
As for First bank, maybe you wait and let the price-fall stabilize first. It's good mostly for price appreciation, even though they pay dividends too.

whether revenue gaps up or not, NET MARGIN should come in higher by Q4.
Just that I've not had the luxury of time to do a comprehensive analysis on WAPCO.
There was a planned article(titled: Larfage Wapco: A journey with value) that was meant to be a follow-up to my last article on DANGOTE CEMENT.
But WAPCO will surprise many folks. ...with last financial print, there are lots of positives that clearly paints a juicy path to value trajectory.

We are all learning too, infact i must confess that your contributions have been novel.Dividends remain one of the most important catalyst for capital appreciation on nse .Am just trying to draw your attention to the fact that capital preservation must always preceed capital appreciation

Nawaooo!

If you are in a market that falls constantly with no end in sight, the advice is to ensure that your stocks are dividend paying stocks. That way you will always have a constant cashflow.

Whenever I say : if e no poo, e go vomit, it means that the stock is low and those in it should wait it out. 'If e no poo' means if there is no capital appreciation, then wait for the vomit(dividend payment). This is a strategy when you are in a stock that your entry price was wrong.

Now, there is capital appreciation (the actual 'poo'), you still tell people to wait for Dividends?

All through mid to end of 2019, I kept urging buy because I know that from my 'basic' understanding of charts grin, that there is going to be a sharp movement that will be fast. A good bullish move. It happened albeit late.

And I have always said here that bulls lurk around a bearish fall and bears lurk around a bullish rise.

So members here have told me to inform them when to exit and not just tell them buy, buy, buy. And that was what I did. I tried to give them early warning.

So why are you sad that people who made money sold and left?

To the newbies:

You have never seen driven a car before and you are given a car, will you jump into it and drive the car at once? You will panic! You could crash immediately!

Why then should you just come into stock market and want to drive off? Without knowing the 'controls' that will aid you to move? Without having the knowledge about the market? You will panic! You could crash immediately!

Leave the market at once and go and study. After studying and asking pertinent questions, then you can be sure that you understand the market very well and emotionally ready to battle in this arena. On this arena, you can gain fast and lose very fast.

If you are promised lots of percentages if you invested for 1 year, ask them about those who bought Fidelity at 4.3, FCMB at 3.60, Zenith at 40, GTB at 56, in early 2018. Till today, they are yet to recover. This brings to fore the question of PATIENCE! Will you be patient enough to wait if your capital erodes rapidly or will you sell at a loss?

You could be lucky and enter a stock and in 1 week, you are at 50% gain. As a newbie, you will want to go for the same stock grin and buy higher hoping that it will keep rising, the experienced ones will be selling by then. And you will be the one carrying their kaya(loads of shares).

You need tons of knowledge about the workings of this particular market, timing of entry, and control of greed and fear. You can learn the first 2 by studying but you can't learn the last (control of greed and fear) by stuyding.

Always learn from the experience of others so that you can be alive to tell the tale!
