New Brunswick community college is it advisable to apply for the school ?

What program are you going there to study? From the wealth of my experience which I enjoyed for the past years on this thread, I have come to understand that international students from Nigeria heading to this college find it very difficult to secure VISA in view of the fact that the visa officers have this perception that Nigerians are using this route (gaining an ordinary diploma acceptance letter from the college) as a means to facilitate entry into canada rather than educational advancement. I would advise you look for a better institution, apply for a lucrative program and increase your chances of securing a study visa to Canada.

My best wishes are with you.

Please for a 2 year masters program with 4 terms, will one need to have the tuition of all four terms(40k CAD)and one year living expenses in ones account with very good cash inflow and outflow before applying for the study permit?

As per the information on IRCC official website, it stated that applicants/Sponsor must demonstrate the ability to cover for the first year of study which includes the tuition fees and the living expenses of 10,000CAD. In the case that the program is more than a year, the sponsor/applicant will prove to the immigration that there is possibility of funding for the subsequent academic year, which can be proven by providing sponsor's source of wealth (business or employment documents) as the case maybe.

It will end in praises.

This is so disheartening. I feel so sorry. But I want to encourage you not to give up so easily. If you are determined to travel abroad for any reason via any route, kindly keep courage and also try other countries. As for this Canada, try it again but this time try it along side with another country.
You own visa too will come one day.

Chief, how u doing? It's been a while. I hope its moving well with you?.

Wishing you the very best.

Good evening everyone,
All praises is due to Allah.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has been of help on this platform, principally; Naijaforeigner, Qudkom, Frank, JustMellow and others.
My Refusal Letter is loading, I just received a BVL without medical. I applied on the 18th of November 2019, this is the 2nd refusal.
For those awaiting decisions, I pray that it will surely end in praises (Ameen).
For anybody that intends to go for upfront medical by January, kindly send me a PM, the date of my appointment is Thursday, the 30th of January, 2020.
Only God Almighty knows best.
Thanks.

My brother, I wasn't happy when I got the message that your visa was delayed the second time. Please put yourself together and don't let the current situation discourage you from pursuing your goal of furthering your studies in Canada either it should be a stepping stone to your ladder of success. If you don't mind, can you share a detailed description of documents you submitted along side your previous application, so the knowledgeable guys in here will pick it up from there.

It will end in praises.

Pls as a graduate, which canadian immigration program can you advice?

Do you've a masters degree and vast working experience? Express Entry will be the best bet for you and would lead you to a direct Permanent Resident of Canada. The entire PR process starting from writing the IELTS, ECA and Visa processing may take up to a full year and its lot more cheaper than the expensive study route and more assured too especially when you've the necessary documentation and requirements.

On the other hand, if you don't have the above profile (a masters degree & working experience,) then applying for a study visa will be your best move to migrate to Canada. The first step to securing a study visa to Canada, is to apply and obtain an admission in one of the Canada's DLI, once this is done, gather relevant documents as per IRCC document checklist and file for a visa application.

In my absence, If you require more information pertaining the subject matter, feel free to drop your questions here and your concerns will be attended to in a short while by my fellow knowledgeable group members.

Please house where can I see format for a Letter of Explanation?

Your contributions will be highly appreciated.

You might not see this information here because no one would like his/her letters to be plagiarized. It will be more logical if you can at least write something to the best of your knowledge by highlighting and tackling the reasons that were raised by the visa officer in your previous application. When you're done doing this and feel unsatisfied or require a second thought, then you may have to contact any of the knowledgeable guys here to assist you in vetting and revamping of the letter.

Dear Great N'landers,
I hope we have been all good? I have missed you so much. Canada has been good just that assignments can make you question your decision of coming to Canada sometimes. Tens of people have sneaked into my PM for advice and I have tried my best for each one of them. I got some free time today so I decided to drop some tips here for everyone to be able to learn one or two things.

GETTING A SUPERVISOR AND POSSIBLY, FUNDING: MY EXPERIENCE WITH NORTH AMERICAN SCHOOLS

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE READY
1) A CV* (not Resume!)
2) Degree certificates (Undergraduate for Masters, Undergraduate and Masters for PhD.)
3) Transcripts (student copy)
Note: Your CV is different from Resume in that the former is concerned about your academic activities, achievements and research objectives. Among other important things, It should contain your overall grades and that of your last two academic years (in percentage), three or four bullet-point research objectives (in place of the career objectives/statements you usually have in resumes), previous awards and scholarships, as well as your research works; published or unpublished. You should always modify this to suit the work of the supervisor and the school you are applying to.

WRITING A SUPERVISOR
Do not write a supervisor without having read 1 or 2 publications from him/her. They do not take you seriously if you are not already familiar with their research focus (I knew these before I entered the game and all the Profs I have met here also reaffirmed that). When writing them an email, use a catchy subject like "PROSPECTIVE GRADUATE STUDENT, FALL 2050" or "PROSPECTIVE Ph.D. STUDENT (ALREADY APPLIED), FALL, 2024" If your proposed school demands that you apply before securing supervisors. Please note the keywords in the subject!.

DON'T YOU EVER USE GENERIC EMAIL! All emails sent to each Prof. must be constructed personally for them because they always detect and detest copy and paste generic email. The body of the email should have the following:

Dear Prof. Xyz,
Your name? graduate of what, and where? your grades; overall and last two academic years in percentage (No Prof. has time to be converting your grades), your interests in relation to the research focus of the Prof.

What you read about the Prof's paper and how it captured your interests, what point and suggestion were you able to derive from the research you read? your own research interests and how it relates to that of the Prof.

Let him know you met the requirement for admission (you must have checked the school portal to know if you meet admission requirements) and when you intend to resume. Ask him about the possibilities. Tell him you have attached a CV, Transcript, and Certificate.

Thank him/her for the time

Sincerely,
Your name
(Do not put your number, they will never call you, and stop putting your email here, it is already on the mail you sent)

WHEN TO SEND THE EMAIL
Always check the local time in the Prof's province and send the email in at around 8 am and 3:50 pm their local time. If they fail to respond in 5 business days, keep resending it at that interval until they reply to you.

ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS & OTHER THINGS YOU SHOULD/NOT DO
Do not talk about funding unless the Prof has accepted you. Personally, I would check the school funding package before I contact any Prof in that school because no Prof gives money from their private pocket. The minimum requirements into most graduate programs in Canada is Nigerian 2:1 (70%) and they strongly "prefer" candidates with 80% and above.

Scholarships are mostly given based on the school's provision (See program funding package on the school's portal). Most of them are merit-based, you don't have to apply as they come with your admission package. This is where your grades in last-two academic years come in. The closer it is to 100% the better. You can expect something if you hold 80% and above. If you are not clear with the conditions, you can ask the Prof. after he has accepted you.

#######################################################

I hope I have just answered some common questions, with time I can drop something about admission application. Have fun and dream big.

Sincerely,

There is no refund once visa is delayed except your agent agrees to that.

The sad part is, prices vary from one agent to the other and Fanshawe is doing nothing about it.

My suggestion, if you see any college with same program that allows you take full control of the admission process without the use of an agent, you should consider that.

P.s Fanshawe is a very good school. I just don't like the fact that students must go through an agent to secure admission. Agents will ask you for application (usually about $100), registration, administrative and other fees.
Sadly,I couldn't find same program in another college. According to the mail I got from Fanshawe, the agent will also be of assistance in regards to Visa Study Application.I intend contacting the list of agents, if their charged fee is favourable, then I may consider.

Bless You.

The Altantic Immigration Pilot Program - AIPP and the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program - (RNIP) are the viable options for you to secure a permanent residence of Canada with an SSCE certification, a low proof of settlement funds and low IELTS score (4.0band). Having said that, these immigration pathways are employer's driven and will compulsorily require you to secure a job offer prior to be eligible to file for a permanent residency of Canada.
It will end in praises
Please @frankrobbn1: Are you saying WAEC or SSCE(NECO) alone can be evaluated and use for those program above? ........ because on WES website it is stated that if one has less than a a year or 1 year program... thats the applicants to include WAEC or SSCE for the evaluation process.

For clarity purpose can you help explain if other evaluation bodies does only waec? or Maybe WES does..

I chose holland because I’m cost conscious for now
Frankrobbn1:

Holland College is a small college situated at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada with low employment prospects within the province. Since you're seeking for advanced knowledge with the intention to stay back after studies, why not go for good colleges in Ontario like Centennial College, Conestoga College, Humber College etc.. If you seek my opinion, I feel it's not a reasonable idea going to PEI.

Pls, experts in the house should advice us how to go about this, biko.

slimmsyyetty:
Good evening house. Pls I would like to ask these questions on behalf of my cousin sister who now wants to apply for study visa but I need assistance from gurus in the house.

She got admission offer in December, 2019 at centennial college for spring intake. She applied for a year culinary skills program (catering related) . Meanwhile, she graduated 2009 in applied Physics but has eventually switched her career to catering. Her catering business is likewise registered in 2016. Her dad who retired a long time ago will be sponsoring her. He just disposed one of his inherited properties, so he has more than enough in his account to sponsor her even though he has not been running his account before now because he is retired. The sudden cash he received from the sales of his property is what he wants to use as his account statement, coupled with his affidavit and letter of support. Also my cousin just clocked another new age this January, in fact, she is in her early thirties, single, and also doesn't have a good cash flow in her account for the past 6 months.

Pls, with all these complex issues, how do we begin her application towards a successful one. They intend looking for agents but I told them not to for now that they should give me some few days to make enquiries on her behalf from some of my ogas on nairaland

Pls help a family.

Thank you for replying. No we are not related.
He stated in the letter that as part of giving back(he is a politician) he gives financial assistance to deserving students which he does regularly and can be seen if you even google his name so he said my brother is a beneficiary of the initiative.
He is our uncles friend and he stated that there.
No we didn't show any link between them and no proof of history or ongoing assistance shown.
I am guessing thats why it was refused.Well we used an agent who didn't state we were meant to do that.
Please go through and advise, thank you.

Frankrobbn1:

I regret to hear your younger brother's study visa was rejected. Before I can come into your brother's case, permit me to quickly chip in these questions,

- What kind of scholarship is this? and
- How is this sponsor related to your brother?.
- Where you able to show link b/w the two persons?
- Did you include any proof of history or ongoing financial support from this sponsor to the applicant?

Provide answers to these few questions and I'll know how best to advise you so as to attain a successful re-application.

Also be advised that payment of upfront tuition fees is NOT a prerequisite for a visa approval. Hence, it's not advisable to pay if the school doesn't require you to do so.

Yes, WAEC can be evaluated through WES and also can be used for the above programs (AIPP and RNIP) to secure a permanent residency Visa of Canada. However, you've to carefully check the NOC requirements for the job you're applying to, so to be sure that the minimum educational requirement is high school diploma.

It's never an issue provided that he has acquired some level of working experiences in the business field during the last few years after his first degree. Opting for a business administration program at this point in time shows career advancement and progression. Worry less, your friend will be fine. The limited employment prospects includes during studies and also after graduation, this is because the province doesn't have much population (156,947) as at (2019), there are few industrial companies that can offer you employment and its a maritime province which is been surrounded by water. You may work your ass off to secure a job in the province, even if you're able to get a job, the pay scale will be minimal as compared to someone working in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba. More importantly is the fact that securing a study Visa will be very difficult with such school, in as much as the visa officer will be of the notion that you're seeking study permit as a means to abscond to Canada without future plans of returning home after studies. To sum it up, Holland College is not a popular institution for international students, this also will be a negative factor during the visa officer's assessment.

Please do have a rethink about your plans of migrating to Canada for studies.

Its very possible for the dad to sponsor the daughter using the funds that was acquired from the sales of his property. All he needs to do is to include the deed of assignments between him (the seller) and the purchaser. The pictures of the sold property and receipts showing proof, date of payment and amount deposited into his account must be well demonstrated and backed up with evidence. A brief statement pertaining to the source of this funds also have to be explained in the sponsor's letter of support.

Now coming to your friend's case, she has to include her business registration certificate, and a reasonable amount of money should be reflecting in her account statement. The purpose is to proof to the visa officer that her business is well-established in Nigeria and her proposed program in Canada would be a reasonable expense.

It will end in praises

It's never an issue provided that he has acquired some level of working experiences in the business field during the last few years after his first degree. Opting for a business administration program at this point in time shows career advancement and progression. Worry less, your friend will be fine. He should proceed with his plans of applying for Visa, and hope for the best in his application.

Hello AlFath,

If Canada is your dream, don't relent. Plan ahead and reafire.

All the best

This is so disheartening. I feel so sorry. But I want to encourage you not to give up so easily. If you are determined to travel abroad for any reason via any route, kindly keep courage and also try other countries. As for this Canada, try it again but this time try it along side with another country.
You own visa too will come one day.

Frankrobbn1:

My brother, I wasn't happy when I got the message that your visa was delayed the second time. Please put yourself together and don't let the current situation discourage you from pursuing your goal of furthering your studies in Canada either it should be a stepping stone to your ladder of success. If you don't mind, can you share a detailed description of documents you submitted along side your previous application, so the knowledgeable guys in here will pick it up from there.

It will end in praises.

Good morning,
I want to appreciate you all for your advice and suggestions. It will surely end in praises.
God bless you all.

One thing That you don't get to find on this page is Guys been sincere and straight Sarcastic (if they intend to see it like that).

Do you how much you spend on application alone?

Telling people not to lose hope and re-fire, when deep deep the application can "never" get a consideration, Making money for Canadian government.

Point Blank.... "SOME SPECIMEN APPLICATION CAN NOT GET APPROVAL"

How about we become sincere with this people?.

Most of the People here advising don't have Visa.
