DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-02 (Epiphany 4) TOPIC: THE CROSS: THE FOUNDATION OF SALVATION TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 1: 18 -25 (NKJV) 18. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21. For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23. but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24. but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. I Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV STUDY The Jews believed that anyone who is hung on the cross/tree is under God’s curse (Deut. 21:23).In spite of Isaiah 53, they could never envisage a suffering Messiah. They sought for a sign that would prove that the Prophet or Messenger was from God. To them, a crucified Christ indicated weakness, not power. They looked for a Messiah who would restore the kingdom of David, not one who would die on the cross (v.22; Mat 16:1-4). To the Jews, this message of the cross is a stumbling block and to the Greeks, foolishness, but to those who are called (both Jews and Greeks); Christ is the power and wisdom of God (vs. 22-24). The total debt for sin was paid on the Cross, therebygranting pardon to guilty men and at the same time, vindicating the justice of God which stands out as the wisest and most remarkable plan of all time. The cross is the foundation of the Christian message. It is the place of reconciliation. Jesus suffered and died on the Cross just to save you from eternal damnation. Come to Him in repentance now without delay before it is too late. PRAYER: Jesus keep me near the Cross; And help me walk with you day to day, till I reach Heaven. Amen. HAPPY SUNDAY TO YOU! DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-03 (The Presentation of Christ in the Temple) TOPIC: HOLY TO THE LORD TEXT: LUKE 2:22-35(NKJV) 22. Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present [Him] to the Lord 23. (as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the LORD", 24. and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, "A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons." 25. And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27. So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, 28. he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said: 29. "Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word; 30. For my eyes have seen Your salvation 31. Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, 32. A light to [bring] revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel." 33. And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him. 34. Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this [Child] is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against 35. "(yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed." STUDY The presentation of Christ in the Temple comes 40days after Christmas. That is the interval between the birth of a male Child and his presentation as prescribed by the Law (Lev. 12:3, 4, 8; Deut. 16:16-17). This corresponds to our present day Churching of women after Child birth. The parents of Jesus obeyed the command that every first born male belonged to the Lord and had to be redeemed (Exodus 13: 1-2; Numbers 18: 15-16). Jesus was presented in the Temple as holy to the Lord. And as we commemorate His presentation, we are requested to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service (Romans 12: 1). When Jesus was brought to the Temple, Simeon sang the Nunc Dimittis which announced that with the coming of the Messiah, the old order is superseded. He declared that in Jesus, salvation had come (v.30; Mal 3:1-6). Jesus is the light to the Gentiles and glory to His people Israel (v.32; Isa. 49:6). He continues “Behold, this Child (Jesus) is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel…’’ (Luke 2:34). I implore you to accept Him today as LORD or you will stand before Him tomorrow as your Judge. PRAYER: LORD Jesus, I present my spirit, soul and body toYou. Help me to live for you forever. Amen. DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-04 TOPIC: SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS TEXT: EPHESIANS 1:1-10(NKJV) 1. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus: 2. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3. Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ, 4. just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5. having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6. to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. 7. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8. which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9. having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10. that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth -- in Him. STUDY Our reading today dealt with spiritual blessings belonging to us as a result of our redemption in Christ. To redeem is to buy back from the slave market. God bought us back from the slave market of sin through the blood of Jesus Christ who paid our price on the cross of Calvary. He also rose again from the death to seal this deal of our redemption. Great spiritual blessings belong to whoever will believe in Christ. From our passage, these blessing include: • Being “Saints” of God - God sees us as “The faithful in Christ Jesus” • Grace of God abides with us - Peace from God and The Lord Jesus Christ • God becomes “our Father” - We become “Chosen” by God • God sees us as “holy and blameless” - We become adopted as sons and daughters of God • We become acceptable to God - Our sins are completely forgiven • We have access to the mystery of God’s will In fact, every spiritual blessing in heaven becomes available to us in Christ. All these are by the grace of God. Are you in Christ? PRAYER: O Lord Jesus, come into my heart and save my soul. Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-05 TOPIC: SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT TEXT: EPHESIANS 1:11-14(NKJV) 11. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12. that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. 13. In Him you also [trusted,] after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14. who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. STUDY Yesterday we meditated on the spiritual blessings that are ours when we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Let usconsider another great promise we received in Christ- the Holy Spirit. When Christ was about to leave this world, He made a promise to believers that He would send the Holy Spirit to help us and be our comforter (John 16:7-9). In our meditation today, we also see the Holy Spirit as a seal (mark, stamp) that God has made on those that receive Christ. He is a deposit (guarantee, down payment) that God has made on behalf of believers that all these spiritual blessings would surely be ours at the resurrection(v.14). Remember these blessings were bought for us by the blood of Jesus Christ to the glory of God. This is a great consolation to all believers. No matter what you are passing through, do not be discouraged. God is working out His purpose for us. It will surely be well in Christ! PRAYER: Thank you Lord Jesus for great and exceeding promises you have made to us, Amen. Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-06 TOPIC: PRAY FOR SPIRITUAL WISDOM TEXT: EPHESIANS 1:15-23(NKJV) 15. Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16. do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17. that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18. the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19. and what [is] the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20. which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated [Him] at His right hand in the heavenly [places,] 21. far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22. And He put all [things] under His feet, and gave Him [to be] head over all [things] to the church, 23. which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. STUDY In the past few days we have meditated on the spiritual blessings that are the believer’s in Christ Jesus. There is a big difference between having the blessings of God and enjoying them. We move from having these blessings to enjoying them by faith. For us to appropriate these blessings and live in them, we need to pray, asking God to give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing Christ more. The disciples continually marvelled at the overwhelmingly powerful miracles that The Lord performed (Matt.9:33; Mark 4:41, etc.). The same power is available to the believer by faith. So we need to pray for spiritual wisdom to walk in this. We learnt from our meditation today that Christ is far above principalities and powers, might and dominion, and every name that is named, in this world and even in the one to come. Christ is the head over all things and of the Church. We are even seated with Him in heavenly places (Eph. 2:6). How can the believer understand, appreciate, and walk in these? We need to pray for spiritual wisdom. That was the prayer of St Paul for believers PRAYER: : O God, grant me spiritual wisdom! Amen Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-07 TOPIC : GOD'S WORKMANSHIP TEXT: EPHESIANS 2:1-10(NKJV) 1. And you [He made alive,] who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2. in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of The power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3. among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5. even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6. and raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in the heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus, 7. that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, 9. not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. STUDY We were saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ (v. and all He did for us on the cross. Works cannot save us; instead our works are the result of our salvation, not the cause of our salvation. From our meditation today, we discovered that God is at work in the life of the believer. It is good for us to look back and appreciate God for what He has done for us in Christ Jesus. We were once dead in trespasses and sins. We were living worldly lives under the spirit of the power of the air (spirit of Satan) (vs. 1-2). This spirit is at work in the life of unbelievers and leads to eternal damnation in hell. Thanks be to God that He saved us from all these and continues to work in us by His Holy Spirit to make us more and more like His son Jesus Christ, Alleluia! PRAYER: Appreciate God now for your salvation and continual work in your life. If you have not yet repented of your sins, ask God to save you and work in your life. DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-08 TOPIC: CHRIST IS OUR PEACE . TEXT: Ephesians 2:11-15(NKJV) 11. Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh -- who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands -- 12. that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15. having abolished in His flesh the enmity, [that is,] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man [from] the two, [thus] making peace, STUDY Today, many nations, societies and families are facing various forms of conflicts, crises, discriminations, disunities, and hardships. Broken marriages, broken relationships, acrimonies, social stigmatisations, political betrayals, economic problems, spiritual/demonic attacks, psychological traumas, unfulfilled dreams, and loneliness have also stolen the peace of many minds, luring them to contemplate suicide. But the good news (Ephesians 2:11-15) is that Jesus Christ, with His precious blood, has secured an enduring reconciliation, unity and perfect peace for all mankind who truly believe in Him. He knows the social and economic crises, the discriminations and deprivations, the disappointments and frustrations, and the pains and persecutions we are experiencing day. Even your own deep-rooted worries are bare to Him now. So, let not your heart be troubled. Just trust Jesus and believe that He has washed away your sins with His blood and reconciled you back to God; He has removed all ordinances against your destiny; He is smoothening your relationships and asking you to forgive all who offended you. He stands before you today saying, I am your peace, look onto Me. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I believe that You are my peace; please grant me the grace to keep looking onto You in all my situations. DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL DATE: 2020-02-09 (Septuagesima) TOPIC: FOLLOWING CHRIST SHEEPISHLY TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 4:1-13(NKJV) 1. Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. 3. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. 4. For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. 5. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God. 6. Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. 7. For who makes you differ [from another?] And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive [it,] why do you boast as if you had not received [it?] 8. You are already full! You are already rich! You have reigned as kings without us -- and indeed I could wish you did reign, that we also might reign with you! 9. For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. 10. We [are] fools for Christ's sake, but you [are] wise in Christ! We [are] weak, but you [are] strong! You [are] distinguished, but we [are] dishonored! 11. To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. 12. And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; 13. being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now. STUDY In today’s Scripture, Paul indirectly uses his life experience to advise the Corinthians to stick to the right Christian lifestyle, to be faithful, humble, non-judgmental, and true Christians who would bless when reviled, endure when persecuted, and entreat when defamed. This lifestyle implies following Christ sheepishly, following Him faithfully and steadfastly, doing His will without complaining or doubting, being humble like Him, allowing God to be Judge in all situations, blessing our revilers, enduring all pains and persecutions, entreating our defamers, and seemingly being “fools for Christ’s sake” (vs. 10-13). Ironically, the truly wise Christians are those who are fools, like Paul, for Christ’s sake. As we prepare for the forthcoming Lenten Season, let us consider/evaluate our lifestyles and determine to follow Christ sheepishly for the eternal gains of doing so. PRAYER: LORD, please grant me the grace to follow Christ wholeheartedly, to maintain a truly Christian lifestyle like Paul and make heaven at last, in Jesus’ name. Amen. DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-10 TOPIC: CHRISTIAN UNITY TEXT: EPHESIANS 2:16-22(NKJV) 16. and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. 19. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20. having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner[stone,] 21. in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22. in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. STUDY Today’s reading reminds us that Christ is the source of Christian unity; the Chief Cornerstone of the Holy Temple- the body of Christ. It shows us how Christ removed the barriers of sin and offences separating us from God and from one another; how He reconciled us not only to God but also to all who were hitherto our enemies. By His death on the cross, the enmity with God and His people died and we have become friends and united with God and with all people under the banner of Christ. Shall we make void this Christian unity which Christ purchased with His precious blood? No! Shall we recreate the barriers of separation between us and God and continue to live in enmity with Him by committing secret sins? No! Shall we continue to live in unforgiveness, discrimination, acrimony and rancour with people whom Christ has enjoined us to live with in peace and unity? No! If your answers are No!, like mine, let us pray. PRAYER: Almighty God, please forgive me all past sins as I forgive those who sinned against me, and grant me the grace to uphold Christian unity all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen. *THE DAILY FOUNTAIN.* THE DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA _ (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)_ *DATE:* TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2020 *THEME:* PRISONERS FOR CHRIST *BIBLE READING:* EPHESIANS 3: 1-13 *(NIV)* 1. For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles -- 2. if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3. how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4. by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5. which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: 6. that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, 7. of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power. 8. To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9. and to make all see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10. to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly [places,] 11. according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12. in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. 13. Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. *MESSAGE:* Apostle Paul gives a concise account of his ministry in the verses of today’s passage. It is very important that we appreciate that his labelling himself a ‘prisoner’ is not in the negative sense as is usually associated with the word. Anyone who is imprisoned is often viewed as one who has committed a crime. It is rather an expression of commitment to a course or role from which he wishes not to escape, no matter what it cost him. For this, he prayed the Christians at Ephesus not to be dismayed or discouraged by his sufferings. To discharge our ministries effectively and successfully, we need to have a good understanding (v.4) of the contents of the gospel and our specific roles in sharing it. It is very pertinent that we realise that in this ministry, we are nothing but servants and privileged carriers of the mystery of Christ. Anyone who must make his mark needs to know that executing this task requires the grace of God (v.7). Leaning on the grace of God boosts our confidence and enhances our availability. Mention is to be made of God’s special disposition towards all who are of the ‘lowly estate’ (v., that is, humility. Can we therefore like Apostle Paul, count ourselves as both prisoners ‘for’ and ‘of’ Christ? *PRAYER:* Heavenly Father, I yield myself totally to You as a prisoner for the sake of the gospel. Grant me a perfect understanding of my specific role in sharing this gospel, *Amen!* Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-12 TOPIC: BUILDING UP THE SAINTS THROUGH PRAYER TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:14-21(NKJV) 14. For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15. from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16. that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17. that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18. may be able to comprehend with all the saints what [is] the width and length and depth and height -- 19. to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21. to Him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. STUDY The ministry of the word and prayer was well- recognized by the early disciples as being vital tools in nurturing the newly founded Christian assembly (Acts 2:42). As evident in most of Paul’s epistles, he was genuinely interested in the establishment and building up of the saints also. Instructions through writing and sincere compassionate prayers were very prominent in his letters (Rom. 1:9; Eph. 1:16; Phil. 1:4). Prayer is a responsibility that every believer must take seriously. Jesus showed this example also in His ministry, for not only did He pray but also taught the disciples to pray. This shows the importance of prayer in building up the Church. Do we as believers really devote time to pray for the Church? Are we burdened by the need to get young believers rooted and grounded in the love of God and love for neighbours? Several concerns have today taken over the attention of many believers to the neglect of the spiritual needs of the growing Church. Notable among these is the undue emphasis on material acquisitions of the Church. Paul’s key interests as he mentioned were strengthening their inner man, ensuring that Christ indwelt their hearts and increasing their power to understand the full dimensions of God’s love. Can we pause and consider the havoc being done to today’s Church as a result of weak Christians being raised up in these last days. PRAYER: : Lord, please teach us as believers to pray for the Church. Credits :Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-13 TOPIC: CHRISTIAN MATURITY TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:1-12(NKJV) 1. I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2. with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3. endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4. [There is] one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5. one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6. one God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all. 7. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8. Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men." 9. (Now this, "He ascended" -- what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10. He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) 11. And He Himself gave some [to be] apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12. for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, STUDY It is a fact that growth and maturity are characteristics expected of any living thing. Paul’s target as a labourer was to see Christ formed in these young believers (Gal. 4:19). Christian maturity hence can be simply described as formation of Christ in us. A mature Christian is known by the life he/she lives; a life worthy of the calling characterised by humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, unity and peace (vs. 2&3). Christian maturity is a virtue that is critically needed among the people of God in these last days if the Church must rise up to the great commission that was handed over to her. To do this, it is important that we recognise that Christianity is all about one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God (vs. 4-6). Christian maturity brings about maturity in Christian service. Christians worldwide are called upon to understand that what makes for a mature service includes recognising the fact that we have all received the gifts we operate today. It does not therefore call for any form of pride or self-centeredness. Also we have been gifted in order to equip our fellow saints for the work of the ministry and further building up of the body of Christ. We should make this our target. That way, the church can look beyond some of the negative attitudes in her which project her as immature. PRAYER: O Lord, it is my sincere desire that Christ be fully formed in me and may I in turn be a worthy vessel in Your hands to build others up through the free gifts you have given to me. DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-14 TOPIC: DON’T BE A BABY CHRISTIAN TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:13-16(NKJV) 13. till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14. that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15. but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head -- Christ -- 16. from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. STUDY Our text today in verse 14 points out that as long as one doesn’t mature in the faith (our common faith) and in the knowledge of Christ, such a one will continue to be tossed around by every wind of teaching and craftiness of men. Such an unsteady person, according to James 1:7 should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Many men are out there to prey on the gullible, unsteady people with their sweet but untrue teachings, flashybut fake magical miracles, thereby enslaving them in the confines of their so called ministries. Our faith is one; our salvation is one in our one Lord and Christ. Obedience to the truth, which involves studying the scriptures, makes one experience that truth and stand firm as a member of the body of Christ. Growing in the Lord: In love, knowledge of the truth, faith, righteousness and peace, is maturity. Be mature, don’t be deceived but be beneficial to the Lord. PRAYER: O Lord, help me to grow to maturity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God. Amen! Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-15 TOPIC: CALLED TO BE DIFFERENT TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:17-24(NKJV) 17. This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18. having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19. who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20. But you have not so learned Christ, 21. if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22. that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23. and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24. and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. STUDY Becoming a Christian or having a true association with Christ entails deserting every old life of sin. Our text tells us that the thoughts of the gentiles (unbelievers) are futile, their understanding darkened and their living separated from God. They have lost all sensitivity of God and spiritual things, thereby becoming carnal in their living. Ponder a minute: What influences your judgments?Where do you spend your time?On what do you spend your strength, money and wealth? Do you focus on material gains, vengeance, sectionalismand fleshly desires or do you meditate on fulfilling God’s purpose – mercy, loveand godliness? Now judge within yourself, are you a church goer (unbeliever)? Are you really different from the world? A Christian business man once told me of a colleague who, wanting to avoid being regarded as one of the evil men in society, decided to join a church. He happily invited him to join his church, but before he met him again, he had joined another church which people advised him would hide his evil ways. If you are called to be a Christian, put off your old self, and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. PRAYER: Father please help me to live a life that will make me different from the world. Amen Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-16 (Sexagesima) TOPIC: ADVICE FOR MEETING SPECIFIC NEEDS TEXT: JAMES 5:13-16(NKJV) 13. Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16. Confess [your] trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. STUDY The Christian life is not always rosy;as long as we are in this world, we,as believersmust face trials, temptations and tribulations. Our reading today tells us how to approach specific needs weencounter as believers: i. Arewe suffering? The Bible encourages us to pray (v.13). ii. Arewe happy and cheerful?Let us sing psalms and praises (v.13). iii. Are sick (v.14)?We should call the elders (Ministers and other faithful believers) of the church to pray for us. iv. Theseelders are to anoint such as are sick with oil in the name of the Lord. Such prayer of faith will heal the sick or save the sick if he/she is not a believer. If the sickness is as a result of sin or unconfessed sin in the life of a believer, he/she is assured of forgiveness (vs. 14-15). v. The importance of confession of sin and prayer by mature believers isparamount (v.16). Such effective fervent prayer, God will surely answer (vs. 16-17). PRAYER: Thank you O Lord, for providing us various ways of help in our difficult situations. Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-17 TOPIC: NO FOOTHOLD FOR THE DEVIL TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:25-32(NKJV) 25. Therefore, putting away lying, ["Let] each one [of you] speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. 26. "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27. nor give place to the devil. 28. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with [his] hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you. STUDY The Church, which is the body of Christ, should be one, holy and spotless as the bride of the coming Bridegroom, Jesus Christ. Unity in holiness should be her watchword and goal. The Church would be dysfunctional if bitterness, rage, brawling and slander, falsehood, unforgiveness, laziness, stealing, backbiting, pulling down one another and other vices, exist. The Holy Spirit of God who is with the Church, would be grieved and desert her if these things exist and persist. Then the Church would be at the mercy of the devil who always seeks opportunities to take advantage of her. Therefore, every Christian should be careful about his or her conductand make every effort to build up one another - tolerating, sharing with and caring for one another. Brethren, we must work hard to keep the body of Christ one and exclude every vice that the devil may hold on to trouble us. PRAYER: Dear Lord, may I have the zeal for your church and keep in step with the Holy Spirit. Amen. Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL DATE: 2020-02-18 TOPIC: LIVE AS CHILDREN OF GOD TEXT: Ephesians 5:1-14(NKJV) 1. Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. 3. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4. neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7. Therefore do not be partakers with them. 8. For you were once darkness, but now [you are] light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9. (for the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10. finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose [them.] 12. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14. Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light." STUDY One sure evidence of salvation is living the new life of Christ. From our text today, the scripture clearly shows the expected lifestyle of believers who have been delivered from the darkness of this world into the kingdom of Light in Christ Jesus our Lord (Col. 1:13). God is Light in whom there is no darkness at all, and the fruit of that light consists of all goodness, righteousness and truth (v.9). As children of God, every Christian should produce a fragrant fruit of outstanding moral and ethical character. The Holy Spirit enables the Christian to flee from all forms of evil and purse after righteousness as seen in Jesus’ earthly life. Moreover, the love for God and the sincere desire to obey His word keeps His children from sinful works. Surely, “No one who is born of God will continue to sin …” (1 John 3:9a,NIV). Unfortunately, these days many profess to be children of God, yet indulge in sinful practices- idolatry, fornication, adultery, cheating, stealing, lying, covetousness, drunkenness, etc. Beloved, examine yourself in light of these for Jesus said “wherefore by their fruits you shall know them. “Not everyone who says unto me Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father…..” (Matt.7:20 & 21). True children of God strive to be imitators of their Father, living a life of loveand purity and avoiding participating in works of darkness but rather exposing them. (vs. 1-3,11). Therefore prove your faith by the way you live. PRAYER: Lord please help me to live as your child and bear the fruit of the Spirit daily in Jesus name. Amen Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-19 TOPIC: THE CHRISTIAN AND THE EVIL DAYS TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:15-20(NKJV) 15. See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16. redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord [is.] 18. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19. speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20. giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, STUDY A Christian is one who is saved from sin and satanic activities in the world through faith in Jesus Christ, the Lord and Saviour. As a result of this salvation and pure faith in Christ, the world hates the Christian (Jn. 17:14). This world that hates the Christian has Satan as its master just as the Christian has Jesus Christ as his Master. It is the deception and works of Satan through men that has brought about the evil days. “Evil days” are times of progressive increase in ungodliness and unrighteousness. It manifests itself in strong opposition to the gospel of Christ, truth and justice; subtle corruption of the gospel and the church of God. These call for wisdom and godly actions on the part of the Christian. Our reading today gives instructions of what Christians must do regarding the evil days. They include: to be careful and live wisely not as fools (v.15); to utilise every opportunity for the advantage of God’s kingdom (v.16); to seek to understand God’s will in all matters (v.17); to be sober, yield fully to the control of the Holy Spirit and worship God in spirit and truth (vs. 18-20); to giving thanks always to God for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (v.20). These are God’s prescription for the Christian to overcome the evil days, succeed in this present world and finally inherit the everlasting kingdom of God. Every Christian should accept and practise this divine wisdom. PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for your provision for me to overcome the evil days; help me to commit myself to practising them in Jesus name. Amen Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-20 TOPIC: CHRISTIAN HUSBAND AND WIFE RELATIONSHIP TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:21-33(NKJV) 21. submitting to one another in the fear of God. 22. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in everything. 25. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26. that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27. that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord [does] the church. 30. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31. "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." 32. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife [see] that she respects [her] husband. STUDY True Christian marriage is the one where a husband and wife seek to honour Christ as Lord in their marriage by submitting to the word of God willingly. It is a marriage where the authority and Lordship of Jesus Christ is accepted by both husband and wife. In the beginning, God instituted marriage between a man and a woman for mutual benefit and to bring glory to His name (Gen. 1:26-31, 2:15). Later, sin entered the world and corrupted all things, including the marriage relationship. But through Christ, God is restoring all things to His glory. We should aim tohave Christian marriages and not marriage as practised in the world outside Christ. To achieve this, the word of God has provided the unfailing wisdom to guidea man and his wife. God instructed the woman to submit to her own husband as unto the Lord (v.22). Accepting and obeying this is a proof of the wife’s love for the Lord and trust in His ability to produce a glorious godly marriage through her. So refusal to submit to a husband’s leadership is refusal to submit to Christ’s authority as Lord. God commanded theman to love his wife as Christ loves the church (v.25); even when the wife fails to submit, the husband is to still love her; doing otherwise is dishonouring the Lord. Therefore as husband and wife honour the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit empowers them to submit to one another and a marriage honourable and pleasing to God results. PRAYER: Father thank you for the gift of Christian marriage, help me to always strive to honour Jesus Christ in my marriage. Amen Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-21 TOPIC: CHRISTIANS SERVING ONE ANOTHER TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:1-9(NKJV) 1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: 3. "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." 4. And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. 5. Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6. not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7. with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8. knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether [he is] a slave or free. 9. And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him. STUDY As Christians, we are called to serve one another in different capacities and settings. The hallmark of genuine Christianity is service to God through serving others in the family or society. Paul in this letter stipulates how Christian services should be, both at home and in the work place. It is important to emphasise that we have our heavenly Father who is the Master of all and He will reward everyone accordingly without favouritism (vs. 8-9). Both Jesus Christ and His early disciples gave themselves to serving one another (Mk. 10:45; Acts 2:44-47). Knowing this therefore, our goal should always be to serve and treat others in a manner acceptable and pleasing to God. Then our homes and society will be filled with the beauty of Christian service. In the home, children should be taught to obey and serve their parents in the name of the Lord; the promise of God’s promise of long life to such children must be stressed. Fathers in particular are admonished not to provoke their children to wrath (v.4). They need to depend on God on how to train and instruct their children in love; so they need to be careful not to displease their children under intense anger. Christian workers, especially those working for fellow Christians, should serve with sincerity; not with eye service, but as servants of Christ (v.6). God is faithful and will never allow our true service to go unrewarded. Christian masters are to treat their servants/workers as though they are serving the Lord, with love and sincerity. As Christians, our services should reflect the gospel we believe and proclaim. PRAYER: :Lord, thank you for the privilege of serving in my family, the church and the society. May my services bring and establish souls in your kingdom, Amen! Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-22 TOPIC: OVERCOMING THE DEVIL, HOW? TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:10-20(NKJV) 10. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places.] 13. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15. and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16. above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18. praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints -- 19. and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20. for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. STUDY Our passage informs us that we are in a serious battle against powerful but invisible enemies. These include “principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this age and spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Certainly, we cannot see or identify them physically, therefore, only Him who overcame them through His death on the cross can decisively crush them for us (See John 10:27-29; 1 John 5:18).Nevertheless, He expects us to be involved in this battle. Therefore, He provided for us every battle instrument for the engagement. These include: 1. Being strong in the Lord and depending solely on His power and might. 2. To put on the whole amour of God- (a) The truth: standing on truth always, in all situations and circumstances (b) Putting on the breastplate of righteousness (salvation) in Jesus (1 Cor. 1:30); (c) Always confessing Jesus to the world as the way of our salvation (preaching). (d) Stand in faith always, to be able to stand and ward off the fiery darts of the enemy. (e) Have the sword of the Spirit (God’s word) fill our spirit (Psalm 119:9,11). (f) Prayer –always praying without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17). (g) Put on the helmet of salvation. Are you saved by being born again? (John 3:3, 6). PRAYER: Not by might, not by power, oh Lord can I be saved. So Lord, take holdof me to overcome in Jesus name Amen. Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-23 (Quinquagesima) TOPIC: ONLY ONE WAY TO GOD TEXT: COLOSSIANS 1:18-26(NKJV) 18. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19. For it pleased [the Father that] in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20. and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22. in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight -- 23. if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister. 24. I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, 25. of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, 26. the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. STUDY Different people have adopted different ways or means of getting to heaven. Such means include: personalities, names, religion, ideology, etc. However, from our passage today, it is glaringly clear that ONLY through Christ that ANYONE can make it to God or heaven. This is because God was pleased to reveal Himself in Christ Jesus who came from heaven to earth to save us from sin. He reconciled us to God by the cruel death He went through on the cross of Calvary. By shedding His blood, new life was transmitted to as many as would receive Him as their Lord and Saviour. This sacrifice pleased God so much that He threw the door open to all who would mind to come to Him for cleansing. He makes us His children through Christ Jesus. Therefore, there is no other name given under heaven whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Friend, turn to Jesus now;surrender your life to Him. Your good deeds, philanthropy, religion, ideas or philosophies-nothing other than repenting from your sin and embracing Jesus Christ will take you to God (read Hebrews 2:14-18, 10:14, 19-23). DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-24 (St. Matthias Day) TOPIC: RUN FOR YOUR LIFE TEXT: Acts 1:15-26(NKJV) 15. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said, 16. "Men [and] brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus; 17. "for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry." 18. (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out. 19. And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, Akel Dama, that is, Field of Blood.) 20. "For it is written in the book of Psalms: 'Let his dwelling place be desolate, And let no one live in it'; and, 'Let another take his office.' 21. "Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22. "beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection." 23. And they proposed two: Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24. And they prayed and said, "You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen 25. "to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place." 26. And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles. STUDY God made it clear in Isaiah 55:11 and Jeremiah 1:12 that His spoken words must be fulfilled. Consequently, someone would accomplish what was spoken in Psalm 69:25. How to attend such commission was conspicuously written also (Acts1:20). Judas Iscariot might have read these passages; He was one of the disciples of Jesus. He was the treasurer of the company of God’s men - a privileged position! He knew Jesus came to die for the salvation of mankind (Mark 10:32-34; 14:17-21)and Jesus told them plainly that one of them would betray Him. Nevertheless, Judas Iscariot, having heard all these warnings, allowed his heart to become darkened with sin and seared with a hot iron of the devil. He therefore died spiritually and subsequently, died horribly. He was a thief and this destroyed him (John 12:1-6). Mathias who we are celebrating today had to take his place. Friend, you go to churchand are baptised, you are a communicantand can pray; you can perform miracles, signs and wonders. However, you have refused to let go of that sin or those sins that so cling to you. It has so eaten you up that you don’t care about the warnings from God again. Repent now. Your continued claim to be born again will not save you. You must LEAVE SIN,else someone will take your position and crown. ESCAPE FOR YOUR LIFE! PRAYER: :Lord, I surrender, save me and keep me. Amen Credits: Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-25 (Shrove Tuesday) TOPIC: THE HEARTBEAT OF GOD TEXT: LUKE 15:1-10(NKJV) 1. Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, "This Man receives sinners and eats with them." 3. So He spoke this parable to them, saying: 4. "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety- nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5. "And when he has found [it,] he lays [it] on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6. "And when he comes home, he calls together [his] friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' 7. "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. 8. " Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds [it?] 9. "And when she has found [it,] she calls [her] friends and neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!' 10. "Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." STUDY Many Christians do many things, device many things, think many things, all to show what nature of Christians they are in their relationship with God. Some believe in and run after miracles, prophesiesand signs and wonders. Others enjoy singing to cheer men and spirits as their best way to honour God. Still, many pride themselves in their “capability to expound the word of God.” They also believe that it is the best way to lift up the name of the Lord Jesus. Some have nothing to show for why they are Christians. They come to church, sit, watch, sing, give offering, dance and go home. This continues till they die. Again, many believe in holding tight to the tradition of the ancients of the church;they hold to it tenaciously until they die. Lastly, even so called ministers of the gospel roam aimlessly in their churches making incoherent and unbiblical statements, in the name of presenting the mind of God. But the heartbeat of God is: Go into the world and make disciples of all nations. For in this, God is glorified (Matt. 28:18-20; John 15:. How many souls have you won for God? DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-26 (Ash Wednesday) TOPIC: NO PLACE LIKE HOME TEXT: LUKE 15:11-24(NKJV) 11. Then He said: "A certain man had two sons. 12. "And the younger of them said to [his] father, 'Father, give me the portion of goods that falls [to me.'] So he divided to them [his] livelihood. 13. "And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14. "But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15. "Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16. "And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him [anything.] 17. "But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18. 'I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19. "and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants." ' 20. "And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21. "And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22. "But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put [it] on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on [his] feet. 23. 'And bring the fatted calf here and kill [it,] and let us eat and be merry; 24. 'for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry. STUDY Today is Ash Wednesday, a Christian Holy day of prayer, fasting and repentance. It is preceded by Shrove Tuesday and marks the beginning of Lent. It takes place 46 days before Easter Sundayand is a golden opportunity for coming back of whoever has drifted from the source- Christ. Today’s reading presents before us the popular story of the boy that left home popularly known as the “prodigal son”, a name he obtained based on the wasteful life he lived. He must have been on top of his world, swimming in the affluence of the wealthy possession that he had acquired not knowing that tough time lay ahead of him. Just as soon as he was dry and empty, came the famine. The situation was so severe that he joined himself to a stranger and would have been glad to dine with the pigs. Poor him, a wealthy man’s son reduced to the worst pauper! But the good thing is that he came back to his senses, swallowed the shame and pride and found his way home. As he experienced famine outside home, we cannot strive where the grace of God cannot keep us. No matter how far you stray from God, you can still find your way back to HIM. Child of God, you can use this Lenten season starting today as a means of returning to the Father. As this prodigal was welcomed with love, you too will experience an unspeakable joy and love from the Father. Welcome back home. PRAYER: Father, I come to you. Please help me to experience Your grace and compassion through Jesus Christ, Amen. Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

10 Simple Reasons Why I Cannot Go Back To Christianity - Fatimah O. Victoria Fatimah O. Victoria a Nigeriachristian Lady who reverts to Islam years ago write on why she cannot go back to Christianity. She write: "1) Christians themselves confess that they don't fully understand their beliefs. it's a mystery. So i can't go back to it! It's a confusion. Especially when they try to teach trinity they end up in dilemma. Saying you Can't understand, you need holyspirit. While they with holyspirit also don't understand. 2) Christianity does not go together with natural common sense of a man. Our brains are useless in Christianity hence many westerners turned to atheist. God gave us brain to use in defining matters. But Christian's have renounced use of common sense. For example:- how can they call someone who said my teaching is not mine it comes from the one who sent me as God? John 7:16. Jesus said am a man who tell you what I hear from God(john 8:40). .this is equitable to our natural sense that jesus is a man. Sent by God. A messenger. But they refuse to admit that. 1 John 4:12 says no one has ever seen God at any time. But Christians call Jesus as God who was seen (this is against our brains) So I can't go back to Christianity. 3) Christianity work against Jesus (pbuh) own words. Jesus words become useless. If they are useful ….they seek Paul to ruin Jesus words. For example: Jesus said laws must be followed. Mathew 5:19 Mathew 23:3-4 Christians renounce that with pauline doctrine of lawlessness. So I can't go back to Christianity. 4) Christianity doctrine does not only work against Jesus pbuh. But work against entire of prophets teachings . All prophets preach that no one can die for sins of others. God is absolutely ONE. Yet Christianity belief to the opposite of biblical teaching. So I can't go back to Christianity 10) All what Christians know is to insult and mock Muslims and create lies against Islam. How can I go back to that faith….that is on rampage to degrade other faith with lies.? LAST BUT NOT LEAST Christians reject Arabic language and don't recognize Arabic at all. Hence you will find them saying Allah is not God. Yet their Christian's Arabic counterparts and Arabic bible use the same Allah for God. How can I go back to such faith of ignorance. Where ignorance is the order of the day. Where the one with bad mouth is seen as a scholar? Where fake prophets scorn their money on the daylight.? Where its followers are desperate for miracles? Where laws of God are useless? Where all prophets are despised as sinners? So how can God sent sinners to guide us? (6:111) Even if We had sent angels down to them and the dead had spoken to them, and even if We had assembled before them all the things, face to face, they would still not believe unless it be Allah's will that they believe. Most of them behave in utter ignorance. 3:69 "A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not." 5) Jews whom Christians say they worship same God. Renounce Christianity. Jews don't believe in any of Christianity doctrine or interpretation. Jews favour Islam than Christianity. Jews say Christianity is idolatry roman pagans faith who wanted to overthrow Judaism. 6) all Christians claim to be guided by the holy spirit but they are heavily divided in churches. Interpretation. And faith. So this is unforgivable sins in the bible. They play with holy Spirit.so I can't go back to it. 7) Christianity work together with satan and evil men. That to say Christianity celebrates crucifixion of innocent man. Yet it is satan who inspired Judas. Luke 22:3. And it is evil men who planned to kill Jesus. (Matthew 26:3-5). Despite that the bible say in Hebrew that Jesus CHRIS was not crucified but saved from death by God. 8 ) Christianity follow pagans abomination practices. Human sacrifice is forbidden anywhere in the bible. Deuteronomy 12:30-31. It is forbidden filthy practice yet Christianity belief that God did the same evil practices. 9) Christianity insult God to the lowest point. Christianity belief God was in the womb of a woman. Was born took breast fed. Defecated. Changed napkins. Taken by satan. Cried and died naked. How can I go back to such faith?. With a belief that even a small child can grade it as a blasphemous nonsense. 10) Christianity rejected laws of God…yet they are the first people to follow the law made by men. How can I go back to such faith? That glorify ruling of men than God. (6:125) Thus, (it is a fact that) whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his breast for Islam;and whomsoever He wills to let go astray, He causes his breast to become strait and constricted, as if he were climbing towards the heaven. Thus Allah lays the abomination (of flight from and hatred of Islam) on those who do not believe (To open someone's breast to Islam' means to make him feel fully convinced of the truth of Islam and to remove all his doubts, hesitations and reluctance.) وَهٰذَا صِرَاطُ رَبِّكَ مُسۡتَقِيۡمًا ؕ قَدۡ فَصَّلۡنَا الۡاٰيٰتِ لِقَوۡمٍ يَّذَّكَّرُوۡنَ (6:126) even though this way is the straight way of your Lord, and We have distinguished its signs to those who heed to admonition. لَهُمۡ دَارُ السَّلٰمِ عِنۡدَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمۡ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ (6:127) Theirs shall be an abode of peace with their Lord - their Protector - in recompense for all they have done. 93 The righteous will enjoy 'the Abode of Peace' since there he will be safe from every misfortune and evil. ISLAM IS THE ONLY TRUE RELIGION FROM ALLAH THE TRUE GOD. I AM SO HAPPY NOW THAT AM A MUSLIM. I INVITE YOU TO ISLAM." https://news-af.feednews.com/news/detail/77b2a3a9f342c424cc5fe79a4673fe2c?client=news |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-27 TOPIC: A BROTHER TO THE PRODIGAL TEXT: LUKE 15:25-32(NKJV) 25. "Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26. "So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27. "And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.' 28. "But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. 29. "So he answered and said to [his] father, 'Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. 30. 'But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.' 31. "And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32. 'It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.' " STUDY In today’s lesson, we see the reaction of the elder brother of the prodigal son. He had been a wonderful son, serving their father faithfully without transgressing in anyway. Hearing the sound of music and dancing as he returned from where he had been toiling in the field, he became angry, to the extent that he would not go inside the house. It took the father’s loving plea to help him to understand. As this son was angry, so were the Pharisees with Christ for receiving sinners. So, too, the eminently respectable self-righteous in the church often are, when sinners, the despised and outcast, are converted. As his father pleaded with him, God in Christ still entreats all such to join in the welcome of the repentant. He laid hold on the fact that he never transgressed, portraying a self-righteous spirit. His charges also show that while living with his father, he was far away from him in spirit. The father pleaded with him, trying to bring him to a better frame of mind, as Christ pleads with Israel. From the beginning, all the estate belonged to him, yet he was not aware of it. The father affirmed that all he had belonged to him. “And if children, then heirs -heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ …” (Romans 8:17). Are you like this envious son? PRAYER: Father, teach me not to be envious, and help me to realise my place in your House. Amen. Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

iammarvellux:Sorry, buddy. I don't do blind faith. We are to investigate a belief system before we accept it. There is nothing like having "holy spirit" to understand. Your Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-28 TOPIC: CHRIST COMMENDS CROOKEDNESS? TEXT: LUKE 16:1-13(NKJV) 1. He also said to His disciples: "There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods. 2. "So he called him and said to him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.' 3. "Then the steward said within himself, 'What shall I do? For my master is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. 4. 'I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.' 5. "So he called every one of his master's debtors to [him,] and said to the first, 'How much do you owe my master?' 6. "And he said, 'A hundred measures of oil.' So he said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.' 7. "Then he said to another, 'And how much do you owe?' So he said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' And he said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.' 8. "So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light. 9. "And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. 10. "He who [is] faithful in [what is] least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in [what is] least is unjust also in much. 11. "Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches?] 12. "And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own? 13. "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." STUDY And the Lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely. For the children of this world are wiser than the children of light” (v..The question now is - does Christ commend crookedness? All endowments, talents and leadership positions come from or are allowed by God and hence, He is interested on how theyare managed. We are custodians of God’s gifts and endowments (v.2). When the rich man in today’s text commended his unjust steward,it was not because he liked how the steward squandered his resources, but he commended his skill and shrewdness in making provisions for his future (v.4). Jesus used this parable to teach his followers – children of light - to be skillful and wise in using the resources He gave them to secure a place in heaven for themselves (Mt. 6:19-20). Using our resources to show love to others, secures us a place in God’s Kingdom (Mt. 25:35, 36, 40). The point this passage brought out is clear enough, which is, being generous and responsible with one’s resources. It is only then the Lord can commit more valuable spiritual things to you (vs. 10-13). Our Lord Jesus did not commend crookedness but shrewdness and wisdom. Be wise! Use your resources wisely. PRAYER: Lord, help me to understand that by helping the needy, I’m investing in heaven. Amen Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-02-29 TOPIC: CARRIED BY ANGELS TEXT: LUKE 16:19-31(NKJV) 19. " There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20. "But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21. "desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22. "So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23. "And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24. "Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25. "But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26. 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' 27. "Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, 28. 'for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29. "Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' 30. "And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' 31. "But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' " STUDY There are two popular opinions about the end and means of a matter. Some believe that the means justifies the end while for many, the end justifies the means. For the believer, the former stands. The story of the rich man on earth ended with “died and was buried” while that of Lazarus ended with “died and was carried by the angels.” In life, the rich man enjoyed affluence but ended up with an eternity full of anguish while Lazarus, having been a destitute in pain, received an unending joy and comfort in the bosom of Abraham. The rich man’s problem wasn’t his wealth but his means, “negligence of God’s precepts.” He missed the means which is “hearing and adhering to the word of God.” Hence, instead of being carried by angels, he was buried into an everlasting torment. There is no doubt that Lazarus, being a beggar, must have suffered. The fact that he was carried by angels shows that he got his means right and thus ended well. Abraham’s fatherly recommendation is that here on earth we have Moses and the prophets and should hear them. Take heed to this fatherly advice because there is no repentance in the grave. PRAYER: Father, please grant me the grace to hear and to keep Thy precepts in Jesus Name. Amen Credits : Daily Fountain Devotional |

DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL Date: 2020-03-01 TOPIC: TRIALS AND TEMPTATIONS TEXT: JAMES 1:2-19(NKJV) 2. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3. knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4. But let patience have [its] perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8. [he is] a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. 9. Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, 10. but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. 11. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits. 12. Blessed [is] the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13. Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. 16. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. 19. So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; STUDY The testing or trial of our faith is quite different from temptation. Testing is like examination and involves God trying to know what one will do in the face of challenges of life. God is usually involved in testing. Temptation is being enticed by what we love or desire. It comes from the devil. God does not tempt us(vs. 13-14). When we come out of trial unharmed, we receive a very great reward. Being tempted is not sin but yielding to it, is. When we yield to temptation, we end up in disaster(v.15). Abraham went through testing when he was asked to offer Isaac his son(Gen. 22:1-2). He passed the test and was commended and promoted. Samson was tempted by the devil through Delilah. He yielded to the temptation and ended up being blind and finally committing suicide(Judges 16:20-21, 30). Both testing and temptation help our faith to grow or cause disaster to our faith. What are you going through presently – testing or temptation? How are you handling it? God is interested and is watching how you will come out of it. Will you allow your experience end you up in victory or disaster? We have this assurance from God in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that He will not allow any temptation to overcome us but will make a way of escape for us. Hand over what you are passing through now to God and allow Him to be in charge. PRAYER: My times are in your hands O Lord; do not allow me to derail from you. WELCOME TO MARCH 2020 IN JESUS NAME!
