I'm not saying there is no Italian, I just want to plead with them to ensure that adequate measures be put in place to prevent real and verifiable Convid 19 carrier(s) from getting to Nigeria.

I swear...I mean I read the comments in here and it's pathetic.

If the news is that people are dropping dead (even if there's absolutely no way to validate this), they'll wail and lament and another avenue to blame buhari and his gang.

But since the news is great news (as it should be for any sane human), they come up with all sorts of spurious and ridiculous assumptions, while downplaying the authenticity of the news.

Arteta posted it online himself. Odoi did the same thing.
They saw no point in hiding the fact that they were infected.

When Liberian came here with ebola we knew his name. We saw him.

Now Italian has come with covid-19 nobody knows his name or even has seen him.

Bottom line. The story of Italian with covid-19 in nigeria is scam.

Money must be squandered.

Later nonsense leaders who cannot control the common coronavirus will tell me my country is a shithole.

When Nigeria achieves the superpower status that it so richly has potential to achieve, I only wish that they will send me to the US as an ambassador. The queue that will form outside the Nigerian embassy door eh, no be here. I will make sure that no US citizen can step foot in Nigeria without at least a weeks' camping in the street outside the embassy. I will even be calling them in at odd hours and no response when I call is automatic disqualification. I will stamp their passport DENIED VISA in capital red letters and ban them from stepping foot in our embassy for the next 10 years.

We should be thankful and grateful that the virus did not spread in Nigeria and Africa as a whole rather boasting. I do not believe this is because we were better prepared at all. If it was are prepared, how many people have been identified and stopped at the airport since then or are you saying only that 1 person has entered Nigeria with the virus?

There has also been some suggestion the climate in Africa reduced the spread, i do not know if this is scientifically proven what i will say is the corona virus is a type of flu and Nigeria does not typically have flu epidemics compared to western countries where it is an annual issue so I do not agree it is because we were so ready. While I have not checked properly, the main epicenters of the virus in China Wuhan and Hubei have cold winter climates while the number of cases in the warmer regions were a lot smaller. Warmer countries like Thailand only had cases that came from outside rather than sread inside the country so all this suggests climate has an impact, and as I said Nigerians never deal with the flu anyway. They deal with malaria typhoid etc but not flu virus.

Anyway all this to say instead of boasting I think we should be focused on how we can mitigate the economic impact of the virus plus the oil price drop, that will have far reaching implications for us.

So, Mr Commissioner, you are assuring us you have tracked down all the individuals that the Italian, first index case, came in contact with, then the individuals that these potential second index cases came in contact, as well as the individuals that these individuals also came in contact with, and so on and so forth. Government officials dey lie. We are talking about tracking thousands of people because it's like a chain reaction.... let him tell us how many people the government tracked. Using the Uber driver the Italian came in contact with as example, that day alone the driver would have been in contact with 5 to 10 more passengers depending on time of the day he picked the guy. Now, these passengers would have been in contact with other individuals as secondary contacts, and on and on. That's just one person. Government magic!

It shows that our politician can loot anything lootable, but will never play with what may lead to their own death. Nigerian Politicians will never loot any money meant to cub serious Virus like Ebola and Covid19, Nigeria is a cash cow and they will do all possible to keep it alive and maintain the status.

This kind of statement is one of the reason Nigeria is suffering terror attacks. Nigerians are so gullible to the extent if when they are told to put hands into a cobra that it won't bite they do it. This country is really caused angry angry

I am telling you. Some people in this country just want bad news always.
And interestingly, people who don't want bad news now were the ones who wanted, and were clamouring for it, during GEJ's time.
The country is just deeply divided and the hypocrisy is everywhere.
May God save us!

We still need to be cautious though.

The battle against COVID 19 is not over yet. People still travel in, there are probably some unidentified cases out there, and so on.

While congratulating our health authorities, LET US BE VIGILANT.
