Pipeline vandalism is a steady source of income criminals in that area, even the police and soldiers are involved. Technology needs to be incorporated in pipeline monitoring. We can invent things like conductor strips that will run along the pipe na, any tampering will easily be noticeable and the exact location will be known also.

I stay not too far from the cantonment and my house shook today the way it shook that day. I agree that this may be a bomb

Heard that loud sound and vibration, my building was shaking... I ran outside, I thought it was a tanker close by that exploded close, don't know it's something from so a far distance.

I heard the explosion in Maryland.Thought it was a gunshot or probably just another heavy sound.

Possible, maybe not a bomb but some form of tremor (earthquake or?)

The impact was felt as far as Ogudu, Ikeja, Alapere etc

Even the shock blast was felt in apapa here men I heard it was a tipper dat was offloading sand and eventually caught fire and triggered the blast

In reference to your first question alone : Not when it is a more complicated system with sensors that will trigger an alarm system in real time.
