Lagos Moves To Stop Church, Mosque Services by SamuelOamen(op): 4:23pm On Mar 18, 2020
The Lagos State Government has stated it will request religious leaders to stop Friday (Juma’at) and Sunday church service.

Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, stated this on Wednesday at a briefing.

He said the religious leaders will be advised to shut down services in the interest of the public.

He said this a few hours after Lagos recorded its seventh coronavirus case.

“We are all aware that the Federal Government asked the National Youth Service Corps to shut down orientation camps; yesterday (Tuesday) the Commissioner for Home Affairs said there will be a meeting with religious leaders today (Wednesday).

“It is going to be suggested to them to maybe stop Friday and Sunday services – wherever we have large gatherings.

“Going by the new development, I am sure they will be advised to shut down the services in the interest of the public and all of us. I am sure they are going to comply,” Omotosho said.

Why all these drastic measures when u could have curbed it from the onset
Re: Lagos Moves To Stop Church, Mosque Services by MyVILLAGEpeople(m):
Welcome development. We are totally in support of this. It's evident that this virus doesn't respond to all these useless religious prayers. Even Mecca and the Vatican city have applied same measures. Let's take precautionary measures on this Corona virus.

useless leaders! stop all travel from affected countries, the duara man said no.
now they want a reason to blame religious leaders for their foolishness
Re: Lagos Moves To Stop Church, Mosque Services by Nobody: 4:39pm On Mar 18, 2020
If they had closed borders and stopped flights from affected countries from coming into the country, we won't have gotten to this.

Still a good development. Stay in your house and worship your God.

I pray it doesn't get to the level where they would tell us to stay at home...

All churches and mosques in Nigeria should be shut down for now. If Buhari likes, let him not act fast and stop this virus from spreading all over Nigeria (if it has not already spread) because, if he gets the virus, he must die because the virus kills mostly old people who already have underlying illnesses.
