Nigerians and naivete ...

Fraudsters spend their time on how to beat the system.

I tell you our wannabe smart peeps: Paste your account name, bank and account number with an actual balance north of N15 million here.

Then come back in two weeks time to give your testimony.

This is 2020 people...

Bros, take it from a banker. Unless a fraudster gets hold of your card details, passwords or online banking details, there is no way they can remove money from your account. Else, the bank will be held responsible.

Your bank account is like your personal identity.

Posting bank accounts online is dangerous.

You could be used as a money mule.

Your account stolen and used for financial identity theft.

Your name stolen and used for fraud.

Fraudsters can use your banking info to send stolen or scammed money into it, if your account is flagged, it will be freezed.

It can be used to sponsor terrorism activities, that one na big trouble you don enter.

Money laundering ko,

You are talking in the nonsense, you are speaking in the rubbish.Hahaha, wetin musa no go hear for Nairaland?.
What is the difference between your bank account number online and sending it to someone who wants to transfer money to you for any purpose. For someone who wants to help people with info, you are dishing out misinformation instead.

Stop asking dumb questions.

So you think it is difficult to get your phone numbers?

Have you never got an anonymous caller tell your full names?

He tells u he made a mistake and then tells u to withdraw the 10m, pack it in a brief case, take 100k out of it as yours then meet him wherever he is to deliver the briefcase AND YOU AGREE. Are you now an accomplice in a grand money laundering conspiracy or not?

For you to agree to this in the first place means u dnt have sense at all at all and does not deserve to live among humans to avoid transfer of senselessness.

All these stories u guys are putting up are mere fictions, babyfaceafrica has said all that needs to be said but some persons are just here arguing what they dnt know about, what is so big in accepting to learn when u dnt know.

How many banks have refunded hundreds if not thousands of wire fraud victims in Nigeria?

I think you need to visit prison often, most of the people waiting on trial dont even vomit crime,it depends on the level of crime commited. The only thing that can safe you is if You didn't withdraw the money but if you do , you will need a good lawyer and a police report to get out of the crime. The only way to avoid this thing is to know the person or not to give your account out.

babyfaceafrica:

Last last.. They will tell you ro refund the money and block your account.. You ain't in trouble.. You need to read more scams and see how these things work. So if I am broke and I ask my friend for money and he gives me.. The next day, he is caught by efcc and he mention that he has given me part of the money.... What will I be accused of?

You need more research on how fraud and waya waya are done... All these accounts thrown here are safe!! Unless the accounts owner is involved! No fraudster will just pick up an account here and transfer them stolen funds there without first involving you.. Jeez!!
The way op put it up is not the way it works. Someone cannot just transfer any fraudulent money into any account he saw online, in which he expects to collect same sum from the a/c owner without the knowledge of the a/c owner. If I put just my a/c no., with my name online, maybe for an assistance, gbam, 10 million naira enters the a/c, if my phone no., is part of the details I put up, and someone calls me and request maybe 9million to him, I sense danger and report to my bank and police. If out of greed, I consent and play along, if anything goes wrong, I'm equally part of the deal and should be held as accomplice. People that should be careful are POS operators, who give out thier a/c details to strangers.

Here's some of the ways they may get your identity...
1. Drop your bank account for free giveaway. - YOUR REAL NAME AND FOR USE WITH THEIR BANK INSIDERS
2. Retweet if you are * insert month * baby. - YOUR ACTUAL BIRTH MONTH
3. Let me see those where born on e.g Feb 14 like me, retweet. - YOUR ACTUAL BIRTHDATE
4. 1990's kids lets gather here to know ourselves, retweet and comment your year of birth. - YOUR BIRTH-YEAR
5. Fake T.I.N registration where you have to drop your date of birth and bvn. - D.O.B AND BVN
6. The "Me and My Mother/father/spouse/kids" picture trend - you are sharing your family pictures with strangers?
7. Let me see my "insert name of town" people, retweet.

I can tell u with 100% certainty that its not really the fault of the bank, customers with those kind of complaints don't tell u the full story.. They won't tell u the part where someone called them, or the part where they sent a code back to a number.. Until u have been there, this may still b a bit difficult for u to understand

I think that's where their massive profits will come from. The buyers will be Spying on the Account for whatsoever reason best known to them. Your guess Is as good as mine. I hope u are aware of Facebook Saga that time......Peoples Data Is the New Oil....[/quoteI] I don't think they have access to your BVN.

In most cases, the 'victim' had a part to play. If money is withdrawn from your account, using your password, you have absolutely no claim. For instance, the popular quick teller fraud in Nigeria, the victims usually give out their otp! . I have heard lots of fraud complaint, there is usually a reccuring theme: the victims gave away vital info. (Account number is not vital info)
Money can not leave your account, unless you give out your password or card details.

Well, I noticed you are hooked on bet, that’s why your reasoning and lending money on fairmoney and other platforms and you don’t pay back, then they debit you based on the terms and condition, then you come here to spew trash...

so how come effc have arrested people collecting cash on behalf of people they dont know?

You are at fault, if you collect cash from people you don't know!!!.. If someone transfers money to your account, it is your imperative and decision to know where the money comes from and you can then decide what to do with the money.. But to say dropping of accounts will make fraudsters use your account... Na lie!!!.. How will they collect it?
. Whether they collect it or not, efcc will still aprehend you for ransom money enter ya bank account. its very risky. do not give ua bank account to d one u dnt know.

Banks do KYC for a reason.

If you launder stolen funds through your account, for criminals you don't know, you don enter one chance be that.

You could become an accomplice to kidnapping or fraud.

Futher more to what I earlier stated herein, people should avoid giving out their a/c details to strangers or even friends if you don't know them or even the ones very close to you can take advantage of your ignorance and use that to rope you into problem. POS operators should be carefull too. A car dealer fall victim to such when some guys walked in to his car lot and agreed on a car for #6 mil naira. Collected his a/c details and left. He later rcvd an alert of 5 mill naira. They came back to him that they couldn't get up to 6 mil and that they needed their money back in cash and that he should give them #4 mill and hold #1 mill for his troubles. He gave them the #4 mill and they left. Later he was arrested as the money was through kidnap syndicates who used his a/c for the extortion. Greed killed him 'cus of #1 mill.
