One of the reasons could be, ladies plan their divorce strategy when they are about to get married. And you know who is favored 80% of the time when there’s a divorce.

I always notice that too. Guys are also scared of getting married over there, irrespective of their employment status, dunno why

How many Nigerian single ladies in Canada did you meet? How many Nigerian single men in Canada did you meet? How many native single Canadians did you meet? The truth is that the country is not as socially inclined as Nigeria, UK or USA, so most single people take a while to meet other single people. In fact, the Canadian singles rely a lot on online hookups like tinder, etc to meet people hence the reason our yahoo brothers are making some money there now.

Well, maybe if you traveled to Canada too you would know what I'm saying. Looking at it from Nigeria, you can never understand. We wey dey shuttle, we know.

There's this Nigerian girl that has been following my brother up and down in New Orleans USA, she is very brillant and top of her department in the University. It got to a point she started threatening my brother's life and setting up my brothers several times thereby landing him in serious trouble that almost sent him to jail. My brother was just a JJC and hasn't gotten used to the system over there. This girl almost wrecked my brother's life because of marriage. My brother ran to Illinois and has been there ever since making a living for himself.. But this same girl still calls him almost everyday with different numbers and even send people to call him too. My brother is very very tired of her disturbance.
The truth is that only Nigerian guys can have time for 99% of our Nigerian girls over there but most Nigerian guys there are not interested, they prefer foreigner and i don't blame them, you can't compare a foreign woman life's approach with that of a Nigerian woman.. Only way out is to be humble and find a man here in Nigeria before going there.

Yeah I have a cousin in her 40s.
She used to be miserable living single in the northern province. Could break down from depression every winter.
Then one year, she married a local white boy and had kids after trying many years.
We are so happy for her.
But now she's depressed again... something to do with the children stressing her and the husband's issues..

God will help us in this life

$15 per hour is the minumum wage. That's what moooooost people earn, Nigerians inclusive. On the average, it gets to about $2k per month. But the bills are also expensive. Phone is about $45 per month, rent varies depending on where you live, it is usually about $500 anyways. I think some girls I know are paying $800. Those working better jobs are able to pay higher rent.

But trust me, most will give up all that money if only they can get a guy. Most of them are staring down a tunnel into their future and that future has no kids and no man even things continue the way it is. The chances are very high that the average Nigerian girl immigrant will end up unmarried. Not that it is important that they get married o, but the problem is that they all WANT it.
It's not about Nigerians alone, they hardly get married here in Canada, it's all about boyfriend or girlfriend. You will see a lady of 40 telling you she's never married in her life but she's having kids with different men. So it's like a way of life. You hardly get a boyfriend or girlfriend because no place of meeting unlike Nigeria. You can't just see a girl on the road and approach her. So it's not about Nigerians but whites inclusive

The positive thing is that they are able to earn well. I met one that was working in first bank back in Nigeria and earning about 120k a month. Now she earns a little over 3.5k canadian dollars on the average working customer service after a lot of overtime. She is always stressed out sha. 3.5k is about 980k.
It looks like she is on course to save a lot of money before mid-year, and plans to visit Nigeria by July. She didn't tell me explicitly, but clearly she's going back to see how she can revive a few friendships back home that may lead to marriage. She is soooooo lonely. She cried sef. Eyah!
Lol you’ve just shown that you haven’t been to western world , lived in the west or Have very limited knowledge about living in the west . $3.5k per month is a low salary in Canada below the national average ($50k p/a)which means she’s also on a struggle in Canada . 3.5k in Canada is not equivalent to 980k in Nigeria (purchasing power).

What you said, is the REALITY, even in the US.
U travel down to your community and pick a Lady of your choice, only for her to be turned into a DRAGON few minutes after arrival in the US, all because of FREEDOM.
Most NIGERIAN LADIES who suddenly become Emergency NURSES by virtue of assistance from their diaspora based Husbands suddenly develop EGO.... and can decimate their husbands, rendering them homeless.

IF U get a GOOD WIFE abroad, just keep going for special thanksgiving.
My Brothers and Uncles have suffered in their Hands.
We no Longer recommend NIGERIAN LADIES to my people in diaspora.
MEN should go out and choose their heart throbs themselves, from any continent of their choice.

It's very disheartening that a Man will travel several hours back to AFRICA to get a wife, only for him to Land a terrible package..

BEST ADVICE FOR THE CONFUSED MEN.
Please, Ensure you MARRY the LADY that Loves you more than you Love her.
This is where the ADVANTAGE lies.

You said it all, even in Europe, it's same. Some Nigerian guys will rather take their chances with oyinbo who love them die compared to naija babe wey fit Bleep them up later all because of freedom they never enjoyed in Nigeria.

I live in Canada, I married my wife in Nigeria, now she as the custody of our 3 children,
She determines when and if I can see our children.
I pay her child support every month which is not a problem to me because I will still spend the money on my children if we are all still living together.
She takes all the child benefit(money) the government gives our children.
She almost destroyed me here.
I don't know my children day care.
The truth is that she caught me..........and I apologized but the freedom, independence and money make most of Nigerian women to brake their Home and later live a lonely life.
I NEVER slap or abuse my wife, that is what God use to save me.
If I may ask, do you think I will ever think of marrying a Nigerian woman here in Canada or come to Nigeria to pick a woman? NEVER

NOT ALL WOMEN ARE LIKE THAT, THERE ARE LOT OF HOOD WOMEN, NO MATTER WHAT; THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THEIR ROOT AND HOW THINGS ARE DONE

The kids will grow up and ask questions and know the truth. Sorry

so you actually believe your mom wasn't treated as a human by your father? Lol
Look, the problem is that you people scream too much about things you know little to nothing about

actually yes. my mom was treated very much like a human. My father joined the equal rights bandwagon ages ago. When you have strong women, the only thing you can do is adapt. If your success and happiness is attributed to the oppression of others (women or the LGBT community) you are no different from the ones who oppressed our ancestors for their happiness and success. Think about it... and if you feel okay with being the same as them, expect the same retaliation that they got wink

if you don't respect my existence, you can expect my resistance.

My brother, not only in Canada, come and observe small in Nigeria.

If you have time, take time out to visit Lekki, Ikoyi or Victoria Island and you would see the height of loneliness (Guys & Babes). See beyond the big houses, the flashy cars and the rest. Look at the person living in the house or riding the big car.

I will however, not discourage anyone (male or female) from travelling for greener pasture or to earn more money as far as you can cope.

Making more money also comes with depression and it isn't everyone that know how to cope or manage the pressure that comes with having more money at your disposal. You have all the resources to make you comfortable but can't find true love.

You don't know if the babe or guy you are dating is dating you for your money or really love you. Making more money also comes with arrogance. You don't wanna take shit from anyone, because he earns good money and you also earn good money, so why should I take shit from you.

Until you reach certain level, you can't understand what it takes to survives there.

Well said buddy!
I could testify to this.. While chasing dreams and here comes a shadow...

More money.. More problem!

Now a whole lot of water has passed under the bridge!

This is very funny. So as a Nigerian looking to immgrate to Canada I should think twice because of men? Men? Hahahahah... You people won't really allow women to make their choices in peace. Ha!

I don't think it's advisable to dump your immigration dreams because of men, No, never!!
But it's good to get hooked up with someone before immigrating or probably plan it together, it might not bother now but when you must have been so comfortable over there, and as far you've got the plans of making a family and there's no one around you, you might start feeling lonely and resort to what the OP is writing about!!
