Fellow nairalanders,

I have a pressing issue on ground and I need your contribution. My boyfriend has been working for about 5 years now. We've been dating for a while now and he has been so nice and caring. The best ever.

In my past experience in relationships, I have been quite generous but the guys turned out to be ingrates so I vowed never to give any boy my penny again.

When I met my man, he melted my hardened heart with the love he showered on me. On one occasion, I have borrowed him money and he paid me back. Now he's asking me to borrow him another money. Because of this lockdown, he has gone so broke and he opened up to me. Initially, I did not believe him but when I noticed he has run out of food stuffs and the provisions he normally stock his house with, I believed him. I have more than enough money. The money he's asking for is like chicken change to me. But I don't want him to get used to borrowing from me and I have vowed never to give a guy my money again except if he's my husband.

Please I need advice. Fellow ladies like me, what do you think? Should I borrow him?

For good 5 years, nothing to show for it,my dear ,trade with caution, you can give him your palliative for Covid19, after this whole pandemic, let him define where the relationship is going, Please take this very serious,5 years no be beans, am a lady too, the number of years is becoming a joke, my contribution thou, you know what you want

One thing I am pretty sure about is that you're a miserable being but to be this heartless and stupid is what I don't quite understand. Y did God even created people like you in the first place?

Lol...y'all saying lend him, give him, dash him. Am I his mother? Doesn't he have family members? What if I wasn't in his life? The relationship ain't even up to a year. I have sorted him out with some food stuffs lately and also gave him some little cash and he still wants to borrow that sum from me. So easy for You guys to say. You guys are not to be trusted.
I am not arguing with you at all. Please don't give him. You have dehumanized him enough here and ridiculed him to the lowest point because of 40K.
Just send me his Account Number and Phone Number or if you don't have his account number just send his phone number.
Here's my Email: barangresources80@gmail.com.
Thanks you.
The guy deserves better.

I don't want to waste my time arguing with you here, it will serve no useful purpose. Even if you give him now, it makes no sense, the heart of the giver is what God looks at. thanks

woman instead of been here thanking everyone saying don't borrow him, be careful, doesn't he have a family,

why don't you go ahead and tell him you dont have money, abi you think heaven will fall?? you won't be the first or last to decline helping someone.

you are not a nice somebody, so stop looking for validation to be wicked, just do your thing and life goes on, the truth is that whether u give him the money or not, he will definitely survive this lockdown and come out stronger while you will remain with your conscience.

you called this person "the best ever" yet we are on 13 pages over whether u should help or not even after you have seen that he has no food or provision, something your fellow woman on this forum provided for people she probably hasn't met.

if you think that guys survival revolves around you, then your very delusional, so stop already with this air of grandeur you exude all over this thread, an igbo adage said" ihe ana amaghi otu esi eme ya, otu esi emeghi ga adi" meaning that something that seems as if there is no solution, the solution will come.

on a personal note drop the guys account number and phone number with me, i will give him the money, atleast don't be wicked and a witch

You don't need to. Lend him. Any mo ey whatsoever. If you know that way he normally gave you money for up keep, that same way count like 20k and give him. Then tell him 'Bae it is not lone but grant' what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

If I were in your shoes , I won't even borrow him. I will dash him.
Personally I don't borrow to friends how much more to someone I love and I'm dating . Although my exes in the past misuse such kindness thinking I'm maga.
But with the man I'm with today, I can give him the world if he wants it .

Cos he's an angel in human form and given me dash amounts up to 9 digits .Not borrow o but dash !

Why wont I give him too if he's in need ?
In fact he deserves everything I own . That's just me.

So please dash him not borrow .

Lol bro, i saw the thread yesterday and just laughed it off.
Now can you imagine a man opens a thread with a topic - Should I Lend My Girlfriend Money? 40k at that and it is a chicken change to the guy.
Just imagine the kind of response the guy will get from both guys and ladies.
Some will even tell the girl to dump him that he his too stingy and heartless for not helping his girlfriend when he knows she is in need.
Some will say if the girl cheats to get the money, the guy shouldn't complain.
Can't you see we men are in trouble? Relationship wise?

Yes, it's her money. But the moment she brought her relationship affair here on social media, she should take any response that comes her way.

As for me being a hypocrite, no need to argue this. You don't know me. But be rest assured that if my babe ask me for money because she has no foodstuff (because her source of income has been stopped due to the lockdown), I will give her the amount without coming to ask first on Nairaland. Coupled with the fact that what she asked for is "chicken change" to me and I have enough!

Wow! If he doesn't borrow from you who will he borrow from? You confessed he loves you so much and he paid back the last one. My dear don't wait till you get a husband before you lend him money. You also said it's chicken change to you... Common! I borrow money from my partner, I pay back all the time to make sure I am credit worthy.

If you have more than enough, and the money he's asking for is just a chicken change, then you shouldn't even be considering lending, you should give.
Not all relationships will lead to marriage at the end of the day, it's all about how much positive impact you have had on the other person. So stock his house and give him some cash as long as its not a big deal for you.
