There was zero kneading involved.

In my opinion they go best with strawberry jam. Such a treat. we used to go to the fair just for smoked Turkey legs and scones filled with strawberries jam.

Ok for more clarification ,
There is a difference between the tomatoe souce you prepare with eggs for white yam or fried yam , in that case your tomatoe souce or stew as many use to called it should be half done

But if you're preparing a stew for white rice or for jollof rice, you must first cook dry or fry dry all the waters in the fresh tomatoes before adding tin tomatoes, if not your danm stew or jollof rice will never bring out the sweet flavor

½ cup white sugar

5 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup butter

1 egg, beaten

1 cup milk

Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter. Mix the egg and milk in a small bowl, and stir into flour mixture until moistened.
Step 3
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead very briefly. Roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick round. Cut into 8 wedges, and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4
Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
