Ngl you're right… I wish I went to boot camp instead or just focused on learning programming by myself. I literally wasted time to get a paper I don't use.
Attend Uni, spend an average of 1M, use up four years of your life and end up with an average income of 70k-1m per month.

Crap thread. You have a case to settle within you.It has nothing to do with schooling in Nigeria or abroad.

We have outstanding individuals that schooled in Nigeria making waves in abroad and we also have illiterates that schooled abroad with nothing in their heads.

It's about destiny, not about what you read. School is just there to expose you to challenges of life not actually to practise what you read.


Schooling abroad does not make you a great achiever but what you have inside you no matter where you studied.

The op made some valid points even though he presented his pont in a shabby, prideful and arrogant way. Nigeria need more of vocational training and currently relevant skill acquisition centers that will focus more on practical and real life challenges than all those paper university course.


A lot of courses need to be totally removed from Nigerian higher institution curriculum and replaced with latest skills in vogue.

Nigeria need a total focus on human capital development programmes to create problem solvers, job creators instead of job-seeking graduates that our universities, polytechnics and colleges of education are churning out every year and littering the streets with more problems.



We need to build next generation to become more of problem solvers through technology skills, science, computer, etc.


We should have less number of art, social and humanity course cos they are useless to our current situation as a dying country that need urgent resuscitation

There are also electronics brands like philips, Siemens and co that are still produced locally but for most of the job to be done faster and cheaper you need Chinese workers for that.

nigerian eduction is not useless but then there some programmes and courses in nigerian universities dat need to be phased out or upgraded for example someone reading mining when there is no mines in nigeria.After reading such a course for good five years he or she now opts to work in the bank or become a bet naija agent because there no options for mine jobs in naija.i consider that as complete waste of funds.i cant just pay a huge tuition fees for five yrs just to become a bet naija agent or be selling recharge card online.why not just do a programme that u can use as an occupation when u graduate.thats just the problem with our eductional system.many of the courses in the nigerian unversities can never be applied in the job market.funny thing is that most of the school curriculum are still in the 1960s and 1970s setting.nigerian has to upgrade its university system biko.and again majority of these thugs working for politicians 99 percent of them are university graduates.u can imagine a polititcian giving u 5k to go and waste an opponent.what a disapointment.

If you say we have not got it right in the area of science and technology I will say you are right but mind you in the mix of all these, there are still some science and technology graduates who are equal to the task be it theoretical and practical so sometimes this whole thing is based on individuals. The reading of textbooks, journals, postulating theories will still remain in the Arts and Humanities and this is obtained everywhere in the world. So challenge those in government to look critically into science and technology and change the curriculum the graduate is only using what is made available to him with all other personal efforts not everybody is fortunate to study abroad. And again remember Nigerian education system was not like this in the 50ties, 60ties and 70ties. The problem is not actually the graduates but the present crop of leaders who has vehemently refuse to stir the country aright.
