To add to what Justwise has said, your 1st day of the 28-day count should be the day after you deposited the required funds + extra into your bank account. The 1st day of the 28-day count is the day on which your opening balance shows the required funds; your opening balance on the day you deposit the required funds won't reflect the deposit.

justwise:

Yes, but to have peace of mind deposit more so as to take care of exchange rate fluctuation. e.g rather than 476 you round it up 490-500.

Few people have been refused a visa because of exchange rate fluctuation though i have also read from people who was given a visa despite the fact that their money dropped a bit on the day the bank statement was printedout.

Please, I need explicit explanation of the 28 days rule in regards to account statement for UK student visa putting currency instability into consideration.

let say I funded my account yesterday with #5.36M and at yesterday's exchange rate (oanda) at £1 equal to #476 and it was sufficient for my maintance. if tomorrow naira looses value to £1 to #490 and on the day I want to print my statement it went to (£1= #465) . did I meet the requirement as requested by UK embassy?

It seems UK schools are already having greenlight on how academic program will be run for September intake. I personally have gotten a mail from Birmingham City university and USW on how academic activities will be carried out starting from September.

Birmingham City university was more explicit and clear saying most majority of learning will be on campus learning and the school intend to put into consideration social distancing and other measures in place.

This is also similar to what USW said and I noticed someone also talked about the information he/she got from Bournemouth university.

Same with Sheffield Hallam University.

Congratulations. It is a good field to get into as I regard mental health nurses as the heartbeat of the multidisciplinary team that offers care to the patients.

Good practise to put as much extra as you possibly can incase the pound go higher than you imagine. It affected a friend last dec when the pound jumped higher than expected

If you have a buffer then great. If the pound falls lower then even greater..... but what u should note. The currency during the 28 days boils down to what is the exchange rate on the date you submit the application . So that the date used . If you dont have a buffer , you just have to keep checking and only submit your application that you are sure the exchange rate make you meet the minimum amount . Only check oanda

I intend opening a domiciliary account and have the GBP needed deposited into it, so I won't be bothered by exchange rate fluctuations.

Hello. Anyone here gotten admission from University of Nottingham?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by SnowdropO(f): 12:12am On Jun 04, 2020
Sorry to bother you. Do you still need to keep the money in the account for 28days if you are using your parents account?

mimilyrics:
The 28 days count starts from the day after the lodgement of the full money you require. The day it is deposited doesn't count; you start counting from the day the lodgement reflects in your opening balance which is usually the next working day after.

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 12:23am On Jun 04, 2020
Yes, it has to be in either your account or your parents' for 28 days prior to your online application submission.

Please if it all uni that required a 28days statement before issuing cas?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 1:02am On Jun 04, 2020
Yes, bank statements are checked for self-funded students (it has to be the student's account or an account belonging to the student's parents/guardians). This is to verify that the student has the funds to pay for his/her course and that whatever financial document is submitted to UKVI doesn't get rejected for falling short of the UKVI rules.

Students who are in receipt of a full scholarship from official financial sponsors are required to only show a sponsorship letter or an approved loan letter from qualified financial institutions (for those taking loans). The school will request for this too before CAS is issued to avoid a situation where it doesn't meet UKVI rules.

Wow, didn’t know this. That means the money has to be in the account technically for more than 28days cause by the 29th day you are printing statement l to get CAS from Uni and once you have CAS then you apply for VISA.
Would the sch also require to see maintenance fee or just fees?
Please clarify. Thank you.

It will be your loss to do that.
Exchange rate will be falling soon.
Plus most dom accounts (£&€) don’t come with cards. So only way of getting your money out is via transfer to a £ account with ridiculous fees or withdrawing from the bank (can’t travel with more than £10k cash in hand I think). It’s best to just use your naira account. Bank charges you less with form A. You can always find someone in the UK looking for naira when you get there. You sell to them & they transfer £ straight to your U.K. account. By then rate will come down to 470 or 500 max.

Thanks to the guy who suggested that HND Holders should try and apply to Sheffield Hallam University for Msc program. I applied and got an offer yesterday. That guy whoever you are (I will still try and search for your name) you are indeed a life and money saver!. I already got a Bsc top up offer in a University before. But your testimony encouraged me to shoot higher and I am glad I got an offer. I hope we hook up dia. You deserve a treat!

How do I include my spouse and children in the study visa
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by gsk4reality: 9:58am On Jun 04, 2020
Tolextonia:
Hello everyone! I have testimony to share. I am a HND graduate. I thought I can’t apply for direct masters degree, so decided to apply for a year top up degree at University of Sunderland (which I was given conditional offer).

Two weeks later something came into my mind that I should be able to apply for masters degree program because of my significant years of work experience. Later that day someone mentioned Sheffield Hallam University on this thread. I googled the institution and found out that they can accept HND as long as you have significant work experience in that field. I applied for MSC Accounting and Finance (Although I first checked their modules to be sure it’s what will add value to my career) on their website and was given Unconditional offer letter to study in their university (MSc Accounting and finance Jan 2021 session).

I also read about the University’s alumni reviews about the institution online and saw that 90% were positive news.

Thanks for sharing this. I just got my offer too.

You will have to include their names in a section of your own application form (whether they will be travelling with you or not) and also fill out individual applications for them (when they will be travelling with you). You'd need to provide evidence showing that they are your wife and kids and evidence of the required maintenance for each dependant.

For clarity, you can get cards for your domicilary accounts and use such cards online or to withdraw outside the country.

You can also carry above $10k or £10k, you only have to declare it once it's over the threshold of $10k.

No one can predictably tell you how the currency market will go and you have to bear the consequences of it rising or falling. I had some FX last year and was thinking of changing to Naira as the rates were good but my spouse argued against it. When I needed the same currency this year, i found out i had saved above N500k by not changing as I thought I should have last year! The rate depends on many factors that no one has any control over.

I don’t need your clarity.
No, you can’t get cards for all domiciliary accounts in all banks. It’s usually only for dollar account.
No, It’s not advisable to carry above that amount to avoid stories that touch - even if you want to declare it.

It is left for him to decide, don’t mention me thanks

Good morning please I want find out when do schools send out CAS is it immediately after paying the deposit?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 10:58am On Jun 04, 2020
CAS is usually processed out from 3 months before resumption.
If you pay your deposit and get an unconditional offer less than 3 months to your school's resumption , you'll get your CAS processed immediately payment is confirmed. CAS takes about 2-3 days after that for most schools.

If you pay your deposit and get an unconditional offer more than 3 months before your course, the school will able to process your CAS when it's 3 months or less to your course start date. The CAS process usually takes about 2-3 days for most schools.

In addition to SHU, also Sunderland, BCU, UCB and some others also accept HND with relevant experience.
