Nigerians of all tribes are doing well out there. That the easterner and the westerner are most travelled Nigerians, also make them higher in number of legitimate successful persons and criminal minded out there. This lady may know little of her root in Nigeria but the name picks her out. Same as it would, if she is a criminal. Nigerians learn to be objective in your criticism. Every race or tribe has good and bad people. Yesterday it was Obiwanne today it's hushpuppi. I wish her greater heights in America.

Thanks for the compliments. The Oluo’s are not Igbos. We are from Obibi, Etche in Rivers State. My sister is certainly not a Christian, she is an Atheist.

We also know for a fact that Muslims are awesome people and there are a lot of masterful scholarly works by Muslim authors.

Thank you again for your compliments, and make sure to love one another irrespective of tribe, religion and/or other social constructs.

Wasted Knowledge. You can be educated but not intelligent. Is the point you're buttressing. You claim to bag a Masters degree yet can't think straight. If Masters degree is being like you I better remain ignorant for life. Mtcheeew

I always congratulate Igbos when you do good things. I visited this thread to do the same until I read your bigoted statements, so I’m calling on the mods to moderate this thread so we can congratulate Igbos and celebrate her as a Nigerian.

Anyways congratulations to her, Igbo Amaka! You people are very good writers, Chinua Achebe is one of my favourites grin
You called the yoruba mods to ban me for saying the truth.

Whether you celebrate her or not,it changes nothing.

Nigerian American Writer Becomes New York Number 1 Bestseller

I was scrolling through Instagram today when I saw this post, a list of New York Bestseller, most of which where about racism... I took a closer look at the picture and found out that the number 1 new York best seller for Paperback nonfiction book this week was "SO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT RACE" by a Nigerian-American.

Her name is Ijeoma Oluo I had to goto NY times website to confirm, here you go see for yourself : https://www.nytimes.com/books/best-sellers/

Her biography

Can you make any point without comparison or cooking up tribal war, what have you achieved yourself?? Even her books without reading it is for people like you(racists).

Anyway I wouldn't forget the main purpose of me clicking on this thread, she has done well for herself and there are many of this kind of people contributing massively to the world but their efforts are not celebrated by their own country instead we promote madness in this country.

I do tell my friends if you want to explore your true gifts/talents to its fullest leave Nigeria and go elsewhere the world will celebrate you. Nigeria will move forward if only they can start investing in humans and reward people for their efforts.

Since this was something positive and they used the fake generic term "Nigerian" to describe the person,
I immediately knew the person was IGBO!.......and ofcourse I was right!

If this person had been Yoruba or Fulani, the title would have read, "Yoruba writer becomes New York's bestseller"
SHM!

...Lolzz... they just changed the title of the thread again to : "Ijeoma Oluo: so you wan talk about race?" grin grin grin grin
Silly tricks played by some Nigerians who hate Igbos, but ALWAYS want to benefit from Igbo hardwork all the time.

Yeah, she's always denied being Igbo. She'll tell you she's Etche, not Igbo when some Igbo guys used to bother her about her "Igboness." She's mixed race though.

See some of her tweets setting the records straight that she's Etche, not Igbo: Ijeoma Oluo
