I don’t think it is too much seasoning. Too much seasoning will make you end up with a running stomach. I think it is more of precision and other variables. grin
But I've never even seen white pepper before.
How does it look like?

You need to try it out dear... The President butter brand is the best I can recommend...I think it's sold for 1500.

For just 200g?? shocked
We need to start churning our own butter ASAP!
Nigeria is just so productively lazy it's annoying!
Even with all the raw materials and potential at our disposal, we'd rather settle for the available than create and fill the need. What an annoying creatively lazy country!

That is actually what I used because it came highly recommended on the food thread. cheesy

And by the way, do you think most of these top class canteens use firewood for their Jollof rice? There's a woman at Ikeja...Oh damn, her Jollof rice is 'heavenly'..Imagine driving from the island to Ikeja cos of her rice... Lol... Funny thing is she uses a Gas cooker.

I don’t get all the firewood talk. I never knew my aunty uses gas cooker till I went to help her for a job. I was shocked to see all the heavy duty gas cookers. With those very tall cylinders.

Recently I found out that Olaiya restaurant uses gas cookers. This is 2020. Sometimes I think it is a mental stuff. You know, you see something so much, you accept it is the only way and you are stuck on it. cheesy cheesy

Please come and take me there o. I am FFO.

9:- I have heard my mom say, use a wooden spoon. I don’t know if there is any study to back this...lol

She is right. If a metal spoon scratch the bottom of the pot it causes friction that makes the pot to burn very fast.

But with wooden spoon, there is no such action rather is scrape the bottom freely and givrd the more time to cook.

I use wooden spoon for Stew and Jellof Rice and it worked.

I don't agree.
Nigeria can produce quality if they wanted to.
Blue band margarine is one of the best brands, if not the best, compared to most foreign brands which are mostly too salty.

For real... You know most of these women are old-time caterers and they have tried both the firewood and gas cooker options....So for them to stick to the gas cooker option means there's more to party jollof rice than Firewood....

Don't worry,i'll take you there someday come have yourself a Jollof orgy...Lol
