Good Evening All,

There is a spot for people who are not straightforward in their dealings on here.
We decided on it.

He should be given a time span to pay back the buyer and if he doesn't he should be listed in red here and anywhere on the Nairaland Platform if possible.

I dont have anything against you hotdealz, i dont even know you and i dont know Jeff the buyer and i dont know the ogogoro man that bought 50 pieces.

If you choose to keep defending your stand then the essence of the Thread must be actioned.

Some of us have decided to make these issues our business because this is our faceless market where we do business to earn a living.

Please i also noticed that some people that have settled their issues are still in red on the front page.

Is there a way a review can be done from time to time so there is no perceived bias?

Updates can always be shared on the thread whenever its done.

Thanks guys.

You actually beat me to the 1st bolded paragraph above, he actually thinks "oh because is not an Offerup pickup deal or issue then he can't be sanctioned". Only if he knows he can be blacklisted here and this thread might be link to every one of his thread if he fails to do the needful.

He should know their are potential buyers viewing the technology market and reading this thread which some of us do business to make a living and if things like this are not check and caution then on the long run it will be a very big blow on us all.

Cc Kreamie

Please, he should be given time to come up with a plan and if he fails....let his name be pasted in RED.

And also, like omotolsy said, let there be reviews in some of the names in RED.....if for 3months - 1year their dealings are not questionable then their name should be erased....my opinion though!

Hotdealz or whatever your name is,YOU ARE A FRAUD.
This shiiiiiiit is a well strategized ish. For you to have been strong headed about not wanting to make a repayment and no single regards for guys here simply shows you knew those batteries were not good. I will wait till your name will be placed on red alert, then i will make a case with you by putting up a scam alert couple with the link to this thread on any post you make on nairaland. Since you are a heartless con artist,I will make sure you don't know peace on this platform. Do yourself a favor and open another moniker because this one you are using won't give you rest of mind as far as I am here.
Following this your moniker already, you are a thief,OLE.

If you pay that money na Ogun go fry your arssss.

I don't respond to certain mention. Not everyone on nairaland are kid. You believe I would come here to say we got the laptops if we did not?

We collected 30 laptops first after test running them for a week, we collected 20 more.

It's on this thread I am knowing that attached batteries came from a different source. I thought they came together with the laptop.

Well, now you have responded because you noticed the importance.

No one called you a kid(it is faceless).

Yes we have the right to doubt(it is faceless).

Asking for a proof from you was in the course of establishing/clarifying the whole issue.

You have provided proof and we appreciate.

Thanks

guy relax this ur chat is not a proof. u can simply change the date on ur phone and the result will be exactly the same as in the chat u posted. the time of ur chat sef say it all replying minutes by minutes. and then u purchased 50 laptops from someone and u never saved the person name. if u want to show us proof. send us the pictures of the laptops u purchased or u guys didn't share pictures? bank transfer or transaction alert. u gave urself up when you highlighted the 50 indicating that out of the 50 laptops u purchased all was working ok which means this guy is lying about the bad battery. see if u want to defend someone its fine but don't say another person is lying about a defective product bought because u want to defend someone.

Thanks to Mr ogogorofreak for taking time out to post his experience.

Cupid4ig, attached is my chat with Jeffrey on the 9th of May. Atleast, you won't say the date was changed on this one. Jefferyzz was a regular buyer of this battery from me. He knows they are not Clone, he knows they are not counterfeit.

But since everyone is against me on this issue, I will have to do the needful to make peace reign. I can't be the only one that's right

When I first complained to the seller about Jeffery issue, he was cold and mean, aside the "no warranty" he said something like "what if Jeffrey has changed the battery and want to play smart" I told him outrightly that Jeffery is someone I know personally, he can't do a thing like that.

So I'll want Jeffery to return the 4 batteries when else he comes to lagos, so I can take them to the seller to see that these are actually his batteries - they were not changed and if he still won't do anything about it, I will look for money and send to jeffery. I QUIT THE BATTERY SELLING BUSINESS

THANKS TO ALL THAT COMMENTED ON THIS DISPUTE. ORNA DO WELL. TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE THE FORUM A SAFER PLACE TO TRANSACT cool

I also dropped one for you at omicpet place, remember? Before you paid for another 2 pcs that I waybilled to you. After that, you bought another 6 pcs.

If only you bought 10 pcs total within few months for a business I started Feb, what else does a regular buyer mean?

Reason I said regular buyer was because, most customers only buy one of the battery for themselves not more than one. I sold more of the batteries with laptops not just batteries alone. You are among the very few that bought just battery alone repeatedly.

I actually started selling these batteries that same Feb. It's a new business I started when I discovered the seller. Not as if I have been selling the batteries for many years.

in business we lose some and gain some.it is obvious this is a normal transaction gone wrong.since u said u made 2k each from those batteries and seeing how everything pans out.it is better u see this as wrong business and refund the buyer the profit u made from those sales.and believe this particular deal never happened.no need to overflog the issue.

So here is where we stopped our chat. Out of the 60k for the 4 battery hotdealz said he can't go more than 20k and that I should cover 40k. And I can't on any ground cover such an amount. If he wants to be paying 500naira everyday, it fine by me. I will take out of my business money with the hope that a reasonable part will be replaced soon. But him paying 20k is not in anyway acceptable. I already told him I can only cover 20 and he pays 40..

Boss @hotdealz, please, work with this offer from your buyer. I have been following the issue from the first post by the OP. All through, your initial stance was that you can't do a refund, and all the bosses here, roundly, rebuked you for that. After all the dragging, back and forth, it's good to see that you have agreed to refund the money for 4 batteries. The good thing is, your buyer agreed that you pay 40k, out of 60k,for the return and refund for 4 batteries, which is a fair deal, IMHO. Ordinarily, most buyers here, including myself, will demand FULL REFUND of 60k, because I bought BRAND NEW batteries from you, not tokinbo.

Please, @hotdealz, pay the OP his 40k. He has made it convenient for you, N500 daily deposit (multiplied by 6 days, that's 3k weekly). Just see it like you're paying daily or weekly thrift contribution. You'll be done in less than 2 months, hopefully, without feeling it.

Abeg, no need to drag the matter anymore, boss.

Also, you should review and rethink your decision to quit a source of income. Post-coronavirus is not going to be funny. You need all the income you can get.
Just make sure you sell battery + charger packages, to avoid stories, or tell those who decide to buy only battery that there's no warranty and no returns, after they test and confirm it's working -just like the Alaba importer told you. He probably bought refurbished batteries, by the way.

He paid me 48k for the 4 batteries. Not 60k.

The batteries are not refurbished. They are actually genuine Dell batteries.

The battery spoiling wasn't even an option in my head so that was not why I asked my supplier for return warranty.

I asked for warranty because someone needed it in Jos but I didn't know if it would work on his model. So he asked me if he could return it incase it didn't work for him.

If at all I was to say to Jeffrey anything about warranty, it would be "what if e no work on their model of laptop?" But when he wanted to buy the first battery, he came with his laptop and I believed I told him to because I always do when people call me. Since then, I saw him as someone that knows what he is doing because he told me he sells laptops too and he has been buying the batteries from me without complain of compatibility.

Note that some people came with their laptops and the battery was not compatible after we tried it, I returned it back that same day or max the next day without any issue.

When you go to the market to buy things hardly any seller would just start talking about warranty when you didn't ask. Jeff never asked me anything about warranty.

If Jeff successfully sold the batteries for 20k each, it's his luck but I know what he paid me for the 4 batteries is 48K.

If Jeff successfully sold the batteries for 20k each, it's his luck but I know what he paid me for the 4 batteries is 48k and I can only pay back half of the worth of the battery.

That's true, I read from Jefferyz's account that he bought each battery from you for 12k each. He bought 6 for 72k. So, returning 4 now, means that the full refund is 48k, not 60k.

However, Jefferyz wants the refund split between you, him, and the Alaba importer. He also wants you to cover for the Alaba importer's part, as you never told him about the supplier and he has no business with him, anyway.

So, 48k divided by 3 is 16k. So, Jefferyz expects you to cover 2 parts of 16k, which is 32k, while he bears the 16k balance.

Boss, please, pay this, to end the back and forth, on the matter.

i dont want to put my mouth in this again but the only thing I will advise u is this. u see that bolded part up there, unless YOU ARE THE ONE buying it directly from dell pls stop guaranteeing that it is. some people can clean original battery that is bad and repackaged it(if u don't know this its means u don't know Alaba very well). if ur supplier is really buying from dell directly I don't see the reason why he won't be giving u a guarantee because all the battery has serial numbers and if he returns it to dell they will change it. Dell gives 12months warranty on all their batteries as long as u bought from them directly. so please stop guaranteeing what you cant prove in other to avoid future problems. #peace
