Officiallyme:all the best then. mind you, medicine isn't the only course in the health sciences. and you shouldn't limit yourself to Nigeria alone. In Nigeria, med doctors seems to be the "only" one in healthcare, they covey the prestige to themselves. I remember when I was running after medicine, I'm older now amd I can say I was foolish then. Many people with low self esteem felt studying medicine would increase it. some were rejected by girls amd felt studying medicine would make girls respect them. some it's cos of their peers. I'm talking generally and not attacking you. |

vhuqnl:It's overrated and that's your personal opinion.. People have the right to make their choices and stick by them.. There's nothing wrong fighting for what you think will make you feel fulfilled and have high self esteem like you mentioned in your other post and NOTE, this is equally applicable in all spheres of life not only Medicine...What ever prompts one to study medicine is worth it after all because it's borne out of personal conviction...Leave the "overrated'MBBS for us, it's better than not being "rated" at all..Gracias! |

| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by DarkPheonix: 8:33am On Jun 25, 2020 |
MrEgghead:Few entered their desired course without connection, whereas people with lesser aggregate entered without stress cause they have connection. |

| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by MrEgghead(m): 9:27am On Jun 25, 2020 |
DarkPheonix:Especially when you're affiliated with professors or Lecturers..My class has about 12 students that I know of who are sons and daughters of professors..But many of us still entered without knowing anybody..Atleast 70% of entered without knowing anybody... Don't make it sound like if you don't have connection you can't gain Medicine... |

klose4life:No, u cant buy their form. You will be seeing something like "ur reg no is not found". Also, Lasu does not write post utme. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by DarkPheonix: 9:48am On Jun 25, 2020 |
MrEgghead:Well if about 70% entered without knowing anybody then it is a bit fair. But the thing there is that uniben admission is not transparent, with the school not releasing cut off mark, news of people paying those working at the cbt to upgrade their score, or transfer them to other course. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by MrEgghead(m): 10:07am On Jun 25, 2020 |
DarkPheonix:The only dark side is not releasing 'Cut off points" officially like UI and some schools...But the truth is, if you go to admission office to ask, they will tell you...When I went there, they told me 77 for merit and I noticed all of us that crossed 77 in our WhatsApp group chat then were admitted..Not a single person was left out.. Though people still came in via catchment and Elds with few marks below that...If you beat the "purported cut off point", you'll definitely gain admission...The question is how many will beat it? The cut off points for schools that admit based on quota are always high because of those slots set aside for the highly connected people..That's the system we find ourselves. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by DarkPheonix: 10:12am On Jun 25, 2020 |
MrEgghead:Thanks for this, I feel more enlightened about uniben now. |

Oluwaseun1995:Emblematic. See how lucky and smart you are. Most aspirants don't know this stuff of changing school when it doesn't fit your narrative. See how you switched from unical to Uniport and still got what you wanted. But some aspirants ehn. No ó when when they know they are below cut off will still choose to stay in one place. Later on will come and complain that they have been looking for MBBS admission for the past 10 years. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Nobody: 12:46pm On Jun 25, 2020 |
ShahRukhKhan:He was smart and had money, if you don't have money O.Y.O. you think its small money to buy post ume form 4k, travel to and fro to calabar (which is about 18K) plus 5K to lodge. After putme u will check unical post ume result with 1k card. Then it didn't click the he went to do coc N3500 and bought uniport post utme 4k and travelled to port Harcourt to and fro (let's say 12k assuming he stays in Lagos) and he will lodge again 5k. add all this, I didn't even add miscellaneous. |
