- Wipe everything except /vendor and SD/OTG
- Reboot recovery
- Flash BUILD.zip
- Flash Magisk
- Reboot to system

It does fastboot and go into recovery mode. It says no os installed. I did backup but can't find it. Make I get time would collect the phone from the technician

I think what you should do since you've forgotten ur password is to FLASH any ROM aside from MIUI ROMs, by so doing ur password won't be required on boot.

That guy that has password issues. A guy made a flash able zip for mi account removal for cases like this. It is confirmed to be working as he tested it on both Redmi note 8 and Redmi 6A.

Just flash any MIUI custom ROM, then flash the zip file after am.

Has he misplaced the phone number linked to the Mi account? I was able to reset my password recently with the help of the phone number. Xiaomi sent a code to it to reset the password

Normal issue in MIUI... Even if you succeed in applying it via other methods it will still keep reverting to the stock theme... If you want to use a third party theme flash a Custom ROM
