Pay attention to the red marker in speaker config. The thing suffer me.

I usually set the playback control gain very low because it makes my notification sound very high. I reduced mine now because I'm not listening to any audio playback

You can be playing music while you adjust the settlings till you get your preferred options. But it must indicate processing: Yes when playing music, else it's not working

Well, if there isn't anyone, no yawa; it's just that I'll like to get another person's experience in using custom ROMs on that device.
I've tried two android Q ROMs, 1st was Msm-Xtended, I couldn't get data to work on either sim.
The 2nd was AEX, at first boot, got stuck on the boot animation for about 30mins, I had to go back to Xiaomi.EU 11.0.3 ROM.
I'll really appreciate your advice on any particular ROM to go for, that can be used as a daily driver, I want to try something other than the android Oreo MIUI based ROMs. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Did you flash magisk immediately after flashing rom before first boot?

Try either way, i.e before boot or after boot. Wipe everything except internal storage before starting each procedure.

For Msm-Xtended, I flashed magisk and bitgapps after first boot, the AEX I downloaded was the gapps variant, and it didn't boot up, I didn't flash magisk before first boot either.
Legion OS, I haven't looked at it, will it be okay as a daily driver sir?

I don dey do coded things with una now oh. I'm just believing now that if you've not started flashing ROMs and all that, you've not really enjoyed your phone, I have just started.
