You people know nada, yet you pose like an authority on the Bible.

Look at how you are trying to rubbish Abraham's tithe by calling it spoils of war. Since when did spoils of war stop amounting to what you worked for? Or do you think fighting a battle is child's play?

Abraham fought and got the spoils of war. He gave God ten percent. He did that to acknowledge that he didn't win that battle himself but with the help of God. Or how else do you think Abraham and his 300 men conquered ten Kings and their armies?

It's the same thing as going to work and getting paid out of which you pay tithe to God because he's really the one that made it possible for you to have that job, not your might.

You don't understand the concept behind animal sacrifice. It was a picture of Jesus Christ the Holy Lamb. They sacrificed animals to pay for their sins in anticipation of when Jesus Christ will be sacrificed so that we will no longer rely on the blood of bulls and rams but on his blood as payment for our sins.

If Abel, Abraham and Jacob were alive today, they won't be sacrificing animals but relying on the one time sacrifice of Jesus.

Mind you, because the Bible never recorded that Abraham tithed again doesn't mean he never did. Or are we to conclude that Abraham never brushed his teeth or used the toilet because no such record exists?

Please just shut up because you know nothing. Shut up or God will punish you for posing as knowledgeable on top of your ignorance. My Frank advice.

When Nigerian pastors want to defraud they say, old testament is Mosaic law.
However, tithing is of old law and that is the only item they preach everyday.
If you ask them if you can pay your tithe to the poor, they will tell you it's wrong.

As common with Jehovah's False Witnesses, you have sidestepped the point and acted as if it's not there.

Here you are implying that the commandments given by God in the Old Testament are no longer valid and that it is Jesus you are following. Whereas Jesus himself said those laws still stand.

Mathew 5:7 KJV
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Why would Jesus destroy those laws and render them obsolete when he said that he and his Father are One, which means they agree?

John 10:30
I and my Father are one.

If he and his Father are One, then it means his Father's laws still stand because he stands with them. And if he stands with them, it means those who love him are to obey his commandments which are his Father's laws because they are One.

John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

But a lying false witness says Jesus and God are not one, that's why his foolishness separated them and their laws.

Since God's laws don't matter to you, then go ahead and disobey the one that says you shouldn't sleep with your mother. Go ahead and disobey it because you won't be punished for a law which is old covenant.

Everybody, watch how he will sidestep this post and come up with something entirely different, which doesn't address it.

Jesus was talking to the Jews and he wants them to pay rapt attention to the laws because it is through the laws that they can understand what he is doing in their midst.
According to Moses God will send another Prophet like Moses who will established another covenant that will lead people to everlasting life, unlike the one Moses mediated {Deuteronomy 18:15-18 compare to Jeremiah 31:31-34} Peter made the Israelites understand that Jesus is that promised Prophet who will established the new covenant {Act 3:22} the new covenant was sealed after Jesus has presented the sacrifice in heaven! Hebrew 9:12, 12:24

Those laws and the prophets were like a mirror that makes us see how filthy we are in sin but if we can work on Jesus' thoughts, words and actions we are no longer need the law! Galatians 3:25 compare to Romans 10:4

God bless you! smiley

Can a tither make heaven? I doubt it. It is an insult to God that he wasted his time creating brain and tithers fail to use it. Pastors tell followers about heaven but chose to live their heaven here on earth. You CANNOT buy salvation. Bribery is ingrained in the Nigerian brain that's why tithing resonates with them. They think they are "sorting" God.

The world will be a better place if Christians and muslims stop believing that their holy books are the absolute truth. These two major religions are causing all the problems in the world. Someone has to be wrong. I will start taking the Bible seriously if anyone can show me where the Bible condemns slavery. It took human intervention (devoid of biblical backing) to end slavery.

NB: I have never paid a dime in tithe in my life.

Tithing is for Christians that are spiritually mature, hence, the argument by both without the fence, and the spiritually immature ones. More so, it’s not for the public

True christains shounldn't engage in this sort of arguments on tithe and none paying of tithes....Ask the Holy Spirit and do what the scriptures says we should DO....

Give and pay your tithe and know the Lord.....I repeat Know the LORD

Ironically......they said just be consistent in paying your tithe and be less concern about what and how the money is been spent......reason been that you gave it to God and you can't be questioning (God) your Lord....

But then the money is been received and spend by one individual that told you you gave the money to God......and God walk/work in mysterious ways......(edifying church buildings, expensive suits and cars) etc....

In the logical sense of it......who is God....?

Give to God
Don't question God about the contributions
God supposed received the money
God spends the money to prepare heaven

Then there is this -touch not my anointed aspect..........

Maybe my logic is not adding up but I'm tired of people who can't read in-between the line

Abel tithed, Abraham did and also Jacob. All those patriarch existed before Judaism came to play.

Stop lying please. Show us the scriptures where Abel and Jacob paid tithe.

Better go find work and stop scamming people through tithing in the name of God.

Note: I will not only start paying tithe to you, I will transfer 50k to you today if you show me where Christ or the Apostles paid or collected tithe.

There are conditions you MUST meet before you can be qualified to collect tithe.

Note: These are not my conditions, they are Yahuah's (God of Israel) STRICT conditions.

1) You must be a descendant of Jacob’s son Levi. That's to say, your lineage must be pointing to Levi who is the son of Jacob. You must have the blood of Levi flowing through your veins.

2) You must not have inheritance.

3) You must not work, all your work must be in the temple.

Numbers 18: 21-24
21 “I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting. 22 From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and will die. 23 It is the Levites who are to do the work at the tent of meeting and bear the responsibility for any offenses they commit against it. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites. 24 Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the Lord. That is why I said concerning them: ‘They will have no inheritance among the Israelites.’”
.
.
If you must pay tithe even though you're not an Israelite under the law, you have to go look for any descendant of Jacob’s son Levi and pay otherwise, you're not giving it to the right person as God commanded.

If you must do what Abraham did, be ready to return 90% to where you got it from. Yeah! Return the 90% of your salary to your employer. Abraham returned his own, so shall you.

Genesis 14:21-23
21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.”

22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “With raised hand I have sworn an oath to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, 23 that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.’

.
.
Never forget the book of 2 Corinthians 9:7 is the Christian standard of giving.

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

.
You are free to give 10%, 50% even 100% to the kingdom but, NEVER you call it tithe or first fruit because Christians have no business with the mosaic laws.

If you decide to pay tithe or first fruit, you automatically exempt yourself from the finished work of Christ. The moment you pay tithe or first fruit, you removed yourself from grace and moved to the law which is now weak and useless (Hebrews 7:18-19), and a shadow of things to come (Colossians 2:17), the things are the coming, death and resurrection of Christ.

I still remain the son of the TRUTH.

TITHING DEMYSTIFIED

OLD COVENANT

There are 3 types of tithing.

1) Tithe of the feast: This tithe is for your consumption and you do it every first and second year.
Deuteronomy 14:22-26 explains it all.

2) Levitcal tithe: This tithe is what you give to the Levite (only to the descendants of Jacob’s son Levi) in the third year after you have eaten your tithe in the first and second year.

Deuteronomy 14:28-29, Deuteronomy 26:12 and Numbers 18:21- 25 explains it all.

The strict condition here is that you must be the bloodline of Levi to collect tithe. No body else on earth is qualified to collect this tithe apart from those who have the blood of Jacob's son Levi running through their veins. Any other person who collect this is either a criminal or ignorant.

3) Tithe to the needy: In the third year after you have previously eaten your tithe in the first and second year, you're to give the tithe of the third year to the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows.

Levitcal tithe and tithe to the poor is for the third year, that's to say, you share it between the Levites, foreigners, fatherless and widows. It is only meant for this four set of people.

What about Malachi 3:8-10?

Well, God was talking to the Levites and not the Israelites who bring the tithe. Among the Levites, there's a high priest who enters the holiest of holy. Read from Malachi 2:1 to see that God was talking to the Priests (Levites).

The priests (Levites) were playing smart on the tithe they collect from the Israelites.

THE STORE HOUSE

The Levites (priests) were to take out 10% of the tithe they collect from the Israelites and keep in the store house, Numbers 18:25 - 29 explains it, but they stopped doing it, they started making smart move on it and God was angry with them.

They were misbehaving with the tithes they collected, the book of Nehemiah 13:4 - 13 explains it.

NEW COVENANT

In the new covenant, you as a believer is the church (house of Yahuah/God) not a building (2 Corinthians 5:1, Acts 17:24, Acts 7:48, Matthew 24:1-2 and John 4:21-24) and a priest while Yahushua (Christ) is the high priest (Read Hebrew 7).

Because you as a believer is the church, there's no physical store house or temple, you are now the spiritual temple God dwell in, if you are the temple they use to bring their tithes to, then it's you that will consume the tithe not a Pastor or Priest.

In the entire new testament, there's no place Christ or the believers preached, received or collected tithe. Think for a minute, if the new testament is the Christian manual, why is tithing not there and what does that tell you?

C'mon, tithing and first fruit have no place in Christianity. It is what it is.

Tithing is excepting yourself from the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

In the new covenant, the law was fulfilled by Christ and we are no longer under the law. After resurrection of Christ, the law became weak and useless as seen in the Hebrew 7:8-19.

Hebrews 7:18-19
18 The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless 19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

Galatians 3:19-20
Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. 20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one.

.
* Christ is the seed been referred to here.

Colossians 2:17
These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
.
The 613 laws are shadows until Christ came. Christ fulfilled the law, done and dusted, chapter closed forever. That's why it's now weak and useless.

Hebrews 7:12
For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also.
.
Hebrew 8 vs 13
"By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear."

Romans 7:6
But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Galatians 3:10
For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”

* If you're to obey the laws in the old testament to be right with God, you're to obey ALL the 613 laws otherwise you're under a curse. Tithing to fulfil what's written in the book of law attracts a curse. Stop tithing, you're bringing a curse to yourself.

James 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Galatians 2:21
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

Hebrews 10:9-10
9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Christ once for all.

.
.
He set aside OLD COVENANT found in the old testament to establish the NEW COVENANT found in the new testament.

.
2 Corinthians 3:6
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
.
* The letter here is the old covenants (laws) while the spirit is the new covenant. Read the whole chapter for better understanding.

Please brothers and sisters, do yourself a favour and read the whole of 2 Corinthians 3. Verse 14 "But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away." is exactly what is happening in Christianity today. The minds of many were made dull.

Never allow any man born of flesh push you to do the things that are now weak and useless.
If Christ and the early Christians didn't do it, I tell you today, don't do it no matter the pressure.

The new testament scriptures are Christian manual, anything not found there shouldn't be a doctrine.

I still remain the son of the TRUTH.

According to holy scripture (the Bible)
Tithe payment is not a panacea to making heaven

Book of James chapter 1 verse 27 (religion that is pure and undefined..... Tithe not mentioned)
Also Book of Matthew 23 verse 23 (those who pay tithe but fail in the mentioned xter cannot make heaven)

Some sacred things of God don't even need debate. A short trip to hell would have drop our senses and reset our spirits. Shocking wailing warnings are there too.

Debating is a proof that Holy Spirit is absent in one's life. "Those that are led by the Spirit of God are His sons because the Lord knows those that are His." His own hears His voice and they obey Him i.e they drop their senses to follow His instruction, because a follower does not debabte (debate is a distraction) but to focus on Him and His instruction like an obedient soldier to His chief commander.

Brethren, let us drop our senses, leave debate, and commune with the Holy Spirit because without Him lies the strength of our carnal senses.

Prayer: Holy Spirit our helper and giver of peace in all confusion and to the confusionists, come and have your way...

You haven't said anything.
