Ndiigbo called those humanoid creatures "Akalogoli. Notice it sounds familiar to Igala rendition of it "Okagoli". This is because Igala has proto Igbo people in its formation.

You people are making me laugh. Jaja became a very powerful businessman during that time from selling palm oil. If he never went back to Igbo land where did he get the palm oil he was selling to the British?

loud it hahahahahaha. You guys should create 1,000 thread about Ijaws. We are not moved by Igbos propaganda. Concerning the matter, Jaja was sold to us. We groomed him and accultured him the same way Barack Obama became an American. Thereafter he had a quarrel with the Manillas and left to another nearby land to settle. Jaja went to Opobo with over 14 Bonny families. Ijaw nation knows their own and don't need Igbos validation. Ijaw is Igbos greatest nightmare in South South zone.

This line is stale. The people who bear those Hausa names have their own traditions and culture as well as language which are very distinct. These people in question have no other tradition, culture or language separate from Igbo. They are not a separate group.

Trash.
They have said times without number that they are not Igbos, why are you bent on forcing them to be what they are not? Nobody wants to associate themselves with you. grin
Igbo's can be found in Abia, Imo, Ebonyi and Enugu only. Anambra is an Igala State, they only use Igbo as Language of Business.

Mad o.

In things fall apart novel, Okonkwo called Ezimma her Ogbanje daughter, a wicked daughter of Akalogili.

Our ancestors met these Humanoids in the rainforest, and might have been responsible for their extinction.
But no one has done much research on them and we don't have enough stories about them preserved and passed down to us.

As for the topic.
The most Opobo people I have met are more comfortable in Ijaw skin. So let them be.

Maybe when IPOB stop their clowning and become real Igbo pressure group they are supposed to be, bring on their A game, gain political control of five SE states, show competence in government, develop Igboland more than it currently is, promote Igbo nationalism, maybe then, the likes of Opobos who are actually an amalgam of Igbo and Ijaw, might decide to stop being Ijaw and become Igbos, maybe by then the whole Bini irrational stories in Igboid Delta and Rivers will die naturally.

Aku na Ike n'ebe okwu. Make Igboland prosperous and position Igbo nationality in places of power both politically and economic and watch even non Igbo speaking groups start plotting graphs of how their ancestors were Igbos who lost their Igbo language.
This is not rocket science.
But you tell them(IPOB), and they will not listen

For now, INC And IYC are strong and well positioned to defend the rights and privileges of any body that accepts they are Ijaw, regardless of the whether such group speak an Ijoid language or totally divergent language.
Opobo people recognizes this and so rightly align with Ijaw.
Even Ndoki in Rivers are considering aligning with the INC and IYC.

Onye aghogbu ka agbaa.

If Ndoki and maybe Etche(anything in Rivers is possible) join INC and IYC, Yawa don gas for Ikwerre oh. because Ndoki/Asi and Etche loathe Ikwerres for not carrying them along. These groups hate Ikwerre because Ikwerre do not call them to join us in enjoying Rivers money.

But it is well, Abia state and Imo state are always behind Ikwerre people.

There should be an ohaneze ndigbo for all igbo groups in the south-south region. It's primary aim should be to promote the igbo identity and unify all Igbos in the region and protect their interests.

By the sheer size of Igbos in south-south, they should be able to match any other group in that region, and stop being easy picks.

Current Ohaneze cannot do this from outside, because it'll be seen as an incursion into the politics of the region.

There's nothing like Igboid. Igbo is igbo, though with many clans.

On the contrary, Ohaneze if serious, should release a public disclaimer. Rejecting persons from Ikwerre, Ogba and other Igbophobic groups out there from membership of the organization and stating clearly that these Igbophobic Igboid groups are not Igbos.

You may be speaking jargons and acting like the class clown, yet the truth continues to fall from your mouth.

From my own studies of some recently excavated scrolls, there is now a new and overwhelming evidence that ikwerres are not from Benin but actually Igala. Akalaka's father was the lost son of the Attah of Igala who ran away from Ogorimagongo in 3000BC. He later arrived in present day Aluu community where he established a camp and took up a new identity.

This new discovery is really causing serious tension and may pitch the Attah of Igala against the Oba of Benin as both struggle over the ownership of ikwerre and the surrounding areas stretching from Calabar in the East to Eko in the West.

Abia state is only behind the Asa people based on the fact that most of them are actually Aboriginal to Abia state but due to Imo river that was used as natural boundary between Abia and Rivers states, they found themselves in the latter.
Imo state too also have some of our areas carved into Rivers State but ikwerre is never part of it, so we have no business with ikwerre.

The Etche, Asa, and Ndoki only need to unite as Igbos and with the support of Igbos living in Rivers state, they will become the majority.

I don't know about those groups you mentioned being igbophobic, but if they are, then I agree rejecting them would be the best thing to do. But then, what about the other igbo groups in the region?

I believe all these politics around their identities, for most of these igbo groups in the south-south, is about survival. So far, they've never really had a united front and as such are individually perceived as minorities. It shouldn't be so.

Politics in the region is not like it is in the south-east. With the low-key distrust for anything Igbo and as long as these groups remain individual minorities, it'll remain political wisdom to deny their identities and join other larger groups in the region.

maybe adding ibibio would make you understand better. The place now called Arochukwu wasn't always Igbo land.it used to belong to the tribes across the river. The Aro Confederacy where famed for their military prowess and slave raiding across present day Abia,Imo,Akwaibom and cross River states.
Their are still mementos and relics from that period scattered across Abia North .

Did you just knew this? This is a known facts in the entire East NA. I'm an Igbo man from Aba and I knew this since I was a Kid. Peter Obi, Obiano, Charles Soludo, E-money, the owner of ÌNNOSSON Motors, Chris Ngige, Uba and all the wealthy men in Anambra are all Igalas. But the hungry and the average looking people in Anambra are from the neighbouring Eastern States.
