Good day House...I'm making this enquiry for my cousin...His mum wants to sponsor him(student visa) she's also an Irish citizen but married to another man..would it raise red flags since my cousin's last name and his mums last name aren't the same..

Ultimately what can be done? I'll appreciate your contributions.

If you can get another accommodation no problem but you must be alone for 14 days meaning get something like an hotel or 1 bedroom apartment unless you want them to reject your application
That's even cheap compared to the one I checked in for a friend

Olabola20:
Good evening house, concerning the 14days isolation: Is it compulsory to use the accommodation provided by the school or can one get an accommodation outside the school? If one can get an accommodation outside the school, please, how can I go about it?

This is the one provided and it’s too expensive for just two weeks

The relationship between them can be easily proven. Her documents and filings with the Irish government will have details of her previous names which should tally with yours. All she needs is to submit proof of her former name and write a letter confirming you are her son.

I didn’t make an accommodation reservation before applying.

They may send you an Email that you need to book an accommodation because self-isolation is compulsory for at 14 days

One key question is how did she become an irish citizen?

To reduce complications, let her sponsor him to the UK. He can get visa to visit Ireland and hopefully may land a job there later.

Ireland is headache if they are not prepared to be open about everything, I mean lots of paperwork then my candid advice is to consider the UK

The mother’ birth certificate will show her former last name with swear affidavit.

A lots of people do this, by bringing in their kids from their former marriage but it’s more easy if the kids are less than 16 years
Most of my colleagues that got married again in here brought their kids here but mostly before the kids turn 18
Are you coming in as Undergrad or Postgrad?

cool
Everyone is here to contribute on his/her own experience right?
I only try to share my own experiences because I I have met a lot of people here that came as Undergrad, Postgrad, Working permit, Visit and illegal way from France or UK to Ireland.
Most of them are living fine now

Peace out

Chibabe4Christ:
My brother, ICaSNg is well experienced than most of us here....
Please do heed to her advice she will not deceive you. You have heard her say she attends training and as well get first hand info from Irish embassy.
We do not compete with anyone here or show we sabi pass some.... we are all here to learn.
I guess you are either an applicant or aspiring to apply so relax, grab enough experience, make your application and wait for approval...
I wish you good luck
