I don't really understand what's so hard in waiting for the team to play upto five matches to regain match fitness, out of the three games we've played so far we won 2, you can make excuses for those teams all you want but they're also having a rough start. You knew Chelsea would need some time to start playing up to their potentials but you're not ready to afford our players same time? Tell me, what magic will a new coach apply on unfit players?

Cut them some slack man, they're not robots. These guys guys were literally dead on their feets towards the end of last season having been severely overplayed, they had two weeks to recover, some had only one, they couldn't even train upto a week together before the new season started, they need some time to find sharpness. I don't understand why we're so impatient.

I know the coaches and the players are working hard to get themselves back to full fitness, thankfully we've not been hit with any muscle injuries yet.
Five matches is 15 points o! Our rivals won't wait for us.

I see some people think we are criticizing OLE based on the two matches. Well, that is not true. Most people have been sitting on the fence for a long time and they are starting to see the reality or should I say that they will eventually admit their fears and reservations.

Please do not remind me that we made top three...I already know and I also know we were not great. We made top three because of how poor other teams were.

I looked at the way we played towards the end of last season and I was not surprised. That has been the norm under OLE and trust me, its gonna be same this season. A good manager can not be a bad one overnight, likewise a "not-so-good-enough" manager can not be adequate overnight. Football has changed so much. There were times we were not so far away from teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern M. but now we are so far below them and you know what is painful, the gap is increasing every season.

I dont think anyone is saying OLE is a bad manager entirely but we have seen seen his antecedents and we know that he is not what we want to take us back to where we belong. My fear is that we dont want to go the Liverpool way- I mean the 30years of wait.

One thing you can take to the bank is that we going to have that famous 10-match winning spree but we are also going to have many of those frustrating matches which might be worse towards the end of the season. Is this what we want? Is that going to be enough, especially for Manchester united?

This is DEFINITELY beyond players not having enough rest .. it is DEFINITELY beyond the team not having an adequate preseason. It is beyond those!

How someone will read what you just wrote and still defend Ole is beyond me.

Every average team will at one point or another enjoy a rich vein of form in the course of the season so I don't get carried away when we hit that form because we'll be back to playing rubbish afterwards. It's what gave Ole the job and afterwards, we faltered. Last season, we started poorly only to pick up after Bruno was signed and when teams figured out they key to stopping us from creating chances was a parked midfield, we began to struggle again.

Yesterday, Liverpool showed their attacking prowess with TAA and Robertson combining for a goal. Watching that match, you'd marvel at the tactical play of both managers, Fabinho sat deep to protect the defense whilst TAA and Robertson pushed forward to stretch Arsenal allowing Mane, Firmino and Salah to press Arsenal from the front and when they beat that press, Wjinaldum and Keita engaged...Arsenal couldn't live with it even though they too looked dangerous on the counter. Watching the match, you feel Arsenal missed a midfielder who could resist that press and when Cebellos came in, they looked far more dangerous.

That's two coaches playing to the strength of their respective teams. Here, we are so disjointed, the front 3 will press but the midfield will sit back. When the midfield pushes up, the defense will sit back instead of pushing up to make the field compact. We are really behind in terms of playing progressive football...

You nailed it bru. I noticed some of those last night and well. I just feel alot of people have lowered expectations as regards how we should play. We have been so conditioned to celebrate certain successes that we used to see as normal. Even OLE is aware of all these cos he has said it a few times.

We have become Manchester United with expectations in the level of Cardiff. I actually appreciated the fact that we qualified for Champions League but if you analyze the way the team is set up... the way they play...the substitutions...the tactical inputs and displays... are we different from the lower placed teams? Are we even different from Super Eagles?

The Gaffer knows his players in and out and said they need about four to five games to get back to their top fitness levels, Nairaland pundits wants him gone after just two games!

Does it matter? So I should be an active footballer before I become eligible to criticise Ole for his poor performances? Chai! I shame for you.
The other day I was complaining of bad leadership in Nigeria and the only thing a half-witted dullard could reply me was, "If dem put you for there you fit rule?"
Oga whether I've ever kicked a round leather in my entire life or not is wholly inconsequential to the fact that Ole's tactics is shitty! That is if he even has one at all.
How you think that coach can take us back to the glory days beats my imaginations!

Do you know your tactics as a coach should be based on your players abilities and fitness levels?

No one here complained about tactics when we were winning games back to back with beautiful football after the lockdown!

Ok..

Don’t mind them, I don’t understand how these people can’t see how terrible the squad is. We need more players before we can know the true strength of this squad. Thunder fire Ed and the board. grin

What are you saying, both Arsenal and Spurs were never in front of us last season, they were below us.

Leicester had a meltdown and went from 2nd to 5th and Chelsea were shit also.

If 66pts - 66pts is progress for you, all the best.
