It's sad when I read some lazy youth writing about starting end ASUU who stands to suffer most from such trend if not the youth,is it not obvious the government is not been sincere about something this is a union some members have not been paid since Feb some since July and the govt is saying payment will stop by November, for those calling for end ASUU trend think again.

They are not being paid because they refused to be paid!

ASUU is beginning to sound lame. How would you be fighting for what your core staff will not even enjoy except the Senior Lecturers, Readers and Professors who in most cases are in the twilight stage of thier career? What is it about IPPIS that you cannot join and expose the non-availability of lecturers so that your "new products" can be employed and trainned? Why are these men now sounding so irritating?
They sound very Lame bro. Making us think they are agitating for us when it's all along for their selfish interests and whining. U sef check am now, IPPIS go help other people get jobs too make one lecturer no work 5 lecturing work at the behest of 5 unemployed people. After he will be going around selling handouts and summarzi a lecture of 4 months in 2 weeks because he has no time to go all round the clock.

That's a fat lie!
But the IPPIS deduction is a bit much sha. I know of a chief lecturer in a college of education whose monthly deduction is close to 70k, before IPPIS it was'nt up to 10k.
A prof. can never be paid 100k.

You have been fooled.

How do they generate money?

You mean that even though statutorily and by government edict people GO AND PAY tax to FIRS means that they generating money?

NNPC had declared loss in the past 15 years and you call that generating money. How many oil well does NNPC have? Which of their subsidiaries are into prospecting for oil? Is the work not done by the multinationals like Mobil, Shell...

When a student comes into a UNIVERSITY with zero knowledge of Engineering, Medicine and Accounting and leaves after 4-5 years with enough knowledge to apply for employment: you call that no productivity?

Rephrase please!

ok tell me one reason why they are running away from IPPS? though am not a mouth-piece of anybody, but at times we need to call a spade a spade.

Did you read the write up at all? Have you asked yourself why all those that registered with ippis initially (NASU and co) joined ASUU in the strike?

There are ghost workers in IPPIS system too.
Even if, it can never be as many. The cleansing has to start from somewhere. Ever wondered why other government agencies and parastatals complied without making noise? Why only ASUU?

ASUU is just showing us that even though the FG is complicit, it (ASUU) is a major factor in the rot in our university system.

Oga, pay or no pay, lecturers have always been aggressive with students in this country. That is not an excuse. Besides, if you know what junior lecturers earn, you'll be shocked.

The rod used to beat the senior wife is only just kept in store for the new wife. One day, it will be your turn.

Of all government agencies in Nigeria, only the Nigeria Medical Association NMA and ASUU can face the FG against injustice. Think before you take that power away from them.

There are issues the IPPIS has not addressed. The FG research institutions have not been able to employ anyone on sabbatical since the inception of their IPPIS. ..It's just one of the agitations

Someone told me that his father lectures in uniport and two other universities that if they join this IPPS,his father will not get money from the other universities and this IPPS is not reliable in paying them their complete salary.
Is this what it is about? Is he saying the truth or it a lie.Someone should tell me.

Lol... And what do they use as bargaining power??

Doctors use lives of innocent patients and ASUU use time of innocent students.

Both are not fair tbh

I'm with the FG on this, Let them register or resign.

Massive respect to FG for not caving. Since ASSU is bent on wasting my time, they won't also get what they want.

ASUU is just used to having their way but snizu doesn't give a f*ck. IPPIS is just to prevent ghost workers which would save this country lots of buck in the long run but ASUU is more interested in the allowance not covered by the system; also the fact that it makes it impossible for them to teach multiple institutions therefore collecting salaries instead of salary. Awon Ole

The inability of these so called adults and literates to Reason like men rather than throw shades is really disheartening. Agba ko Kogbon

U are talking out of ignorance. There is no university in the world that has all the manpower that it needs, NONE. You can't even employ too much for some specific areas so you simply invite someone to come and teach and such lecturer is paid based on hours taught. It's not salary as FG will want people to believe. It's allowance of between 30k to maybe 100k. It's also meant to end once school closes. This is done all over the world so help ur ignorance. Do u know that based on NUC guidelines, only PhD holders are meant to really teach especially beyond 100lv but due to shortages, we have masters holders teaching? Of coz there are lecturers that abuse the process. Besides, universities all over the world, including Nigeria have laws governing them and IPPIS bridges that law. There are more to this and Google is thy friend.

Bro let me tell u d truth, it is ASUU that is lying and using students mandate as bargaining chip for their selfish aims of controlling University payment system which favours the curruption of the system. bro reason am too our time don dey go. Abi we come Nigeria to com school forever? ASUU doesn't gv a Bleep about wat happens to the Nigerian students amidst all this fight but the are agitating for their pockets. U want the Nigerian goverment to honor the 2009 agreement but where can the get that kind of money now or even next year in a recession economy? bro reason am ASUU Should stop this incessant strikes while their kids are either abroad or in private schools. It is we the public school student that are getting delayed.
Pls let's trend #EndASUUstrikeNow.
I get your point but I don't want to talk about Nigerian economy (becos it has always been in recession and no government administration will tell you that there's money in the country)
I don't want to talk about where they will get money to honour 2009 agreement and also fund the education sector (we have policymakers in this country with huge amount of salary)
The blame should be on FG, they are just visionless
