Honestly, it is really frustrating! Please why did people usually have this negative thought to those innocent programmers doing their legit job?

Certain people have that mentality and if you look closer you will see that it's not their fault. They just need to be schooled

Next time call the person closer, open the IDE you are using to code and show the person. If you have a project, open the frontend and backend and also show the person previous jobs. It will go a long way to clear their doubt. Am telling you from experience.

I do experience this too but I don't care what people think about me. I don't even give them the audience for them to even get closer or ask stupid questions. One of my nigga wey I wan teach online biz, (Trading and other legit stuff like that) the guy no just dey serious , he said dey stressful and looking for all those yahoo stuff that will make him hit at once. I just shake my head for him and leave him. Today is he still doing labourer in construction site. The idiot will still be asking which job dey move thinking maybe I dey do illegal stuff online. Already move far away from cuz his mentality is too low.

Because Nigerians have a Fuxcked up mentality about most things. So closed minded and at the root of it all is selfishness, hating on others and low self esteem and self worth.

Search engine optimization takes less time for me as my gigs of Fiverr is for link building, I have a softwares for that and some manually. Most of my income comes from upwork as a web developer.
