Greetings to the generous doctors!

Please I have been having this recurring malaria symptoms for almost a year now.

Catarrh
Fever
Muscle/joint ache
Migraine
Fatigue.

I have been to the general hospital and the docs prescribed some malaria drugs. The last time I was there, I got some drugs and it seemed to work as I got some relief for about 2 months. But now the symptoms are back again.
It is really messing up my life. I'm gonna have an extra year in school because of it.

What should I do please?

Hi Doctors,

I woke up with a pain my penis. I noticed few days before this my urine stream was lower than it used to be. I still have the pain and dribbling when urinating (i thought this was due to my pelvic floor dysfunction but this feels different).

I still have the constant pain and poor urine flow. The only cause i could think of is me straining my urethra to force pee out some days ago. Is this enough to cause me a urethra stricture or are there other likely causes?

Thanks

Sir pls how did u solve this. Am experiencing the same thing i even created a thread just this morning. Sir pls help am scared.

Doctor Biko don't abandon this thread. I for one know how busy you all can be but pls remember this thread in ur leisure time

I am bothered n I need ur advice. .me hubby has been complaining of pain in his anus recently. I even told him if he is sure it's not pile? But he quickly said it's not so I concluded it would be d ginger he had been chewing of late.

So just this morning he told me while taking his bath he noticed a growth in his anus n he is now believing d pile I once suggested could be d problem

My problem now is that is it only through operation that pile can be cured permanently?
If yes, is it a minor or major surgery?
If no, pls which other option do we have?

Pls doctor help a troubled wife

Hi
Prevent constipation by increasing dietary fiber or laxatives. If painful defaecation due to haemorrhoids, you can ask your pharmacist for eg scheriproct suppository or any combination with lidocaine/steroid.

Hi
It depends on the grade of pile. Medical management are tried first. Surgical management varies and can include cautery, haemorrhoidectomy, ligation etc. It can be commonly done under local anaesthetics so not major procedure unless coexisting problems that can complicate things

Hi
Resistance to antimalaria is quite common. Intermittent fever is common with certain strains of malaria. The best way to know is to do resistance testing of the particular strain affecting you if indeed you have malaria

Health Checks. Doctor in the House

For all you Nairalanders I have decided to be your official doctor in the house. I have found this site so helpful in bonding me to my motherland I have decided to give medical advice with the usual disclaimer. This is just advice. Further treatment should be sought from your personal physician!
Hello doctor thanks for volunteering to be our doctor here please doctor am a sickle and my type my crisis is always severe and the worst part is that I found it difficult to add weight and height and it gives me low self esteem considering the way people look down on me. I have seen some people who had the same sickness as me but they look more healthy than me I wish someone can help me. Imagine am already in my 20 but I looks like a 15 years old is quite depressing

I have brought this here because I went to the Federal Teaching Hospital where I am registered today and was told that Doctors are on strike. And I really need to talk to a professional.

That said, some couples of months ago, I was referred to a gastroenterologist after recurrent sessions on my abdominal issues failed to yield lasting results. Since February, 2020 I have been having acute cases of diahhrea, constipation, abdominal pains, heartburn and the biggest, FOOD INTOLERANCE. I noticed that I have severe issues like diahhrea and abdominal cramps whenever I take foods that contain gluten or take diary products that contain lactose or take take drinks that contain caffeine, carbonated water and artificial sweeteners.

The CONSULTANT PRESCRIPTION: The gastroenterologist I consulted suspected dyspepsia and ordered blood tests, stool tests to test for halicobacter pylori antigen, and an abdominal USS. I know these things because I browsed the meaning of the tests before going for them.

The DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS:
1. The blood tests for Lvs and other stuffs came out NEGATIVE.
2. The Abdominal USS report states that my abdomen is fit and in normalcy.
3. My stool test for Halicobacter Pylori antigen came back POSITIVE.

Now, today, I went for consultation and I am told that specialist clinics don't work on Saturdays and that besides, Doctors are currently on strike. I read up on the HP and could see that it is one of the leading causes of peptic ulcers around the world.

MY APPEAL:
Please what do I do now. How do I kill the Halicobacter of a thing and achieve peace with my body? I have had another diahhrea bout in the last 24 hours. I have mild heartburn and sometimes have joint and abdominal pains to hat escalate when I eat wheat, bread or any glutened food.

DOCTORS IN THE HOUSE, PLS PRESCRIBE DRUGS/TREATMENT FOR ME.

Thank you all for reading.

I have pains in my lower right abdomen. It comes and goes...I've been having the pain for a few years.. then I decided to check it out and the doctor said I have acute PID. He also said endometritis. Now my problem is I'm not sexually active so I don't know how I could have gotten it. Please can you tell me how and ways I can avoid future occurrence.. I was placed on antibiotics.

Could be few thing’s. Constipation could be one of it as the most benign cause to possible malignancy

My Nairalanders and Doctors! Good Day.

Please does any one have any suggestions on where I can get a good neurologist for consultation? Or the best hospital to go to for neurological consult?

I can search around myself, but I dont want to end up in the hands of a quack, or someone inexperienced in the field.

Thank you for your help.
