I have read lots of complaints about getting Nigerian passport in the UK. Is Nigerian passport still being renewed in the UK if one starts on time to apply? Anyone with recent experience?

On a normal day the embassy is so slow and can be tedious, now you added covid wahala of multiple lockdown since early 2020..... so Nigeria High Commission are saying plenty backlog dey. Till answering people from April 2020 so when will they catch up. ... only God knows.

My husband applied immediately lockdown ended sept or so. He hasn't heard back regarding appointment date so for many its a waiting game

This really does not make sense.

I received my provisional driving licence less than 2 weeks after application around mid-December 2020. My elder brother got his ILR application approved less than 2 months after applying also in mid-December 2020. I got my COS for tier-2 renewal sent to me following an application from my sponsor in less than 2 days.

Despite the huge restrictions and reduction of staff due to the implementation of social distancing rules here in the UK, essential services are still working effectively & efficiently through innovation. The system is adapting as the situation unfolds. Also, the times I called their phone line, I did not wait for more than 5 minutes.

However, the Nigerian High Commission is still closed with the back-log growing massively. No innovation to attend to customers. They cannot even answer their phones and respond to email messages. Now, I'm hearing one might need to pay extra to get an earlier date.

The basic can not even be accomplished. This is so so annoying. Who did this to us?

We did this to ourselves.
1. We let tribal, ethnic and religious sentiments to becloud our judgment.
2. We vote in nincompoops into power as a result of (1) above.
3. We flatly refuse to be involved and engaged in policy making (by not participating in politics).

Yes, we did this to ourselves.

Here sir, drink water and calm down. Wahala no dey finish.

Nigerian embassy? They aren’t worth your stress. A friend called me recently to shout about the embassy and how she needs to renew her visa.

When she finished, I just asked her when she’s booking her flight to Nigeria, lol

Nigerian embassy? I don’t know why you people still think we have a consulate here! We are alone grin

Hello everyone, please i need a clarification on this; hubby has been on Tier 2 work Visa(3 years) since 2019.We joined him as dependents recently. He got another offer with another Employer and he's applying for another visa. The new employer provided COS that will cover us as well. Do we need to apply for visas together with him? Are our BRPs still valid despite him applying for a new Visa? Please help!!

You know the thing about making enquiries, and @‘ing some people?
There may be others with the knowledge to help, but will not. Since your question is/wasn’t directed at them.

Now to your question.

Look at your BRP carefully, you will see that the end date was made to coincide exactly with the Main Applicant’s end date.

If (God forbid) the sponsor had withdrawn their CoS, and the main applicant hasn’t got another job, it means both main applicant and dependants would have their BRPs curtailed.

As a dependant, your Permit is dependant on the main applicant whose permit is dependant on the Sponsor.

Short answer: Yes. You will ALL need to apply for new visas.

Please how do we get NCDC to provide an alternative for travelers arriving Nigeria from the UK. My friends have missed their flight as they were denied boarding. This is because they do not have the completed online form NCDC demands of them and for the past 4days, NCDC International travel portal website has been down. Forms are unable to be completed, post arrival Covid-19 tests are unable to be paid for and now Nigerians are missing their flights with their negative PCR results expiring.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

PS
NCDC Officials have been contacted, emails sent, chats sent via WhatsApp, tweets done all to no avail.

Plus those who head and work in the consulates, are also normal Nigerians... who would probably still come to ask "who did this to us?" It's a vicious cycle that we choose to be blind to. We keep doing ourselves, thinking someone is doing us.

This is true, from Monday 15th February all international flight passengers especially from the red zones will be taken straight from the airports to a hotel to isolate for 10 days at a cost of £1, 750. If you are visiting that’s most of your shopping money gone. cool

You (dependants) do not need to re-apply as long as your current visa is valid and main applicant continues to remain in-status (employed). No go dash Home Office money o.

Does not hold again. As long as main applicant is in-status (valid employment with visa) old dependants visas remain valid till validity expires (then they can switch to whatever visa main applicant currently holds).

Normally you pay for training which is just about 100 pounds.... 6k to pay , need heard of that. Seems very fraudulent to pay that upfront for care job

You are in Nigeria.
You got a job as caregiver in the UK.
The owners of the job are asking you to pay £6000 for licence and transport.
Licence? Caregiver licence? Issued by an authority in the UK?

Please I need some enlightenment regarding council tax.

I used to think it's paid as part of a household's utility bill. I'm being made to understand that its nice for each person to pay if husband n wife are both employed so that their immigration status can be interdependent on each other. Thus if one person gets frustrated with his job, their immigration status is retained/stable.

I don't seem to understand this
