It's not about believing or not, it's about being able to demonstrably prove something and the fact that they weren't there doesn't mean they can't prove the age of the earth. Moreover, is not even a definite number, there's always room for approximation. Using Google doesn't mean believing everything on Google, search for scientific peer reviewed journals that can provide up-to-date information in relation to the topic..
