Admob090:
my friend who has just been offered admission to study geology is kinda scared whether to accept it or rewrite another jamb considering the nigerian job market after graduation.
First of all, I know say na you get the admission. No be your friend.

No course makes sense outside the school environment. However, there is a branch of data analysis the is VERY hot right now that's from geology field. I think geospatial analysis or so. Deliberately develop yourself in IT in geology, and you wouldn't have problem. I did agricultural economics in school. I am working as a data scientist. Ensure you get skills beyond what your course offer.

The bolded is arrant nonsense!!! Yoruba migrated to present day Nigeria from southern part of Upper Volta which was northern part of Gold Coast. They formed a migratory team with Fulani and settled in Oyo ile which was 30 to 40 miles north of Ilorin, Kwara State. The southward movement of Yoruba was as a result of uproot precipitated by Fulani and Nupe. The crap about Ife is a made-up story.
Lolz una no well for this Nairaland. Person wey see u now go think say u know something. Just say nonsense with boldness.

Itsekiri and Yoruba land are connected via Atlantic Ocean. Same way Alaska in the US gets connected to the mainland US.

A simple study of the map will teach you that Alaska is closer to Russia and and shares thousands of miles of boundary with Canada but far and detached from the US in physical land territory.

We oduduwas and the Itsekiris will connect same way Alaska and mainland US connect together.

Pls tell me the diplomatic and economic factors that favours Edo Republic if they get independent Republic?
Even if we are not connected by sea, Itsekiri can be a sovereignty part of Yoruba nation within snother country as Spain has in Morocco, UK in Argentina etc. There instances of sovereign states within another state in Africa. The boy is just being ignorant

Igala kingdom has been in existence before the name Yoruba was given to you people around 17c or so. you can't call Igala Yoruba .go and check your history that how they call people Nago and olukumi people Yoruba minewhile there are igalas. Igala can not be Yoruba go and check your history bro. the only people that existed among igala people than are igala kingdom, benin kjngdom, oyo empire and the rest nothing like Yoruba than. they just use educate to turn the story upside side via ajayi Crowder .main you igala are in southeast south south and many other places, igala ruled back than ask any Yoruba man to tell you the meaning of ikoyi in yoruba, it not found ikoyi means time in igala. remember even the nupe ruled oyo for many years. before they think to form Yoruba. even some minority tribe have been there before Yoruba. go and ask about Attah Igala
Oga stop saying what you don't know. Are you aware there are other parts of Yoruba land that bear Ikoyi? The stories of the Igalas are known knowledge. Stop saying what you don't know. If you want to know how the Igalas and Yorubas are linked, check out archives in Ife and Oyo. I am nit going to say anything here. Because some of the story would sound insulting in 21st century.

More hypocrites showing their faces!

You have already concluded them that they can't be an independent nation, really? Based on what factors?

The Bini people said they don't want to be part of Oduduwa, why not leave them alone instead of all these blackmail and intimidation?

FYI, if the Bini people refuse to be part of Oduduwa, it automatically means you can't have Itshekiri too because you will have to get past Bini people to have access to Itshekiri and UN can't grant such.
Binis are part of Yorubas. But that's not really my concern. Because in reality, the Bini has been betraying everyone. The idea of Midwest was the Bini allowing themselves to be used by the north.

Talking about Itsekiri, There are many instances of a sovereign state within another state. A quick check will confirm this. But honestly, I am more concern about having a willing Oduduwa nation than coercing anyone to join.

Abeg after such confession, is there any reason to charge him to court huh
When it comes to the life of a man, he must be always giving the opportunity to safe his life, if there be any chance that he was innocent.

Imagine for a moment that he was coerced into confessing. Or a gun is on his family's head somewhere in order to safe the REAL culprit and you take him directly from the confession ground to the gallows.

It is better that 9 criminals escape than for one innocent person be sent to death. That's why it is very important for investigations to be thorough. And investigators to be free of any form of bias.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Have You Ever Lost A Job Offer Because You Negotiated Your Salary Too High? by Powersurge: 11:36am On Jun 16, 2021
LandMann:
Yeah... Back then, they wanted to pay me 40% less than my salary expectation. I stuck to what I want to be payed... They laughed and told me there's no job out there. I said no problem but still stuck to the salary I want.

I didn't get the job but I have zero regrets about it. I know the value of my time and the value of the skills I have and value I'll be bringing to your business.

So if you want to pay me less than my worth I just smile and refuse to take your offer and move on.

Why? Cos I learnt early on to be self reliant by acquiring a digital skill I can sell at my own pace and time for USD.

Now I don't have to work as hard as a bank manager but this is just midway into the month and I have earned close to or more than the salary of that same bank manager.

Dear Nigerian youth, go to Google and YouTube and learn a digital skill please. It's not going to be easy but you'll never regret it after 3 years or more. Learn a skill you know will always be in demand and you genuinely have interest for given your own abilities and circumstances. Just do your own research and get started from somewhere.

Nigeria is not getting better soon and you have to be prepared for the worst.

This message is just to motivate u so you can get up and take action. I don't provide training and I don't give advice that you can get by just googling or watching YouTube videos on your own. Just take this as a motivational pill to get you off your feet and stop worrying about Nigerian employers.

Soon they will have to employ themselves to do the shïty jobs they pay pennies for.
Is this Upwork? I am a data analyst. I registered on Upwork last year. I was frustrated and I abandoned that platform. How are you going about this?

Buhari has just 30% blame. It is the nonentities that supported him that I blame.

If 2015 was an error, what about 2019? In 2019, I came all the way from my abode to vote Kingsley Morghalu (can't vote him again. He appears to be a conformist), many youths were telling me I was wasting my vote. I felt appalled. There was an elderly idiot in 2015 dt nearly fight everybody over Buhari. Shortly after Buhari enter, he lost everything. Being "eatinh dust " ever since.

2023 is coming, some nonentity are still routing for another known calamity. Ori yin a to pe! This way wey dey happen na joke. Make una continue.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Plateau Or Gombe State? by Powersurge:
Why will somebody leaves the entire south that contributes nearly 80% of the country's GDP and wants to move north? Life na per head sha.

I lived in Plataeu for one year. I moved from Jos to Magu to Panshin to Shendam etc. Plateau is as barren a land as Somalia. Most bank staff were employed from south and transfered there. The commonest job is school teacher. Insecurity has made farming unattractive. Jos always experience major crisis that takes tens, sometimes hundreds of lives at least once in five years. Jos South and Jos north are natural enemy. Berom people (the owner of Jos) are always slaughtered by Fulanis. Shendam is not exempted from violence. There was major carnage in Yelwa some years ago (that is the place Pantamj was recorded saying he would send jihadists to to slaughter people) . It is still brewing.

Magu, Panshin, Jos, the cold in these places could take your life if you have health problems or are not used to extreme weather change.

Cost of living is relatively low. I saw a 2-bedroom flat in Shendam for 50k. Goats, yams are very cheap. You can buy and come and sell down south. THERE IS NO FROZEN FOOD THE ENTIRE SHENDAM LG. likewise many other LG. you could look into such business. No difference between indigenous Plataeu and Southerners. They love flexing like us.

Note: indigenes Plateau people are peaceful and reasonable people.

If you like flexing, don't relocate to core north. There Sharia is a problem. Your neighbor might be spying on you, the day trouble starts, you will be first he would come for. I went to Kano, as relatively "civilized" as Kano is, I had problem. To enter keke with the opposite sex na wahala. Imagine for a moment places like Zamfara.
