Philosopher1979:
"Westerhoff really tried, he brought Dan Amokachi, Uche Ukechukwu, Finidi George, alloy Agu, Ben Iroha into limelight after our then foreign based players failed to turn up for the afcon".

In the same vein bringing Akinkunmi Amoo, Samson Tijani, Kelechi Nwakali, Obina Nwobodo into the team
will solve our midfied issues within 45 minutes. Where was Amokachi when Westerhoof used him. He was still in Ranchers bees.
You dont wait for talent to explode in a major Euroean team before you use them.
He should just arrange a friendly and use them or even against these nonsense teams we are playing now.
Westerhofs model of using unkown talent before they are ripe works.
Rohr is simply getting it wrong.
African born talents cant get into European teams on time because they are not well advertised and they have
to be patient.
I remember George Finidi made an impression against Burundi within 45 minutes.
For example Chidera ejuke in the few matches he has played has allready made an impression.
Even Frank Onyeka is looking creditable.
Rohr just has to open his eyes and be a little free minded. He has to think outside the box
Don't worry about midfield Baba. In November, everyone in this nation will be shocked

The team should aim to score more than 2 goals in their next match versus Liberia

They could give the state a face-lift and build a bunch of these. Nigerian architecture needs a face-lift. All states need to start building modern edifices.

Egypt is currently the 6th ranked nation in CAF and they are at 48 globally. Even if we drop in ranking, it would be mathematically impossible to drop 14 spots and have Egypt supplant us in the rankings. All things considered, we can still drop a few spots, remain 5th in Africa and still be placed into pot 1 if we move onto the next round.

In other words, Pot 1 is pretty much secured. We just need to qualify from this round.

Watching Burkina Faso, Egypt, and Algeria scoring goals against opponents. Can't the super eagles score more than 2goals in a match?
Many people on this thread are deluded. If things continue as they are, something big is gonna happen soon. It will break Nairaland servers.

n u r saying we may face senegal .
I don't think so.
The draw has format to it ,and what I put up there is d format
No it isn't. CAF announced that they would revert back to the 2014 format. That format entailed the placement of the ten teams into 2 pots based on rankings. Teams would then be drawn to fave each other afterwards. Go check the 2014 format.

Napoleon55:
If we maintained our position as d fift ranked in africa .
We will definitely or likely meet d winner from this group.

Divided into two groups,
Highest ranked from 1 to 5 will face d highest from 6 to 10

Eg.
1 vs 6
2 vs 7
3 vs 8
4 vs 9
5 vs 10

We will b facing d least ranked group winner as long as we maintain our position
This isn't how it works. There will be a draw. That's why if we slip in rankings, we'll br placed in pot 2 and risk facing the likes of Algeria, Senegal and Morocco.

You know when all those minnows face Nigeria, that's when their bones become strong. I would honestly prefer the Liberia game at a neutral venue instead of going to Liberia to play the game. The Cape Verde 2nd leg would be interesting for sure with a lot at stake for both sides.
Not in this case. Since Liberia is out of contention, their players will be apathetic and unmotivated to even step onto the field and play competitively (after all, what's there to play for?). Any competent coach would use that occasion to score an easy victory.

We're lucky to have home advantage against the Cape Verdeans but with Rohr at the wheel I wouldn't be surprised to see the team fumble that advantage.

So the Europeans get to play 3 games during the break and while it's only 2 for us?

I get that UEFA more matches to run but CAF should also be doing things in a timely manner as well. This round could've finished more quickly with 3 matches per international break.

monster machine' is just an exaggeration if it is applied to his current form. Does he have the potential to be a great striker? Definitely yes
Not really. He was the joint highest scorer in Europe last month and is currently co-leading the Europa league in goals scored. Also one of the top scorers in Serie A. Every Napoli game he commits himself 110%, wins penalties, scores, makes decisive passes, scrambles defenders, etc.

He truly is a monster machine.

Well my brother I might just wanna agree with you but they are not really paying them directly for using their airline,I followed the event where the deal was signed and amaju said the sponsorship actually reduce the money being spent on airlines to transport the player that they are paying for a better service for a reduced cost, what am saying actually is NFF is still paying airpeace for player's transportation at the end of the day if they meet up with some particular target that might give them some bonus for example if they use the airline for some particular time they might give them some particular discount for example if they're using the airline for like 10 times they might give them bonus for using the airline they might just pay for the ticket of 13 player instead of the whole 23 this was what the whole deal was all about, there were no part in the deal that was monetary all was actually SERVICE based my brother.
Thanks for the clarification. Better than nothing I guess, right??

NFF paying him huh Or he is giving NFF discount...abegii let's get it straight ohh
It's a 4 year sponsorship deal that was signed weeks ago. Air Peace is paying NFF to market their product - that being its airline.
