South Africa has one of the world's greatest cricket sides and arguably the best rugby union side in the world at the moment. Their success in those sports stem from world class training facilities, great administration and a robust university varsity sporting system. The eventuality of everyone being deducted points from games with the bottom placed team is a given due to already established rules and the exit of Eritrea. The Mokoena situation will take much longer as SA will surely drag this to the CAS and trigger a legal battle that may drag for months.

Every match against the bottom placed teams in the groups apart from the group that has 5 teams will be discounted. In the case of our group, the 2 points we got versus Zimbabwe will be removed, if we finish 2nd. For Gabon in group F, the 6 points the got from Seychelles will be discontinued. This will be done after all the matches are concluded. By then we will see who finished 2nd in all the groups and who finished last. This method has been consistently been adopted by FIFA, UEFA and CAF previously. I think if we win all our matches we will be among the best runner up 100%, but any slip ups will be dicey

This needs to be explored more on here. This is much more certain than SA being deducted 3 points for Mokoena
