RikoduoSennin:No, just as "the creator of the earth" doesn't. Then, how can I worship him when he himself is a creation? That's your opinion. Not everyone accepts that fallacy that he was created. @ bolded, not necessary that I knew that watches are created: but more about complex gears and wheels working together in precision can't come by chance. You wouldn't have accepted it that way without the idea of watch creation. But it's a norm for every product you see around you to have a manufacturer. It's this idea that gets into your head and doesn't even make you doubt anything at all about its being created. The idea of the earth being created is a make up belief based on no evidence. No one created the earth. The first human didn't create the earth. He also met it here. The earth has no manufacturer name. Its flaws don't give the idea that it was created by an intelligent being. It's natural. Your wrist watch is manmade. And not everyone accepts that the earth was created, and that disqualifies its authencity. Accepting the earth was created would only be based on assumption, faith. The earth is more complex and precise that Rolex time piece, so it can't come about by chance. Its complexity doesn't give merit to a creator. Such is the mystery in life. It'd only be childish to attribute it to a creator who stays hidden and silent. You have heard that God is the creator of earth you choose to ignore that. Human's are limited to what we can perceiveSo you'd believe me if I told you Santa Claus created the sun, huh? |

theunusualmoon:And what's religion by definition? |
dejii01:Ok.. Thanks. Hope it's any type of calculator? |
theunusualmoon:He didn't preach religion? What did He mean then when He preached "believe" in God and His Son. |
theunusualmoon:Not just seeing. I don't feel anything from Him as I'd from my spouse. If that's the criterion you follow to accept the existence of God why don't you believe super man, Santa Clause, aliens, etc exist? You got it wrong there. I don't confidently say there's no God because of my inability to see him. The reason is because since religion is what brought the idea of God and when (the religion) it's critically examined proved to contain flaws and earthly I prudently infer that the idea of God is manmade. |
sinequanon:Not Different? You didn't get what I meant there. You said, "if you pray, you'll succeed in life." Now let's pick a scientific theory that says "add acid and base, you'll get salt and water". Let's bring both under observation and test. What you'll get is that the theory of "pray and you'll succeed" doesn't work everytime, while the theory of "neutralization" does. With that, we can infer that the theory of "pray and you'll succeed" isn't substantiately valid and should be done away with. The theory of "neutralization" proves right experimentally and, therefore, continues to be a theory, unlike the fallacy of "pray and you'll succeed". Apart from the fact that the dispute in science can't be compared with that of the so-called "divine" religion, what prevailing ideas are there in denomintaion? You call it "prevailing ideas" they call it the "work of the devil" because it opposes their beliefs and doctrines, and they will never settle for anything "outside" their denomination to be "prevailing ideas". |

RikoduoSennin:Your faith creates his existence. When you can prove God then faith is no longer required. Faith only comes in when you have no evidence to support a claim. Moreover, proving God exists will make Him part of nature and not SUPERnatural. |
RikoduoSennin:This Fool just believes everything in the Bible without external evidence. Yet he'll claim that he doesn't have a blind faith! He doesn't worth arguing with! |
RikoduoSennin:Now I don't argue when biased fairytales are introduced. [qoute] I have neither seen nor heard about the makers of my Rolex watch: That doesn't mean they don't exist, Why, because my Rolex watch exists and it can't come by chance, and that is enough for me to know that someone exist who made it.[/quote]Good. And what you do next is start worshipping the maker of the watch, right? THE EARTH IS PERFECT FOR LIFE IS PROOF ENOUGH FOR ME THAT GOD EXIST.You have your reasons for believing the maker of your watch exists. Why? Because you already have the knowledge that wrist watch are createable. They can't just come by chance. You accept it as fact that there must indeed be a maker of that watch, as such is the normal thing in our world. You haven't heard that anyone has created the earth before. It's not createable. We all met it here. We accept it to be natural. There is no reason to believe it was created, as such never happen in our world. We only make up the idea of a Creator on the ground of no evidence in the sense that such kind of creation has never been observed. The Creator doesn't tell you he/she/it created it. The creation doesn't have any label of manufacturer whatsoever, unlike your Rolex watch that has a trade mark. All these are called nature. Believing the opposite is based on childish blind faith! Have you heard of "Registers", I am sure you have. Football, Law, Medicines have their own Registers. So too Religion has theirs. You can't use the general definition on it: Have you notice different definition for a particular word in a dictionary?Yh.. For example, "note" in the dictionary means the following: - a short piece of writing to help you remember something. - a piece of paper money. - a single sound of a particular length and pitch made by the voice or a musical instrument. - a particular quality in something. The actual meaning of note can be understood in the context where it's used. When I use note in music only one of those definitions goes with it. The note in music is different from the note in currency. Going by that, then only one religion is right. Since each religion presents God in a way different from other religion, then 99 in 100 of them don't serve the Creator, even though they would defend their religion to death. That's serious! And again, they are all wrong. How? Taking the note in currency term for example, if the note exists there'll be a general conclusive feature about it. God in religion term doesn't exist because there isn't such general conclusive feature. Taking a car for another clear example, we can all agree on anything about it. It has two side mirrors, four black tyres etc. If it doesn't exist there'll be confusion about its features because they don't exist! |
RikoduoSennin:Yeah, not all of them are reliable but some are. Even, some Christian websites are dubious too, so as atheist websites. But whatever has a general conclusion, with slight changes, is very well reliable. Research books written by bible Scholars for a change. Compare various various books written bey these scholars.geeez. Are you still arguing that Paul's letters didn't pre-date the Gospels? Are you implying that THE ORIGINAL LETTERS STILL EXIST TODAY, because these writers wrote in biodegradable materials which won't last long. HENCE EVERY PARCHMENT/SCROLLS your suppose researchers use was nothing COPY OF A COPY.Copy of a copy still written in biodegradable materials, which exist. Even, the original copies of some of the OT books exist. Have you heard about the Dead Sea Scrolls? Many of these dates are based on SPECULATIONS, So if You are saying they are not accurate and the Apostles were not the writers of the bible THEN WE CAN'T TRUST EVERY SUPPOSE WRITERS OF CONTEMPORARY CLASSICAL LITERATURE FOR THE SAME REASONS TOO.Sure. So why do we bother about those books? ![]() |
sinequanon:There isn't any credit to give to that since the observable and testable evidence are not general/universal when coming to a conclusion. The one that's creditable is the one that comes to a general/universal conclusion, not the one that differs and causes confusion. You may not like some people's interpretations of the observABLE and testABLE evidence, and they may not like yours. You may prefer another explanations for why Mr. Fitzmolars succeeded in life. But, just because you disagree with his interpretation of the evidence doesn't mean it wasn't "observABLE" or "testABLE".The same thing applies here. Scientific observations are general with no different interpretation. And that's what separates science from belief. |

sinequanon:Except observable and testable evidence is involved, it's not a proof. |
You may or may not have come across this verses. They make it plain that either Jesus has returned the Second Time, or will never return anymore. Most Christians preach the Second Coming of their Lord without considering what the Bible says about it. These ones just swallow everything they hear from the alter or other Christians; go in groups parading everywhere with their bells and megaphone broadcasting the news of their Lord's Second Coming. And when someone challenges them with some verses in the Bible that clearly disprove their doctrine, they go like... hoho?? We also have those who still reason with their head, though they are not willing to drop their blind faith. They admit there's a problem somewhere. But what they do is either overlook it or find some pointless explanation to get around the problem. These verses disprove the widespreading notion that Jesus is still coming. But first, lets consider the conversation between Jesus and His disciples in Matt 24. King James Version (KJV) And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" Then Jesus gives many signs concerning His Second Coming and the end of the world. 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." The catch in the signs is that the disciples' generation will not pass away before Jesus returns. What more is stated there? Nothing. Their generation has passed. Either Jesus has returned, or He will never return. The former has no place in history. The game doesn't stop there. Christians seem to have every solution to any problem in the Bible. Here is Gotquestions' take: This quote of Jesus in regards to the end times is found in Matthew 24:34; Mark 13:30; and Luke 21:32. Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place." The key to understanding what Jesus means is the context; that is, we must understand the verses that are surrounding verse 34, but especially the verses prior to it. In Matthew 24:4-31, Jesus is speaking of future events. The generation of people living when those events occur is the generation that Jesus speaks of "not passing" until He returns. Jesus had already told those living during His earthly ministry that the kingdom had been taken from them ( Matthew 21:43). Therefore, it is imperative that Matthew 24-25 be seen as speaking of a future time. The word “generation” refers to the people alive in the future when the events of Matthew 24-25 will occur.http://gotquestions.org/this-generation-not-pass.html Now that sounds okay to those whose common sense has ceased functioning. That's just one of the dumb ways Christians get around problem. Jesus clearly says, "this generation" which if I were to report I would say "Jesus said that generation" i.e, a generation that has passed. What Gotquestion did was change the words of Jesus to "the generations to come", and that makes them unChristian; and me, the faithful nigga ![]() There are other verses in the Bible that disprove the idea of a "future event". Here is an example: "See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. 17 Beware of them, for they will hand you over to councils and flog you in their synagogues; 18 and you will be dragged before governors and kings because of me, as a testimony to them and the Gentiles. 19 When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. 21 Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death; 22 and you will be hated by all because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next; for truly I tell you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes Matt 10. So, Jesus, if at all He existed, lied again and deceived His disciples. He's not coming back. The Second Coming teaching is a waste. Here's what we do: "21 You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that the Lord has not spoken?” 22 If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it." Deut 18. And next time don't make the mistake of calling Jesus God. This how God works: "10 For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it." Isaiah 55. |
theunusualmoon:You are entirely on a different line bro. |
RikoduoSennin:I can make myself believe I have a guardian angel who will always help me when I'm in trouble. I can make it up. I can be sure of it. I can make myself feel certain he does go everywhere with me. I can root all my faith and believe in him. But I can not prove to anyone he exists. Just as plaetton said, his existence is in my head, and my head only. Get it? Though we can't see God but Creation gives EVIDENCE That he Exist!Childish! How does creation give you the evidence? Look up at the sky. What do you see?? You mean you can see a label like "I am created by the Christian God" ?? Huh?? Does the sun tell you that? No! The existence of a Creator comes from human assumption, faith! And that's pretty childish! The Above defination of Faith refers to the NON-BIBLICAL MEANING OF THE WORD "FAITH" .Your Bible shouldn't use the word "faith" then if it means another thing other than the true meaning of religious faith! |
RikoduoSennin:That's a lesson for you that explains the saying, "fools run into where angels dread to enter" So next time don't jump into arguments you have weak or no point for. You said the above with so much certainty, I am yet to see the proof for that claim. The above is not good enough. Why?I can see how naive you are. You just believe everything written in the Bible to be true. As a sister said, the Bible didn't fall from heaven; it has history and origin. The early Christians cherry picked some books and letters and compiled them into the Bible. The Bible is a collection of stories and letters. There were more letters having the name of Paul as the author but were not incorporated into the Bible, why? They were found to be forgeries, as it was not uncommon for Christians then to forge letters in the name of any notable apostle so as to make their doctrine authoritative, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Clements are examples. They have the name of Paul has author but were not choosen because they were forged. Paul never wrote them. Same thing goes with most of the books in the Bible. Using those verses as proof that Peter wrote those books and claimed to be an eyewitness is like an ignorant loon fooling himself around here. It is not a UNIVERSAL FACT but a WIDELY ACCEPTED NOTION by persons who has not done enough Research. How laughable? Bro, go online and ask any Bible scholar whether the letters of Paul pre-date the Gospels or not. Be sure to give me a feedback. Search this: What year was the Gospel of Mark written ?70 - 75 AD 4 legit/Canon Gospels, Every other Gospel is False. Any Book written after 95 C.E is non- canon. So we conclude that the book of John is false. Here is from Gotquestions.org, a notable Christian website: "There are some that believe there is good evidence to support the view that the whole New Testament, including Revelation, was written prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D [that's, at least, 40 years, after the death of Jesus!] It is our contention that the evidence supports the earlier dating more than it does the later dating. There are scholars who believe the Gospel of Matthew was written as early as ten to twelve years after the death of Christ." Tho those scholars Gotquestions referred to got that last sentence wrong, because the Gospel of Matthew was written more than 40 years after Jesus's death, they all agree that the Gospels were written after Christ's death. That is, they are not eyewitnesses. So bro, go back and learn a bit history. Stop staining your personality with ignorance here. It only makes you look like a brain-washed fool. |
cloudstar:With no other observable alternative, we can conclude that it did. The common school boy argumentHow can anything exist outside time and space?? There was no time and space before the universe began, with that, it can be said to be eternal. Even if there was any intelligent designer it can't be your God because it doesn't have features you attribute to your God. It doesn't connect to us. It only made the "first cause". You are arguing from incomplete reference - you are cherry picking one statement without reading the entire text. If you read the entire text, it makes it clear that God created everything. The Bible also makes it very clear that God is eternal; so your argument that the Bible didn't use "Before the Beginning" has too many holes in itWhat I'm I cherry picking? I stated what your Bible states that your God has a beginning. And maybe after He began to exist He started creating things. But one thing is He has a beginning which is no different from the universe. Christian authors and Christians all know that God is eternal and existed before the beginning. If you want verses that state "Before", I will happily indulge you:It is not uncommon for the Bible to contradict itself. Where one place states "in the beginning" another place will tell you a different thing. It'd lead to nowhere if I started quoting out verses that contradict those up there. It is also not uncommon for the Bible to make scientific errors, like the assertion that anything can exist outside time and space. Now if all you'll keep doing is swallowing up apologetics lies and errors and coming here to vomit them for me to clean... I'm done with you. |
Would have replied you in a tough way, but seeing how ignorant you are I just decided to handle you softly RikoduoSennin:Little Bro, those people are not the writers of the Gospels. It was the early Christians that ascribed the Gospels to those names. The manuscripts do not have the names of their author. You'd observe St. this St. that... the work of Catholics. Paul's letters did not pre-date ALL THE GOSPELS!You should have made some research instead of coming here to make a fool of yourself. It's a universal fact that Paul letters pre-date the Gospels. More Gospels? You mean the Apochrypha gospels written at a later time period by imposters.Initially, they were 4 out of 400. |
more... The four Gospels were not written by eye witnesses. The first written, Mark, was written 45 years after the supposed death of Jesus. John being the last written, 95 - 120AD. One then wonders how the record in John 3 could be written by a non-eye witness. (raised eyebrow) The Letters of Paul were written before the Gospels, yet do not mention the activities of Jesus in His lifetime. There are actually more than four Gospels. |

cloudstar:Bro, I never said there's any difference. You should know I was talking of the universe when I used cosmos. And did God create Himself? He's His own creator? If you don't deem it weird that the God you don't see has no creator because a book tells you so how insane do you look to doubt that which you are in and do feel to have no creator even when science, the study of nature, suggests the opposite? The Bible doesn't use the word "Before the beginning". So, if you are looking for the word that says - Before the beginning, God existed and then in the beginning, He created everything; you won't find that as the author didn't indicate that....they only indicate that He has a beginning and it won't be proper to add to their words, which if we did would clearly oppose their idea of God having a beginning. In the same way, I wouldn't look at a painting in a museum and expect to see the painter birth-date on his painting to prove he existed before he painted the picture or accuse him of being a baby when he painted it. I can't argue from silence. This post is as dumb as any post can ever be. Are you comparing a mere painting with the universe? We are talking about the creation of time and space which is possible for the painter to exist before his art since he himself is within space. Time and space started when the universe started and there can't be any time and space before the universe, and that gives the impossibility of the existence of your God before the universe. However, if you continue to read the passage down to verse 3 of John chapter one, it states it quite clearly that God created everythingbut the verse one states he was in the beginning and not before the beginning showing it clearly that the author didn't even understand Cosmology to begin with. |
cloudstar:The same way you aver that God is the first cause is the same way I aver that the cosmos is its first cause. Argue that the cosmos must have a cause and I'll also argue that God must a cause. However you interpret it, it's pretty simple - Before the "beginning" - there was God. Before matter and energy; something higher, some metaphysical preceded everything else - the 1st un-caused cause. So tell me where in the Bible that says "before the beginning was God" |
