done I am almost through with my Quota

I will pay only when I check the badwidth. Anyway nobody Gurantees the continuity of badwidth. It is definately not a sacm as Startec is one of the three ISP's who bidded and one ISp licnse for Abuja

Other being suburban who has already started wifi hotspots in some parts of Abuja. But any service is as good as the backbone which is any way horrible in Nigeria

Startec in Abuja has the best offer going - 10,000 Installation and 7500 pm for 64/96 or 12500 96/128 Three months in adavnce. How do they do it Wi- Max. and the equipment is thereirs so no buying of equipment. If u do not continue for 2 or months they will come and take the equipment.

To make a peer to peer connection same rules apply as for wired cionnection,

Simplest is to go to wireless connection click on properties go to TCIP IP and' set foolowing adress

IP - 192.168.10.1 for first second will be 192.168.10.2 etc
Gatway 192.168.10.1 ( hopefully if this is your intenet computer you can even share the inetnet connection)

I just moved into life camp Abuja. And trying to find out best solution to go on-line Currently on Dailup

I have two options

1. Directon PC Vsat - 12. Dia with 2 watt transmitter

Installation 115,000 Naira and a
night owl package of (300/1000 KBPS) 15750 per month ( 3 months to be paid up front)- Available 8 pm to 6 Am and whole weekends
Direct PC claims a ratio of 5 so it makes 256 KBPS download ( i Hope)

2. Startech Wimax
10,000 Account opening fee ( non refundable)
12750 PM for 96/128 KBPS Always on - to be paid 3 Months up front


I use net mainly for Internet banking/surfing and torrents and would like to use it for Goggle talk and Skype


I would love to have higher Badwidth ( offered by DOPC) but afraid of their ping times - Satelite lag for telephony /VOIP

Worried about Startecs Service reliability /uptime and actual lag


What do you suggest which one I should Go for
