Kewtt: Your last paragraph suggests you weren't destined to achieve anything in the. first place. Felicity001: Please everyone your advise is needed here.
The dealer that sold the MB I bought didn't inform me it was conversation even for the 3 times I went b4 closing the deal. The only mistake I did was not going with a mechanic but must one always go with a mechanic to inspect a car especially a tokunbo b4 buying? Now, I've not even started using the car it's already giving issues.
I've done registration already. I've done change of break pad and stabilizer linkage and have also bought some parts to replace the bad once, e.g... Side mirror and water can for the radiator. I've spent almost 100k already.
What do I do now please, the dealer asked me to bring the car tomorow to give to his AC technician, he claims not to have any knowledge of conversion about the car.
What advise do you have for this. situation. weyreypey: Nope no need. You didn't inform us when you were about to throw away your millions of naira. Ordinary 50k max for inspection will have prevented this hullabaloo. Diportivo would have opened your eyes, gazzuzz would have gone on an M16 espionage to warn you, nakoks would have written it off and even gotten you a better offer, but no you went solo ... Now you're going to keep moving from ojekunle to trinity to aspamda looking for part sellers... Kazeems will open office on your head... You will sweat like a monkey trapped in a bakery oven.... Ol'boy you're going to suffer on this apparition you bought. Mechanics will know you by first name basis.... reputable mechs will evade you consistently leaving you with those almajiri kazeems....who don't have a specific shop... who will fix serpentine belt and brakes will stop working.... Brake pads and fuel pump will cease to work.... If you're not careful it may catch fire with you inside.... In short say what say what anything can happen.... If you have not been checking your blood pressure please get a monitor and keep in the car....what you bought will require it. |

TMKsouth: "We want to sign deals."
This is what South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa expects from his seven-day West Africa tour, beginning in Nigeria on Tuesday.
The president landed in Abuja on Tuesday evening to a warm reception.
Accompanied by various ministers, Ramaphosa said he wanted to see the opening up of trade and investment on the continent.
We want those countries investing in South Africa so it is not a one-way process where South African companies invest in their countries," the president added as he departed Johannesburg.
On this trip, he will visit Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Senegal.
"It is a mixed journey; political, diplomatic, economic, trade and this is going to be beneficial to our country all around," Ramaphosa said.
At the same time, his ministers are expected to conclude five new agreements and memoranda of understanding with the Nigerian government.
"We want to increase confidence in our own companies operating in those countries. We have a number of companies operating in Nigeria and Ghana and we want to see more and more of that happening in Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire," Ramaphosa said.
West Africa
In Cote d'Ívoire, he will be hosted by President Alassane Dramane Ouattara for a state visit and will further address the Africa Investment Forum.
Ramaphosa added he wanted to breed life into the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement that allows for free flow of goods and services across the continent.
He added travel too could be eased on the continent
Ramaphosa will then travel to Accra, Ghana, where he will meet President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and participate in a number of high-level talks.
The trip will be concluded in Dakar, Senegal, where he will take part in the Dakar Peace and Security Forum and other high-level meetings.
"We are going on this epic journe.y to the heart of the continent."

gstream: EasyBuy is a company that enables you buy phones & pay in installments.
How it works You approach any mobile phone dealer store, where any of their representative are stationed, make available a certain deposit for any phone of your choice, provide some references, make available a government ID & your Bank Debit card details & in less than 10mins, you have a new phone, ready to "follow" you home.
How Repayment happens The EasyBuy security plugin is downloaded to your new phone. This enables you make each secure payments for monthly installments & probably can be used to Lock your phone remotely once, you default in remitting in any month.
Pros. Enables you own a new phone of your choice, without out breaking the bank.
CONS. Which is where I am going. The Security plugin seems to do more than just secure payments and remote lock thing.
Why did I say this?. I took an Infinix Hot10i on Easybuy, in the second week, I can't listen properly to WhatsApp audios, other times, the speakers keeps blaring for no reason...while no one anywhere near it. I am not owning them at the moment & I can't find pictures people send via WhatsApp & Facebook to me in the phone.
I was mandated to take it to CarlCare. At CarlCare, I was told the phone is okay. I tried asking the customer service lady @ CarlCare a thing about EasyBuy Phones; remember it's not the same company. She replied that, "Bros, I don't know if EasyBuy Phones usually have issues o",but with a dry smiles which shows she was hiding something. & She kept looking at me suspiciously.. Truth is, a colleague bought on Easybuy too & the phone just wouldn't work again, without any hardware broken physically.
Is it just a coincidence that his phone has issues after full payment(4months plan) or EasyBuy Phones actually do have issues?. Because I can't afford to slave to pay almost 80k for a phone of 59,100 naira & loose my phone after full instalment has been paid.
Please share your experien.ce guys. I think it's hi time lexusgs430 started a credit facility for his legacy phones. |

Kingreign kindly share your experience.... kingreign: 1990 Toyota Carina ii 2.0 GLi 4sp auto lift back.
When i returned from India, I decided to buy a small lift back which I could use to move around. I got myself a brown/gold coloured 1990 model Toyota carina ii 2.0 GLi for 450k, brown seats and brown dashboard, heated side mirrors, heated seats, I had to construct the A/C as there was none. It had alloy wheels and looked good it was a German market carina ii. I bought it, from a woman and took it home. Next day, I started the engine and it roared to life. Pushed the lever to R, the car surged backwards with speed, I slammed the brakes only to hear a groaning sound. Pushed to D, nothing R, nothing. I packed the car there. I travelled again and came back after 2months. I inspected the shafts and noticed balls on the tyre area (that time I was a novice with capital "L" who couldn't handle a spanner). I called a mechanic who checked it and told me shaft is bad, I have to replace both shafts as they were fake elcheapo eltawain shaft. I parted with 12K that day, he came with beljium shaft and installed them. He told me to shift R and D to check if they're working, I depressed the brakes and did that, on releasing the brakes, the flexible brake line on the driver's front tyre bursted. Spilling contents. 3k went out for brake pipes again.
2weeks later, I went to install a CD system LG 1 DIN with pioneer speakers and was feeling funky. I went to Suleja to flex my old babe. coming back, I started hearing a strange noise on the rear driver side tyre. I got to mechanic workshop, tie rod broke. No more steering control tyres were wobbling. 8K to purchase new tie rods, 2k for rubber booths, and 3K for one of the multilink arm on the rear (the previous arm was bent and the previous owner used dunlop slippers cut to act as rubber boot hence the noise and uneven driving). I was back on the road again. I went to APO to flex with my guys, as per I don show Naija na, night came I was returning home, I couldn't see my front. Hmmm. I managed to get home. Called my mechanic. He said reflectors in Headlamp is faded, we should get another one. 11k for one tokunbo 7k brand new taiwan, I picked 2 tokunbo for 22k. He installed it, it was out of alignment. He adjusted it but it was only slightly brighter than the previous units, he called a re-wire who installed a relay, the headlamp worked at last, I was glad. Hehehehe Night movement started again, lol! Only for rains to come and I discovered no wipers, they were wornout and producing noise. 1,200 naira a pair in front and 300naira for long piece on the rear. Nothing's gonna stop me from 'wakaing'. I discovered the motor started drinking fuel. Chai, called my mecho again, he removed sparkplugs, installed new ones 8K (2k a piece X 4), removed airfilter and bought another one 1500, then bought injector CRC cleaner, cleaned the intake butterfly valves. Poured some in the Vacuum line. Started the car to idle a while, then change oil, 3k oil filter 1k total 4K. Economy improved a bit. But still high consumption. Came back to him, he checked and discovered the Airflowmeter is bad. 15K for belgium part. Finally, it worked. My power windows acts as if they've got a mind of their own when rains come, they may not go up. But I had to manage them, I also found the wires on the power moonroof which was detached (the moonroof was sealed with mechanic's trademark black gum which I peeled off). Suddenly, my steering became stiff. I called my mecho, he said pump is failed. Bought tokumbo pump 7k it worked, I went to AMAC. On the road going, it became stiff again. I called him, he said 'when coming home branch my workshop'. On my way home I was doing 140km/hr on berger-nicon junction expressway, suddenly I slowed down to negotiate katampe bridge, steering locked, slammed the brakes, car swerved off the road, tipped over the bridge and landed face down into the deep gutter below. All the contents in the boot fell inside the passenger cabin. I had seatbelt so i wasn't hurt, I climbed down and called my mechanic. He went to find a hiab truck they said 70k to lift the damn car out of the gutter and place it on the road side. I said NO. I quarrelled with the mechanic, I told him I am no more working with him (beef mode active). Luckily, a blue hiab of FRSC was passing by, I waved him to stop, he helped me freely, I was glad. Someone came, with a knife, cut my rear seatbelt and used it as a tow rope tied to his car and towed mine to another mechanic shop. Headlamp broken, grille broken, front driver side suspension broken, brake cable cut, bumper broken, windscreen developed a line from top to bottom, fenders bent, transaxle broken, steering bad. Over 100K to replace them, new strut bought and yet it failed a week later due to a leak thus giving out the pressurized fluid, I opted for tokumbo struts 12k. I was foolishly determined and no one's gonna let me down. I got on the way from AMAC and drove to go see my babe in Bida poly smiley I never knew it was gonna be another epic wrong move filled the tank up and fired, on highspeed in excess of 160km/hr on kubwa-zuba expressway. Damn speed was sweet I was dusting all other cars on the road when suddenly I hit a pothole (Suleja, Lapai, to Bida was pothole infested then, I don't know of now) suddenly, my suspension gave way again, but I was not deterred, I must love up. Suddenly, a pre-facelift Honda Accord EOD (2003-2005) swept past, this act bruised my ego, in trying to catch up, the driver suddenly stepped on his brake and a petrol truck was coming ahead, I hit another pothole, my brakepad flew out, this gave me no room to maneuver, I rear ended that car and it was totaled. The boot, to the rear passenger was deformed badly. My front end again went bad. Another crack on my new windscreen, broken headlamp, broken grille, bumper. Suddenly another lorry from behind side swiped my Right side, a piece of sharp metal from the truck sank into my car's rear quarter slicing the metallic body work all thru the rear door area. the alhaji came out and looked at his car, looked at mine, and told me to go repair mine, he'll fix his. shocked smiley I was shocked and happy. I continued my mumu journey to Bida poly, stopped at the gate, called the babe, she say she was busy, can't attend to me. chai!
Ego bruised again, I kuku enter my kabu kabu jalopy, manage enter zuba, police check point. Them men in black wanted to start their story again. I vex tell them say make dem leave me, I need to go rest joor. Out of pity one of them met others and they let me go with my jalopy. Got to my old mechanic, he said, 'you don come again with your wahala'? I no fit answer. We fixed the car, 80K went from my pocket. Toks bumper (blue colour), toks struts, toks headlamps, toks grille, brake lines, pads, calipers, booster, disc and master (remember my brake pad fell off, I had to ride the car like that). welding and panelbeating the rear quarter and door area sliced thru. Immediately I fixed it, I put it up for sale, some dudes came, paid 300k cash, took it and travelled lol, wahala removed finally When they got to their destination, they started calling me. Fear no gree let me pick I finally summoned courage to pick after many missed calls from them only for them to tell me I don't know what I sold to them for such a cheap amount. If only I knew, I won't had sold it so cheaply. Mumu people
Mehn, because of that car I learn mechanic by force, and all the chukuwdi, nonso and spareparts dealers for kubwa and zuba come know me as customer.

my 2002 W203 C200 kompressor, red top engine, fires and when you start it and idles almost immediately.
When you are on the road, it takes a while to pick up, when it eventually picks, anytime you slow down or apply brake, to pick up again takes time, and those behind you are horning for you.
I have just changed my plugs. Should. I change the throttle sensor? Sounds like the throttle sensor. But scan and post the codes first. If you restart does it move smoothly? |

Kelvin30286063: You are right about the heartlessness of people towards accident victims. This reminds me of when I was in school many years ago. My friend and I wanted to go and submit an IT form at a company in the next town. He had a bike so we decided to go on his bike since it was just less than 20 minutes away. Long story short, we had an accident on our way and he fell really hard with his head hitting the road. He was bleeding seriously and already unconscious. I was seriously injured too but I was conscious so I started trying the little resuscitation I know. With little luck, he jutted back to life and started groaning in pain. At that point, I started flagging down cars and buses. All they did was just slow down and look at us and went their way. We were there for 15 minutes and I started contemplating carrying him on my back and trekking all the way back into town. But I was hurt too so that won't be easy. Luckily for me, a man stopped. He gave us a ride back to town and dropped him at the general hospital. While the nurses were rushing my friend in, the man left. I've not seen him since then but that little encounter taught me some lessons. Years later when I started buying my own cars, I don't just drive past accident victims. I've helped two and I no die. I even helped a bike man with a broken leg that they almost attacked me when I took him home cos they thought I was the one that hit him with my car. Thank God h.e was conscious. Don't blame them.
