You can submit and save the DS-160 form and it will still be valid till the time of your appointment. However, you can also still fill another DS-160 form up to 72 hours to your appointment date. But you will need to update your profile on the CGI page to the new application ID on your new DS-160 form. Failure to that will have consequence of you losing your appointment.

You see the way things are changing every now and then with this visa processing stuff. Don't waste time pls. However you have opportunity to reschedule another appointment if you are not ok with d present one. Note you just have one more chance to reschedule if u ve not.

You can book an interview date without submitting the DS160 form. After you book appointment you can submit the Ds160 form. But make sure the Ds160 does not stay more than a month please since the date d date for d interview is still far away can I submit my ds160 few weeks to d interview?..I heard is good to submit few weeks to the interview .........

Yes you can. You will need your visa payment number and application ID as generated on your DS-160.

The form times out after 20 minutes according to the website, but I observed it times out way before that. So my advice is time yourself and save whatever you have filled every 5 mins.

Other things you can do is clear the cookies or temp files on your browser. Hope you know your passwords sha o.
Then if you get to any part in the form you don't have fine details ready. Save and exit, get the details and login again to continue.

As usual, I will always advocate for you to do it yourself. If you feel you will have to use an agent anytime, it's another option available to you.

The issues you listed above are due to a spotty network connection and missing the captcha image. Try a different internet connection or use same one in a different location. If the captcha image is not clear, refresh it to get another challenge.

It is not compulsory you finish filing the DS160 in 1 hour.

If DS160 stresses you so much, then you won't be able to handle looking or waiting for dates

Except the agent promised next day interview date, I don't think you would have been able to do any differently if you started the application in February. Thats the interview date window you would also get yourself.

As I have expressed reservations about agents, just make sure the DS160 is your information, and not something put together to make you look good as they do. And it will be cross referenced with the student visa you are considering. People get refused student visa also
