beginning with King George I, Germans have been sitting on the English throne since 1714. in 1917, King George V, changed the family German name from "House of Saxe Coburg and Gotha" to the English sounding "House of Windsor" bc the English people who were fighting the first world war against Germans were uncomfortable with their King having German names. (translate: they hated to be reminded that their King is a German , or worse still, that a German is ruling them )question: which intelligent african leader looked the Belgian King in the face and told him the truth about the evils of colonialism? hint: they killed him ![]() |

Feraz:ask your supplier to change your weed answer 2. kakistomoboplutocracy: a new word coined by former Nigerian MP, Patrick Obaigbahon (spelling?) to express his exasperation over the state of the nigerian nation with respect to governance. It comprises of three words; Kakistocracy; government by the worst persons in the community Mobocracy; government by the mob plutocracy; government by the rich unfortunately, oxford university is yet to add it to the english lexicon, and nigeria has refused to approve a dictionary for nigerian english ![]() |

Williamso: harrysterol:okay, the question was not understood. perhaps i didnt put it rightly. . . .so here is it. . when christ made that statement, the province of Judea, where christ lived, was under roman occupation/rule, the people paid taxes to the roman govt which they didnt like, so my question was; who was the Roman Emperor at that time? Hint: Bc Julius Caesar was popular in roman history, most of the early roman emperors of the Julio-Claudian dynasty took the name Caesar one way or the other. at some point the name Caesar became synonymous with Emperor. infact from there came the russian word for king--> Czar answer: Emperor Tiberius (14-37 AD) full official name: Tiberius Caesar Divi Augusti Filius Augustus. born as Tiberius Claudius Nero, his mother divorced his father in order to marry the Emperor Caesar Augustus, thus making him the step son of the Emperor Augustus, and Augustus had no son, or heir, so he became the heir and from there became the 2nd Emperor of Rome ![]() #ilovethisthread |
Every serious lady ready for marriage will go after his kind... Everywhere he is, the serious ones are around him and stalking him out... He has that luxury of choosing just ONE.yea, after they've slept with all sorts of men, when they start getting old and ugly they start looking for a naive man to pounce on. . . . nonsense ![]() word of advice. . . . get a good girlfriend while you are in school, marry her when you graduate. if you start waiting for when you are "settled" the wolves in sheep clothing will pounce on you |
Feraz:wrong. Julius Caesar was never an emperor. he was a dictator for life. the first emperor of rome was his grand nephew Octavius, whom the roman senate gave the title Augustus, and he adopted his grand Uncle's name Caesar, thus became known as Caesar Augustus but even Caesar Augustus wasn't the emperor in power when christ made the statement "give unto Caesar. . . . .. " ![]() |
GEJ is more relaxed, and that is understandable, he is the president talking to a secretary of state. but buhari is a candidate, a.k.a private citizen. and so kerry is more relaxed here compared to the photo with GEJ where kerry is kind of reverent. even at that, buhari is relaxed too. question! how does this affect the price of beans? ![]() |
the romans invented concrete. the word candidate came from ancient roman republic, where men who ran for office wore white togas, called candidus, at a public forum, as a symbol of purity and trust. the month of july was named in honor of roman dictator Julius Caesar. when his grand nephew Augustus became emperor, he named the following month after himself, August, after he took the title Augustus from the roman senate QUESTION!!!!!!!! 1. which emperor was christ refering to when he said "give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's" 2. what is Kakistomoboplutocracy ![]() |

Nogen: ![]() anyways, this is a smart move, they are trying to sell a moderate moslem buhari to the western world, so the USA and powers that be will not be uncomfortable with a moslem leader in africa's biggest black nation. . . .. Having said that, i hope APC will not disintegrate like CPC when they loose his election, bc we need a strong opposition party to make this democracy work. ![]() |
Deltagiant: ![]() come this guy, dem suppose carry police come arrest you for spreading wrong information with potentially fatal consequences ![]() |
SeverusSnape:and under this dictatorship there was no bok haram, no MEND, no OPC, no Massb, no religious riots, no ethnic riots, bakassi remained in nigeria's territory, dollar exchanged for 22naira (or thereabouts) . . . yes there was no freedom, yes there was still corruption, yes the universities and education generally was a mess, but compared to what we had since 1999, sometimes it seems some people need some level of dictatorship. . . . however, in the long run, democracy is better. . . . ![]() |

crownprince102:what an open endorsement of violence. when i say Buhari's supporters love violence people will chew me raw. . . . but i'll keep saying it ![]() after the post election violence in 2011 where scores of innocent citizens were killed, i was shocked to see Buhari's supporters blaming "GEJ's INEC" for the killings, no effort to condemn the killers, they were more interested in Buhari's political ambition. No human feelings at all for those that have been killed. and before una begin shout tribalist, the Buhari supporters i was arguing with were 8 igbos, 1 yoruba and 1 fulani. |
Change2015:i dont speak for the PDP or the President. . . . as per the charge of tribalist . . . . well . . . well . . . you can call me a tribalist, but truth is, somebody has to love the igbos. i've noticed that everybody hates igbos (including up to 30% of igbos hating igbos) the only time nigerians unite is in soccer and anti-igbo issues. so someone has to love the igbos, and i step forward to do that. however, i do that without hating others. yes, i like yorubas and hausas too, but i love igbos more. it's that simple |

teejah03:which grace? if you are a xtian read your bible well, you can't live in sin and grace will abound. nigeria is swimming in sin. " for righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people" ____proverbs 14:34 ![]() |
Change2015:i'm not sure buhari is a violent man, but i maintain what i said, his supporters are overly aggressive and frequently violent. not just in the north; but even his igbo supporters are the most annoying, his hausa supporters are the most violent, his yoruba supporters are the most noisemaking, his middlebelt supporters, and i have encountered very few of them, they are more calm but firm. his south south supporters reflect his hausa supporters in the potential for violence all in all they are hell bent on idolizing him and their body language spells doom if things dont go their way, and you and I know that he will loose this election . . . . . . . . . . . . . .by hook or by crook ![]() |
MichaelSokoto:hmmmn, igbo haters have arrived . . non of the candidates is igbo, non of the vice presidential candidates is igbo, yet somehow, igbo is being dragged into this mess meanwhile, i know who will win the election. ask me and amadioha will use your head for toilet ![]() |
