before y'all star condemning the hospitals, just know that they can only function with resources available. Your resident goes abroad for treatment, nothing concern am. and you all wanted it that way.

If we have leaders with common sense, they would set up a committee of health experts (to do something that only needs common sense but well this is the zoo) to ensure that this doesnt repEAT. look into the matter, the causes (wetin snake de do inside house), education of the masses on how to recognize snake bite and how to go for treatment immediately, and more importantly equip hospitals with the necessary medications and anti-venoms in emergencies. Not to mention good roads and ambulances to take these victims to the hospitals, as well as a civilized citizenry that would give chance when they hear ambulance with siren coming.

It would not cost more than 10b naira to start all these in one state. But a good emergency service system will go a long way with improving a society. If we had good ambulance services, they would have driven on good roads with good cars and well trained EMS staff who would give this woman the anti-snake venom eve before she gets to the hospitals and all doctors would need to do would be to observe her.

but what do I know?
