Karleb: I used to get emotional just like him because truth is bitter.
A passion that cannot put food on your table in this present Nigeria is useless.
Just imagine Lawyers now earning 30k even corps members earn more than that.
Doctors are now getting underpaid.
I seriously feel like punching somebody! You sound very incoherent and you keep contradicting your stance.....where exactly do you stand?? |

Onnasucs1: well sorry for calling it useless. I know how great the course is. But Nigeria has made it look "useless." Imagine the only jobs for biochemistry graduates are teaching jobs in secondary schools. Okay, I understand you..... the Nigerian factor has affected every aspect of the system here, nothing is working!! In saner climes, Biochemists are actively involved in the research, medical, industrial and enforcement sectors. |

Onnasucs1: This is the same thing I tell people. Agriculture isn't saturated. Most of the few people who study agriculture were moved there against their choice. So many may end of not using the certificate. Only a few really want to do agriculture which makes them hot cakes to agricultural firms.
Why struggle for admission for a useless course like biochemistry when you can get admission to study agriculture with a jamb score as low as 170 and you'll not even have competition when job hunting. Hello, Biochemistry isn't useless!!! even the medicine and surgery you guys are busy masturbating over can't do without Biochemistry. Tell me that the course is not marketable and the the employment opportunities in the field here in NIGERIA is almost non existent (due to the inability of employees to put specialization and qualifications in the forefront of their employment requirements) and I'll agree with you but calling it useless is a no no for me. I always advise those that are passionate about the field of Biochemistry to go for further studies, specialize in an area of Biochemistry like Forensic science, Industrial Biochemistry, Toxicological Biochemistry, Molecular Biochemistry, etc, and try to remain there(outside the country) after your studies cause they know the importance and relevance of these courses we term "useless" here in Nigeria. Meanwhile can anyone here tell me any course in Nigeria that doesn't have a large chunk of unemployed people?? including your darling Medicine where the level of underemployment is skyrocketing every day. Just pray for the Grace of God!! Nigeria is the problem!!! |

Foreign Affairs › Re: United States Electoral College Explained by Preshob(m): 10:47am On Nov 06, 2020 |
byrron: All northern states will have a minimum of 50 electoral college members while the other regions will have 10, 15 and 18 electoral college member's which will give the northern states the ability to decide who becomes the president of Nigeria.
The electoral college is an undemocratic antiquated system were the votes of the people doesn’t elect the president but choses those that goes on to elect the president.
Just imagine what quota system has done to Nigeria then imagine what having an electoral college will be like in Nigeria.[/i] You're exaggerating right 50 what?? no state in America even have up to 50 electoral college votes including the big states like New York, California, Texas etc. Yes most northern states will have a higher electoral voters but it won't be that much and it can be countered if a candidate is able to win a greater number of states |
Foreign Affairs › Re: United States Electoral College Explained by Preshob(m): 10:43am On Nov 06, 2020 |
agabusta: Kano with its large population will still have more electors than other states. Yes but they'll also be limited by a certain number of electoral votes which a candidate can make up for from other states(depending on his win ratio) not the astronomical figures they keep churning out every election year |
Foreign Affairs › Re: United States Electoral College Explained by Preshob(m): 10:39am On Nov 06, 2020 |
dollarsplenty: Electoral College is anti democracy, it suppresses the people's will.
Note: For those mentioning me out of context, if few electors have more power than the real population, then what is the essence of people's power? When 538 electors have more power than over 300million people.
Before you answer, think about the real definition of democracy. It doesn't, judging from the fact that states with a higher population gets higher electoral voters and if a candidate polls the highest number of votes in a particular state then he/she wins the electoral votes for that state......so it more or less shows the choice of the people although it's more of a winner takes all stuff |

because there are alot of Msc bch Graduate, some are still trying to further to Dr so as to become a lecturer. But how many of them can the academic field take in? We're in a big mess here....reason I advise anybody planning to further outside the shores of Nigeria to remain there...there's nothing for Biochemists here. But on a lighter note, Bagging an MSC in Forensic science which is very rare here in Nigeria gives one an upper edge |

Blackking98: Another problem is we hardly come out in the south to vote. So this electoral reform so, if electronic voting is allowed and we can use online voting instead of quing up in person, the north will be in trouble. Serious trouble, that's why they don't want it. I keep telling them that the figures the north keep churning out in every election are hugely fabricated |
Foreign Affairs › Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Results Live Updates: Minutes By Minutes Updates by Preshob(m): 1:58pm On Nov 04, 2020 |
Goke7: Brilliant submission, the 2/3 thing is still best for our electoral system And does the 2/3 stuff actually work in our electoral system?? abi what is obtainable is the person with the highest number of votes emerging the winner?? You see how nobody is even interested in the popular votes in this USA elections because it can easily be manipulated but everybody is focused on the Electoral college votes cause it shows the real choice of the electorates with little or no irregularities. But in Nigeria, although it's enshrined in the constitution that the candidates must win 2/3 states in the election to be declared the winner, nobody is really interested in that.....everybody keeps waiting for the hugely manipulated Kano, Kaduna and Katsina votes |
Foreign Affairs › Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Results Live Updates: Minutes By Minutes Updates by Preshob(m): 1:47pm On Nov 04, 2020 |
PDSI: Electoral college in US is based on the number of electors from each states and the most populated States in US have the highest share of electors.California has 55 Wyoming has just 3. In Nigeria Kano will be like California and Bayelsa will be like Wyoming
Coming down to Nigeria the electoral college will still favour the big states with higher population Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Oyo, andj Rivers because this States currently have the highest number of house of rep members in on Nigeria. I didn't use Senate because all state have 3 each for rep Kano and Lagos, have 24 seats each, Kaduna 16 katsina 15...
If we adopt this the north will continue to win without coming to campaign in south sef... But as it is they still know they need one of the southern region. Then how many states do they have in the North to ensure they garner enough electoral college votes?? Before such a policy comes into play, there'll definitely be a true census to ascertain the correct population of people residing in each states. I know you're quite aware that the numbers most northern states keep churning out in every election is a hoax and fabricated figures. when we're ready for electoral reforms then all these things will be put into consideration. |

OgaTheTop2: Nigeria is not matured for that. why do you say so Sir?? that's the only way to tame the northern oligarchs.....this current practice of winning by popular votes isn't helping us at all cause the largely illiterate and uneducated north are the ones legit electing our presidents every election year |
