What kind of lack of professionalism on the part of the Police Force is that? If indeed he is on drug overdose, why can't they flush out the remnant of the drug from his system and resuscitate him to face the music? |

kayvinci: My msc weighted average is 62, thanks for the link I guess that's what you call PhD grade? If so, you should be fine depending on your bachelor's degree and GRE score. |

kayvinci: Many thanks for the information information, I have one journal publication already and five others are awaiting publication. I seem to have a dearth of information. Any information or useful threads here on nairaland will be greatly appreciated. My discipline is economics What's your CGPA? If your publications are in high-impact journals, you can look at some UK universities, most have rolling admission policies and you can benefit from Commonwealth scholarship award (search for it online). But you will have to search for US universities that have strong economics programs and reach out to their faculty members for funding opportunities and their willingness to mentor/supervise your PhD study. I'm in Engineering and don't know much about schools with economics programs, that's your responsibility to take, you have to search on google and get contacts (that's part of research). kayvinci: My results are not outstanding, tired of this shit hole You'll still have a chance in some US and Canadian universities, just try to engage in some research activities and maybe submit articles for publishing. Just avoid coming to Finland, If you must travel out of Nigeria... Just a brotherly advice for you. I have been there (though I have a good experience due to over smartness), but I see what people pass through, but most of them won't tell you what they experience in order not to discourage you. |

kayvinci: Hello guys, recently came across this interesting thread. I have a masters degree in economics and I am interested in a PhD programme. What do I need to do as regards, I will like to connect with people working towards a PhD admission. I will honestly advise you to consider other better countries such as US, Canada, Norway, and Australia if you're going to study for a Ph.D. I hope you have good academic standing. |

Clearly, most Nigerians just claim to practise Christianity without understanding a jack about it . Read 1Chorintians 7:12 (in fact, the entire chapter).Nigerians practise more of syncretism than Christianity. |

ExpressBooking: so what's your advice? You have to prove that you have been engaged in activities related to your intended course of study. Maybe you have been using flight simulation apps or you have done some internships or some related things. You must be able to prove that you have combined the passion for piloting with the businesses you've been doing. And don't say you quit a business because it was not thriving, what happens to your tenacity or you're just a dilettante? Find a better reason-e.g., you got better business ideas to work on. |

ExpressBooking: I was denied today at Lagos. Transcript goes thus;
Me: Good morning VO: (didn't reply) Asks for passport and i-20 Me: Passed on requested docs VO: Why M-1 visa Me: Its vocational training (Aircraft Pilot) VO: What do you do? Me: Am the managing director xyz firm and we do business VO: What do you sell? Me: Office and Home furnitures we import and clear too VO: Cuts in...Why study aircraft pilot now? Me: I don't have sponsorship and program is quite expensive, so it took me time to be financially prepared for this since I am financing myself VO:What do you want to do with the training? Me: I want to work as an ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) VO: You import cars too? Me: I used to but business wasn't favourable so I quit VO: Reaches for and hands me a blue paper and you know the rest.
Note: I went for B1/B2 Last year June and was denied. then I wrote car importation and sales as major business. I waited for one year before enrolling for a flight training school so that this car dealer thing won't pop up, but it still did. I guess that reason for denial. I am going to wait for a month and try again. My Pilot program starts on October 1st You sound like a professional quitter, that's what came to the VO's mind. You'll quit your current business again when things go a little down, and likely quit your prospective study when you land in US. Nothing personal, just an observation that you should look into. |

Romance › Re: 5 Qualities You Should Consider Minor In Marriage! by presiade(m): 6:37am On Aug 04, 2018 |
daewoorazer: 5 qualities you should consider minor in marriage!
1. Big behind:
This is the root of all adultery in the future. Seriously? What is wrong with young men and moderation in recent times? The most awkward is most young guys do these for social security, that they’d be applauded by their choice of woman.
As perfect as our young beauties with big behind are, they are not to be married for short term goals. If you do, you’d regret it in the nearest decade, be warned!
2. Big bosoms
Beauties with big bosoms rock but bro if you don’t have love beyond this quality, mid and old age may mean chaos as you may be forced into adultery!
3. Hair:
Yes! You read that well!
“Oh, she has the hair of a mammywater” thoughts will land you in disappointment pretty soon. Women go bald, are you with me? Of a truth, they are even the carriers of baldness genetically, it’s just more pronounced in men.
4. Skin:
Her skin dey give your body ogbonge spasms now abi. No wahala! Her skin is like mirror and you can see yourself, continue!
No condition is permanent, you may be rich and can take care of her today but who knows tomorrow? Change is the only constant thing, that skin will stop reflecting your image and wrinkles will dawn, will you stop loving her now?
5. Nails:
If you have ever seen what’s left of a whitlow ridden finger, you’d learn to appreciate love within!
Visit below for more:

P1P2: Please i am new in this forum. I guess i found this awesome page a liitle bit late but all the same i thank God am here. I was denied student visa on the 18th of this month(July) and i was almost discouraged until i found a post, that encouraged me not to give up and i can try as many times as i want. I am so happy to be part of this forum, God bless you all who have one way or the other contributed in making this forum a sucess.
Please here is my transcript for on the 18th of July 2018. Time: 6.45am Venue: Lagos
VO: Good morning Me: good morning sir VO: where are you heading to: Me: West Texas A&M university in Texas, canyon to be precised VO: OK, so what are you going there for Me: am going there for a master's degree in Business administration. VO: Why do you want to study that course Me: because i have been working with a multinational company for the past 5years now and i felt is time for me to enhance my career by going for master's degree in order for me to occupy a managerial position in my company and also become a CEO in the long run which is one of my career goals. VO: are you married? me: no sir VO: who is your sponsor? Me: my god father and i also have my own personal fund What does he do: he is an operation/logistics manager with a company. the next thing i saw was the blue paper. VO: sorry you are not qualified, go through the paper and you will see the reasons. Me: i was shocked and almost tearing.
when i got outside i went through the blue paper and its says, applicant was not able to demonstrate his intended activities in the united state and for which would be consistent with the classification of the nonimmgrant visa for which he applied for.......
Secondly ,applicant does not have a strong tie to his home country blablabla........
P.S; i am married but barely a year and the marriage crashed, and its in the court for divorce. I don't have my marriage certificate, its with my wife and that's the reason i chose to pick single while i was filing the visa application online.
secondly, i own a property ( a house), but the issue is that i dont have c of o, i only have the deed of assignment of the property and some other documents like, receipt of payment(for buying the house) ownership transfer blablabla. but dont have c of o and survey plan in my name. though i am planning to do a survey for the house in my name so that i can present this at the embassy.
Another one is that, when i spoke to my lawyer he said he can get me another original marriage certificate from the court since the first one is with my wife and she refused to release it.
Please house help me out, what do you guys advise, should i get the marriage certificate and apply again as a married person or i should use my property as home time. and then kindly go through my transcript and advise where necessary. i will be very grateful if i am able to get loads of good advises and comments! God bless our hussles.
P.S, i am no longer working, left the company last week Monday. Please put this in consideration while advising. God bless you guys! Going back to say you're married is tantamount to providing contradicting/inconsistent information, especially if you tender your marriage certificate and it indicates that you've been married before your first interview. That would amount to providing false information, which is risky. I would suggest you go by the way of your landed property to prove your tie to Nigeria. Regardless of the title document you have, even if it's the purchase receipt only, that would do. And hope you're lucky. |

Dennis3D: I love to write with facts and figures and more practical. Like I said before I just went through my phone archive now to bring out a client from Nairaland here too that have a similar shape of land. I was able to design a Duplex on it and as we speak am currently doing the construction too in Gbagada Lagos state on Pile.
See the image below... That's my point- land utility would be low, as you have in your design. He intends to build a main building and a boys-quarters but such land would not permit that. |

megacontrol: Cost - they often come cheaper if properly negotiated Value - you will likely get better value per sqm Location Uniqueness - rare opportunity to erect a non-conventional structure Availability - your view has a big "IF". On the other hand, if it is a prime/location of choice and not many plots available, then sure you may have to grab what is available provided it works for you.
This irregularly shaped plot is exactly some client/architect's dream. Like someone already mentioned, a good architect will turn this around into a dream structure. for example you can tuck in a pool or playground into that smaller corner. Alright thank you for your insight. Without doubt you would put your money down for such plot located in a fast-developing neighborhood. I would tell him. |

Dennis3D: Now that's why you need a professional and experienced architect to design something that would change your view over the land. As far as am concerned. What am seeing can enter Duplex with very good car park spaces and recreational areas.
I have worked on more irregular shaped land and have done well in them.
The records are there to see. My view is that if a regular-shaped plot is available, why go with that odd one? sincerely, would you put your money on that land?? Just questions that I would like answered. |

ThatHistoryGuy: It depends on what he wants to use it for and also how busy the road is. He intends to use it for residential purpose. It's located off the main road. So would you say it's ok? It's the geometry of the plot that I personally don't like. |

What Ngige was trying to pass across is that Fayose is good for nothing than a cook. So they should bring him back on Saturday to cook for their celebration/victory. But of course, the other party would try to twist it in their favor. It's part of politics. Yoruba people would say ''Ela loro, asoro yan'ro lopa elenpe akoko/isaju''. |
