Family / Re: How Do We Reduce Thoughts Of/attempts At Suicide? by Pretty4ril: 7:19pm On Jul 11, 2013
Depression is one of the causes of this suicidal idea. When one feels he or she is a failure in life especially getting to a certain age still confussed about what ur vision is in life. In this country where there are so many jobless graduates with several qualification yet no job.It makes people feel bad.

All d same there is no reason why anyone shld take his or her life. Always trust in God,go to a counselor, talk to a trusted friend.

scrubber:

na u make the kenwood burn, beans is unlike tomato or pepper. you have to allow the beans to soak very well before blending so as to give the blender less stress. if not you go buy blender tire o. kenwood is a good product, unless you bought it from SHOPRAG

Guess u don't know how to give a good contribution here. If there is anything like shoprag I've never come across it. Maybe is in ur own world.Oh! I forgot to tell u we 're done with this.

I will check d coffee grinder. Thanks again my people.
Food / Re: Which Blender Type Is Durable And Can Grind Beans. by Pretty4ril: 8:31am On Jun 29, 2013
Originalsly: No matter what brand blender you buy the results would be the same. Not any and everything blenders were made to blend.Beans are too hard and for that reason people soak them ...to make them soft. If you don't want to then try just a small amount at a time.If not I suggest you buy a coffee grinder which is like a small blender but made to grind/blend bean stuff. If you insist on using a blender then buy a commercial blender which is like heavy duty and can run for longer periods at a time. Cost? I guess like 3 times more than a regular blender.

Thanks dear but I can't go for commercial type since I only use it for d family only. Waoh so bulky, Can u keep that in ur kitchen?

uzoo: @Pretty4rill

Forget about buying a blender or any kitchen gadgets from the states,we are on a different power voltage ,( USA is 110 while UK,NIGERIA IS 220 to 240 volts). It wont work here unless connected to a special adapter.

There is always fake of everything ,that is why you have to be careful when buying,i got most of my kitchen gadgets from the UK because of this and almost everything i have there is KENWOOD brand.

You can try and order from the UK instead of the United states.

Thnx a lot Uzoo for understanding I wish I can know d price of UK direct

Honestly this is so annoying and bad.It hurts to see how corruption is eaten deeper and deeper into this country each and everyday. People don't use their conscience anymore in d name of money. They 're so corrupt that they don't care about how people feel. They charge me as much as 15k a month just a flat. We need help in this country.

Afia Efere ( White soup) serve 4

This light Efik soup is traditionally cooked without oil using goatmeat or chicken in which case, they are called "afia efere ebot" or "afia efere unen" respectively. Fresh fish can also be used.

I kg / 2 lb fresh goatmeat
I medium smoked fish (washed)
250g / 8oz fresh okro (sliced)
100g/4oz ground crayfish
250g / 8oz pounded yam
25g / I oz chopped fresh chillies
I uyayakpod ( tetrapleura tetraptera)
1ltr/2 pint stock or water
salt to taste

Wash and cut the meat into even size pieces. Season with salt and boil for 30 minutes or until soft and tender. Add the stock, washed fish, chopped chillies, okro and ground crayfish. Break the uyayak pod into small pieces and add to the pot.

Cover and cook for 15 minutes. Mould the pounded yam into small rounds and drop into the soup to slightly thicken. Add seasoning and serve with pounded yam.

Food / Re: How To Make Soya Bean Meal For Your Baby (with Pictures) by Pretty4ril: 10:53am On Jun 26, 2013
PrettyCindy: Ingredients:

Soya beans seeds
Unripe plantain
Crayfish
Peanut

PROCEDURE:

1) Using a completely dried pot or frying pan, stir fry the soya beans till they start turning slightly brown (make sure you pick away dirts, stones and bad bean seeds from the bulk before frying). Spread on a tray to cool.

2) Fry your peanuts or buy ready made one from the market.
3) Cut the peeled unripe plaintain into very thin flakes and bake with your oven till crispy but not burnt. Or buy already fried unripe plantain (kpekere).

4) Tie each ingredient seperatly.

5) If you have a heavy duty blender or miller, loosen the grinder and pass the soya beans through once to seperate the skin from the beans. Then carefully blow away the skin.

6) Then grind every thing together including the crayfish. Grind till smooth.

7) Spread out on a tray to cool before storing in containers.

Add to already prepared pap or anyother cereal when feeding your baby.

Cindy thanks a lot hope I will try this one day

amaka1: RECIPE:
rice
shrip
chicken
mixveg
knor
butter
seasoning(curry, salt, pepper, thyme)

1) boil chicken with seasoning
2) in a non stick pot, melt butter while melting the butter add your seasoning, thyme and curry(the indian kind not the jamo kind), then pour in rice(you have to eye the amount to make sure the butter is enough, you dont want it to be too much just enough kinda stir fry the rice)
3)strain the liquid from the chicken that you boiled and add water to it, then pour it into the pot with the rice, let the rice cook,
4)fry your shrimp and cut the chiken into little strips
5) stirfry your mix vegies,
6) just before your rice is done cooking pour your chicken, shrip and mix vegies
7) let it simmer, you can opt to let it finish cooking in the oven,
