The Miss Africa 2016 beauty pageant set to hold on 26th November,2016 at the CICC came alive in the streets of Calabar as the beautiful contestants joined the executive governor of Cross River State Sen.Prof.Ben Ayade and his dear wife to flag off the 2nd carnival dry run for 2016. The governor and the contestants showcased their dancing skills by doing the popular 'shoki' dance.

While others are making preparations for the Christmas festive season which is drawing near, this young lady took her "hustle" to the streets by stealing from a shopping mall. She was however unfortunate as she was caught right in the very act. She was disgraced and embarrassed by the shop workers who caught her as they searched her thoroughly -unveiling all the stolen items she hid in her panties both front and back (how creatively pathetic)...

She was later arrested by security operatives working at the mall. Here are screenshots gotten from the viral video trending online.

Bevy of beauties from 30 African countries yesterday arrived Calabar Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar to participate in the maiden edition of Miss African Beauty Pageant. With "Climate Change" as the theme, the pageant is being organized by the Cross River State Government to draw global attention to issues of climate change and sundry related environmental issues.

Addressing newsmen shortly on arrival from Morocco, the state Governor, Professor Ben Ayade who was also arriving from the just concluded United Nations conference of parties COP 22 in Marrakech, Morocco, noted that the pageant is a new addition to the state’s vast tourism offerings.

According to the governor, "The pageant is a warm embrace to Africa and more importantly, to create a platform to discuss the fate of Africans."

Ayade further maintained that “the Miss Africa Beauty Pageant is a platform for the expression of intellectuality, capacity, unity, strength, vitality and the energy Africa represents.”

The governor also disclosed that the showpiece was to create an avenue “to celebrate the great splendor and beauty that God has given to Africa in terms of beauty, resilient in character and natural resources,” adding that “God has over endowed Africa and for that we have been a bit over indulged. So, this is a wake up call for us to begin to galvanize and maximally harness these great potentials for the benefit and wellbeing of our people.”

A man of about 60 years, an indigene of Amaekpu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area is currently being paraded unclad by youths and women of the community as punishment for raping and killing a woman of same community.

According to a report by Abia Facts, it was gathered that the man mocked the lady for being a virgin while raping her in the farm, before he allegedly killed her. He then informed the lady's friend to tell the family where they can find the body, it was the lady that raised the alarm.
