In my opinion, our leaders are myopic.

For crying out loud," if you give a child a fish you have feed him for once but if you teach this child how to fish you have feed him for life."

I think our leaders have decided to keep the people poor so that they can always throw crumbs at them and it will seams like they have given them hope.

That 500 billion naira should be channel into productivity. Let this government just support productivity and innovation. Then watch this country rise to it's glory.

My advise as a concerned citizen of the FRN.
This government should strategies and itemized the issues facing Nigeria then pick one and follow it to the later. E.g insecurities - if your priority is to fight it, then fight it with all your might so that in the next 8 years we shouldn't be talking about insecurities anymore. The the next administration will pick another issue and face that... Then in the next 30 years we should be on our path to greatness

Bros why the insulthuh??
I simply stated my thoughts on this issue and the next second you are insulting. It's not civilized bro.

Anyway there is no way an intruder will come into your land and carryout this heneous crime and go scot free. They is a strong government/political undertoon protecting these miscreant.

And even the community youths and indigenous people are just watching their community degrade into a shadow of itself.

You don't make a statement by destroying your home and causing hardship on your people. It's all wrong in every sense

My opinion may differ because we are not talking about just anything but sexual chastity. These days where folks don't mind to tell in public that they are having illicit sex; it's in our faces everyday, in the media, in blogs and whatnot, having someone come out to say they are upholding the bands of chastity and going exclusive with their married partner is worth talking about more and celebrated. I wouldn't shut down such voices.
Moral decadence has made some abnormal things to seems normal these days. Morality has been thrown to the dogs.
Being sexually chaste is supposed to be a normal thing. Keeping your virginity till marriage is the ideal thing to do. In a morally upright society.

Celebrating virginity before marriagehuh?? Bros I don't understand.

Trust me there are other conversations that are worth talking about.
Virginity is supposed to be private and not an issue of public discussion.

*Don't get me wrong o. I stand and support being chaste and marriage bed undefiled.
CelebritiesRe: Actress Oge Aneke Who Married As A Virgin Gives Birth To Twins 6 Years After by Primusinterpares(m): 6:48am On Jul 08, 2023
emmyN:
People talk about their sexual promiscuity every now and then in public and it is viewed as normal. Folks that are determined to tow the path of chastity should also be allowed to talk about it. It doesn't take anything from you!
It takes everything from you bro. When you share everything about you online it's as good as being naked in public. It makes you vulnerable.

That people talk about their lives in public doesn't make it right. It has all shades of wrong in it.

Do you know the power of privacy?

Most businesses are still in business today because they have kept their formulation private. Not everything is meant for public consumption.

DeLaRue:
I wish running an economyt was that simple.

1. Many owners of the selected local companies will also divert the funds for their personal use. Are Nigerians outside government different from those in government.

2. Just throwing free money at businesses sounds good on paper, but it rarely works out well. Like everything acquired without sweat, it will mostly end up misspent. Ever wondered why most lottery winners end up poor.

3. Using zones to select which companies should receive N500m each because you want to achieve a fair spread is a recipe for failure.

4. Some companies may need the N500m but they may not need more than a few additional staff, may be as little as 15 or less. Therefore, the suggestion that each company will create 'at least 200 jobs' is not well founded.

5. The companies will allegedly produce goods that we can export to other countries. Like what exactly.

If it was that easy to produce things in Nigeria cheaper than China, India, Vietnam and at least up to 40 other countries where things can be produced cheaper and exported, Nigeria will already be a big exporter.

Truth is, outside of natural resources and some agricultural products, there are very few things that Nigeria can manufacture that the rest of the world will buy. Ours will simply be too expensive with no guarantee of quality. I guess we can pick up some minor sales here and there in West Africa, but that's mostly it.

We need to focus first on producing for our own internal market.
Trust me it's that simple. I have learnt how to breakdown complex things and make it simple.

1. Of course the greed tendency will come in when we will see some persons wanna out smart the government and divert the funds... But that's where the issues of policy and implementation comes in. Government make policy and impliment it to the later regardless.
In developed nations you think there are no people that wants to rip others off? The difference is that they know that if they commit any fraudulent act they will go in for it. Regardless of who they know. Hence they tred with caution.

2. You ain't giving it as father Christmas or some quota system. It's actually like a loan /grant to those that needs it. Trust me there are innovative ideas that needs some few fundings to kick start. And some existing businesses that needs some funds to go larger scale.

3. On the issue of zone, it's high time we explore our differences as a nation. Each zone should be known for something. These companies will be to explore the opportunities in these our geopolitical zones.

4. We are looking at direct and indirect jobs. If a company decides to explore the opportunities in mining and processing of solid minerals like tin, colbat they will need the services of machine operators, engineers to service these machines, transporters, explorers, admin and HR etc. Can you now see the ripple effect of industrialization in job creation and value addedhuh?

5. Bros, Nigeria is too blessed. We can actually explore the area of agriculture and collaborate with food companies and start exporting these food items. For instance, we can grow wheat in commercial quantities and process these into various food items like flour, pasta, noodles, etc which can be exported.

We can do all of these things and more as a nation of the government start thinking in this direction.

We might have some issues here and there as we start to build this things but then that's where the Japa gains will come in as those that left will be hungry to come back home with all their wealth of knowledge. Then together we will move this country forward.

Natural resources and agriculture are good but You didn't even mention our super power HUMAN RESOURCES.- It's a gold mine on it's own that we are yet to explore as a nation.

Imagine the intelligence of Nigerians in synchronization with good governence - Am yet to see a nation that can stand us in this regard.

As for focusing on producing for our market is a subtle way of reducing our potential.
