They are nothing but liability to Nigeria. FG should digitize operations of all government parastatals and reduce the workforce by half. Very true. |

airsaylongcome: I know right! It does get crazy when you get multiple calls from these loan apps. I'm also not a fan of True Caller (TC) either. The only difference between TC and the loan sharks is that TC doesn’t give out loans. But the way they harvest peoples phone numbers from their subscribers phone address book is, in my opinion, very unethical Really? Tell me more about true caller. Thanks |

airsaylongcome: Yeah I totally support your position about these loan sharks over stepping their bounds when they reach out to contacts. I totally hate it but what can we do in this country? We as citizens sef we lack awareness about data privacy. Many people are happy to drop their contacts (email/phone number) anywhere without hesitation. For me the first time they(loan sharks) call me they only get to speak with me for 10 seconds. After that, I block the number for life. it can be crazy. You block today they change number. It's because of them loan app I subscribed to true caller premium. I hate it so much. I had a friend that borrowed and paid back but these people keep sending messages to me spoiling this person. |

Or are you referring to their under hand tactics of blackmailing the loanee to their contacts? I am not supporting defaulters of loan. I am simply saying that they should be regulated. Job security doesn't exist anywhere. As long as the company is in business they will definitely need your input.
My advise is he should go for the 500k offer.
Also, there are some experience you will have na job go dey find you. As a general manager in a pharmacitical company? He nor fit look for job again. Except he is just a figure head. At that position it's higher level to another. |

KunleAkingbadeh: You did well but don't be too carried away. Indians are the worst sets of guys to work with. They are overtly emotional individuals with a slave labour kind of mentality.
They are riding us in this country because of massive unemployment coupled with the fact that Nigeria has a poor labour policy.
They dislike anything like Labour Union or solidarity within the workforce.
His sudden change in attitude is imminently laden. These animals don't change like that, the man has other things up his sleeves. Don't be caught unawares. Recall that the company producing Lacasera sacked all his employees in one single day!
All will be well
They are good ones too. Part of the things I know today are things an Indian expert taught me. They are good ones amongst them and if you are good at what you do, they will respect you. Trust me. Black Nigerians in position of authority are worst especially the ones from the Western part of Nigeria. |

Workch: Today I got a job offer with a salary of 350k and an official car just because I know a strong person in the company. I use to work for another company at Ajah, I go to the office once in a week from thr mainland and it's not easy. My salary is 200k and I don't really like the work environment, I am tired of the job and this new job is not far from my house, its in Ikeja. My girlfriend whom I have known since 2011 when I was doing my I.T (WE dated then broke up, she came back last year January) connected me with one of her friends that I use to know back then. This her friend is married to the nephew of the CEO of this company and she works there herself.
She got my CV, 3 months ago, waited for a vacancy and made sure that it was not advertised. See, the interview, na only me dey there, the job was kept for me. It was not even an interview, it was a conversation and they were just telling me about the company, no stress. That's the power of knowing somebody, this will not be possible i didn't get a strong referral.
This morning I got my appointment letter. I asked them to give me 1 month to tidy up my account in this current office. Try and build connections, know somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody. Ask for referrals, it's going to make the whole job hunt easier.
I forgot to ask, date girls that have substance. Don't date girl wey be liability I celebrate with you on your winnings. But then let's call a spade spade. Do you really merit the job? Are you coming to add value to the company? Let's be sincere here. This is not different from nepotism. Same thing politicians do that we complain. Job seekers should not seek only big salaries and benefits. They should most importantly seek to add value to the company. I celebrate with you all the same |

Natural2Heal: You talk as if good jobs are in abundance in Nigeria. What magic do you expect from a sales executive to increase sales by 50% if the company's products are not moving well in the markets. If distributors and wholesalers complain very low demand or low patronage of a company's products in their warehouse, will the sales executive force them to still buy?
The prayer of most sales rep is that their company's products should be well accepted by buyers in the markets. Or else, sorry is your case. Yes there are good jobs in Nigeria trust me when i say this. Most times job seekers doesn't possess there relevant skills for some roles. Companies what's someone that will add value to their system not someone to come and dow what they have been doing hitherto. That's why companies wants that guy that has worked in other company because they believe you will bring in that new idea to help them solve problems systematically and efficiently. And also yes. That's the job of a sales executive. To be able to market the company's products. Come up with plans, ideas, methodologies, strategies in selling the products. There are sales men doing +100% in sales. Its more about strategy |

R1234: Here i qm 8 years on my sales job im already frustrated at it but iv learnt alot on quiting or tge right exit plan , a colleague of mine left like 4 yrs back he ia doing fine with a better pay but it was not same for a friend of mine we met on a job 2013, i got him a sales executive fmcg after seeing him working in the factory i had known him in my area b4 , d guy was so good the indian boss liked him along the line on d job he got another job by luck with recare , van to himself , sort of more better than where we both were he comes around to thank me all the time with gifts , like a year on his job ,na so one yeye chemical company startup call him he was lured with around 350k, d guy resign without even contacting any of his friends , d company does carwash chemical , they used him 4 months pay him like2 times , he was unable to meet the target set cos no enough marketing or campaign had been done on dose product , he was later arrested, by d company , i had to give him tfare d last time he trekked from abule egba to yaba to come check me i felt so bad , on d whole situation , i had not heard from him for a long time , at times jumping up n down cos of the bait salary of 500k or 300k is alll lies and fake, its better most times stay put at dat 80k or 100k job or 120k job dat is filled up of many things at least dem never pursue u than pursuing urself up and down for no just reason. He was in penury the last i check it ended badly. All you people keep missing the most important thing which is value. And am not talking about doing masters o. With Value comes money. Certifications seams better but beyond this always try to be a problem solver that way you can never run out of Job. If your friend is that good at what he does he would have easily gotten another job. You can't tell me you are a sales person that was able to increase sales by 50% and you dey tell me say this same person can't secure another job with a bigger company easily. Baba talk another thing. With that profile and connection he should be able to secure another job easily. Moving from company to company is a sure way to gain exposure and add value and increase salary. |

Kaycee54321: 100K by 8 months = 800K 350K by 8 months = 2.8M
You, on your 100K, will need to work for more than one year and six months without touching your salary before you can bridge the gap in earnings. While you're working for this period, your colleague (who I assume is wise enough to have resigned at that point) could get a 450K job (using his previous earning of 350K as leverage to bargain with a new firm) - while you're here 'thanking God' for saving you and simultaneously mocking your colleague online. My brother you have said it all. Add value and move up. For me there is nothing like job security. You get into and organisation add value and move up. Don't sit down one place in the name of job security. Most times as you move, you add more value, experience and exposure as well as increased renumeration. I recently had a offer of 500k but i turned it down because it would tie me down and it seams more of a routine job. |

Future Impossible Tense. Its not like i am a pessimist on this o. But talking from experience. So i needed to renew my passport. I learnt that i can actually do the payment and application forms online. Na so i follow o. I got my appointment date and was like... Wao. This is so good to be true... Appointment date came and I went to their festac office. Omor... Na there wahala start. You need to see corruption in person at that office. Those of us that went through the online route were treated like trash. While those that applied through one oga or the other were quickly attended to. I met one of the those agents and on our discussion she blauntly told me that the servicom route will take up to six months to get my passport. That i should go through the proxy agent as its fast and reliable that also the proxy agent are all working for one Oga or the other. Ended up spending the whole day there with nothing to show. I never still do the capturing till date. Imagine a system where the people that are supposed to work for us are the ones working against the system. How country wan take better ? |
