Why are their regular masses not found in private sectors both home and abroad breaking records, doing great things like Igbos and Yorubas and the rest of southern Nigeria regular masses are doing? Look at what Igbos, yorubas and the rest of southern Nigerians created out of content creation industry, movies and music induries, tech industries, etc. I rarely see northerners in tech space! I honestly dont know why southern Nigerian politicians are this f#olish. We should be demanding to quit Nigeria because obviously, the northern region is a complete problem. With the way southerners work, it means we even commit to tax more than Northerners. This means southern regular masses sweat out, pay tax heavily, so both our tax sweat and natural resources are used to fund the life style of northern elites. We have weak politicians. This madness must end in our parent time, my generation will fight against this madness. It must be merit driven society or everyone go your separate way. u know politics is not merit driven, especially in Nigeria where it is usually heavily rigged. I wont count that as a thing. Everything is rigged, from population to local govt, etc. The foundation was designed by the British. I really want Northerners to compete in Merit driven societies like in Europe or in their Saudi and break global records in medicine, science, tech, marine, etc.

But why arent northerners found many in stuff like this? Like what is really the problem? U rarely will find them making such news even in developed countries, u rarely will find them in tech startups, educational news such as these are usually dominated by southern Nigeria, mainly Igbos and yorubas. It is even crazy that an ethnic group like Igbos who lost everything in civil war, started afresh, extremely maginalized, still rose to this level in human development, this beats my imagination for an ethnic group from the northern part of Nigeria to not become very competitive after ruling and dominating the entire politics of this country. I really think if u remove north from Nigeria, the country may really grow for real judging from verse human development they have attained in the field of merit and competency.

I made a post about something like this and I got a lot of backlash. I think most Nigerians are actually very poor and have accepted low life as a norm.

I like the last part. Nigeria does not lack resources she has enough, she has means of making mad money from her various reosurces, but the county is heavily corrupt. Nigeria does not need to heavy tax her poor citizens. Nigeria has money but mismanagement and extreme corruption are the problem.

This our tax to gdp is less than the African average, most of the rich do not pay taxes, most people working in the informal sector do not pay taxes, and our country is reliant on oil, and other resources, whose prices we cannot control or set, therefore if we wanted to raise our oil prcies to bring in more revenue for the country...as Ghana did for its cocoa one time...buyers will go to cheaper alternatives...as Ghana found out.

At the end of the day, nations grow by their leadership making hard choices (before you start, tinubu is not making hard choices, regardless of what his propaganda kompanie would have you think). We need revenue urgently for a host of things...including funding our budget, funding stuff like railways, and infrastructure. Yet we do not collect enough revenuye, waste the litte we collect on corruption and stealing...which by the way the people you want us to vote for were also involved in, and are likely to continue when they displace tinubu in 2027, and we do not have a working industrial sector because somehow you guys beilieve that a company where 80% of the customers are paying below production price can somehow miraculously perfrom at top level.

Anyway, the World bank is right. Revenue is shit. VAT cannot fund our budget nor can all the tiny taxes collected every day that people come and tell me about.
