NNS Ambe is in my opinion the most popular warship in Nigeria. I grew up living near NNS Pathfinder and I heard of NNS Ambe a lot.

Nope. We had two LSTs in the 1970s, '80s and '90s. They were crucial to our operations in Liberia and Sierra Leone in the 1990s. They were NNS Ambe and NNS Ofiom. I wrote about them in the first 6 posts. However, they are no longer operational.

Is NNS Ambe still under repairs? And I think the Charles De Gaulle you mentioned is the only Aircraft Carrier the French Navy has.

I want us to talk about job creation,i want us to talk about business ideas,i have seen so many people with modest savings (₦3-₦5million) wanting to jet out of Nigeria at all cost,i have also seen people wasted such money and time yet they can't reach their dreamland.

I am not against anyone traveling out to seek greener pastures or on holiday,what i want us to examine critically is this attitude of wasting fortunes,money that is enough to start life with.

I read through a post of a guy with ₦3million savings not too long and I read all sorts of advise,but the one's that moved me most are those people who keep dishing out small scale business ideas,they did not only dish out ideas,they gave practical examples and knowledge,those ideas and knowledge prompt me to ask myself this question that why don't we want to start Small?
why don't we stay back and build a life instead of running around all the time?

I wanted to write a counter thread on this earlier on but it slipped my mind.

Nigerians (especially on Nairaland and Twitter) are in the habit of believing they know what's best for the next person and it's a really disgusting attitude. What works for you, may not work for the next person. If a person has made up his/her mind to leave the country, you should let them be with their decision it's purely their choice and you're in no position to tell them to back off or even insult them for their choice.

Many of you who go ranting on several threads forget that part of what contributes to the country's GDP is "Diaspora Remittance". Now ask yourself how will this money come in, when you keep trying to discourage people from leaving the country.

Some people relocate so that they can enjoy a working system which they can't get here, and the idea of discouraging people with talks of racism is silly, now tell me what's the difference between racism, and the tribalism/religious intolerance that occurs in the country. Racism has never taken people's live in mass outside Nigeria but religious intolerance/tribalism has caused so many Nigerians there lives.

Also, some people come with their idea of you being a second class citizen but that talk is also "hog wash". We all witnessed several Nigerians elected into various positions in the last U.S elections and some others appointed into various offices, now ask yourself are these policy makers second class citizens in the United States?

The system in these countries are built to reward people for their hard work and dedication unlike here where we practice nepotism aka "man-know-man" even if the person is unqualified.

Fellow Country Men, if you have the chance to leave the country or you wish to leave the country, and you have the resources please do. Stop listening to some "Dangote wanna be", who wants to stay back and try their luck or hope for the best.
If you want to stay back, there is no problem but stop coercing others and trying to shove your decision down their throat.

SA has the best universities in Africa, from the University of Cape Town (which is the best on the continent) to the University of Witswaterand to Stellenbosch University, KwaZulu-Natal University, and the University of Johannesburg. SA has one of the best university education system in the world.
