Yenefer:A coup can happen in Nigeria but the actors involved in carrying it out must not allow it look like an ethnic cleansing, otherwise they will repeat the same mistakes of the 1966 coup (it may end up in a war or total separation). |
HellVictorinho:No doubt and there also millions of successful people from other African nations in the Diaspora. |
johnmartus:Those were animals especially Olisa Metuh I can only wish their fate for Lai when he leaves office. |
Fear of the inevitable is already setting in. For the Chief of Army Staff to be afraid of a coup, it means that he knows that the present regime isn't performing and a lot of Nigerians are angry. It may not be a coup but a revolution, the build up is slow but when it stretches beyond its elastic limit, it will be very bloody for all of them that have tasted power and there will be no Oluomo rock to protect them when it is happening. |
Nigeria's inevitable doom keeps coming closer each passing day, instead of the people in power to find solutions to already existing problems they are finding joy in creating new ones. |
Is this is a campaign to paint him white in the midst of black colored men? Osinbajo no doubt has vision but has been subdued by the powers in the presidency. I watched his actions, when the C in C was away on his usual tourist trips, and he looked like someone who would make a difference but in order to be considered for the numero uno position, he needs to show working under the current regime. |
Lai never fails to disappoint. Whoever expects much from, this pathetic liar must believe that unicorns existed. As far the Internet is concerned, the government can't control social media unless they are ready to disable the Internet in the country and cripple financial institutions, and a host of other business that make use of it. "You can kill a revolutionary but you can't kill the revolution" - Thoman Isidore Sankara ❤ |
Yenefer:And she is up and running . |
helinues:Irony: The Deaf President ![]() |
I never expected an article below par from Bulama, kudos. "Buhari must lead or leave. Period" |
He has a really impressive resume. I may not like the recent conduct of the intelligence agency under him but if there is one thing I have understood over the years in the intelligence world is that orders can't be flaunted and morality must be set aside, so I will believe he is only following the orders of his direct superior. |
After this clout chasing and Umahi fails to recognise this set of urchins, who have made it their top priority to fight a war that is not theirs, then he has failed his supporters and the general public. |
Guestlander:That's what many of them, who claim to know fail to understand. America food reserves that can last it during a 10-year war and you expect them to experience shortage because of a pandemic. |
plaindealer:Here comes Ijele, the one who has travelled the world over. So, what does your little mind think it has been exposed to, that a person in the 21st century would need to move around like "a shepherd wandering about in search of his lost sheep" that can't be found on the Internet or you feel this is the 1500s? |
Rossntti:Well done, Oga Analyst. You are quick to foresee the downfall of another nation (light years ahead of yours) but also swift as an eagle to shut another person, foreseeing the doom of your own country. I can see that Nigeria is not also on the brink of a war (with the rise of agitations and talks of marginalization), and the economy is performing well not to talk of how expertly the spread of the Covid-19 has been handled. For you to call Covid-19, a scam of a virus then you should be quick to join people of your level at Yaba Left and stop meddling in things you have little or no power to effect change. |
plaindealer:That's the issue in Nigeria, the middle class and the elite thinks life begins and ends with them. The mere fact you can afford a 50-kg bag of Rice doesn't mean someone from the lower class can but because you want to push a narrative that all is well (when you clearly know it is not), you avoid the plague that the lower class pass through and go on "dancing the David dance". Caveat: We may be experiencing situations worse than this in the nearest future (due to insurgency and lack of accessibility to farmlands), if eventually that period comes I hope you would maintain the same vigour. |
Praxis758:Nigeria has neither the most educated or most civilised folks in Africa. Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa and Kenya lead Nigeria in terms of literacy rate per population. I don't think, we should deceive ourselves that, we are civilised, we are only used to "chest beating" to boost our lost ego on the African continent. |
Lies we tell ourselves to console our failure. From Timbuktu to Porto-Novo, From Johannesburg to Lusaka, From Kampala to Nairobi and From Yaounde to Kinshasa, the respect for the self-acclaimed "Giant of Africa" has dropped. The veil that covered the eyes of countries in Africa, that once looked up to Nigeria is starting to fade away, soon we would be living on our past glory. New giants that will take the lead are already in the making, and Africa will wait no more for Nigeria to spearhead its direction. |
Ganduje always making the news for scandals. For a moment I thought the news making the rounds was true, as that would have been a blow to the academics world but well, when it concerns "Gandollar", it is best you sit tight and wait for the last. |
The FG is always good at doing the wrong things and bad at doing the right things. The protesters never asked for much, they never asked good roads, steady electricity supply, or any other basic amenities, there request was a simple one "tell your security operatives not to kill us indiscriminately". This plea has not been granted and has lingered for days instead of addressing it, they choose to go on witch hunt of the protesters. Maybe we would finally burn the country to the ground since they can't let us live in peace, we have never asked for their support in anything we just want to live our lives peacefully, and not get killed for trying to survive in this jungle. |
Oh my, why does it feel like Jonathan is nursing an ambition to run for a second term? |
BabbanBura:I also thank my old man for this too, we have a large library at home and I spent much of my childhood and teenage years reading. |

Appleyard:Don't underestimate the MOSSAD every intelligence agency is powerful in their own way and have their goals but that doesn't mean you should underrate one. The MOSSAD is far deadlier than you can imagine. |
Yenefer:Well said Yennefer of Vengerberg, the average Nigerian is corrupt and is always on the look out for dubious and easy means to enrich themselves. |
omenka: I am certain this was culled from the Travails of Dino Melaye. |
Pearlyakin:I know that everyone can't agree with a persons' ideology as long as their lives aren't under threat. |
Pearlyakin:Oh my, this is the first time I have heard a Yoruba person say they don't want him. |
Pearlyakin: I thought everyone wanted him. |
Captaincee:You really understand geopolitics, all former French colonies are not allies to Nigeria. Their alignment with Nigeria is in the interest of France and with current situation in Nigeria I don't see us overcoming them soon. Maybe Turkey's new interest in the Sahel and mostly former colonies of France, and their cold war with France will reduce France influence in the Sahel. |
Olatomiwami: My guy stress not thine self, I am not Igbo and your unethical rants can't make me get a headache in anyway. |

When they just can't do without American weapons? Even the bones of Ariel Sharon would be disappointed with this blatant disservice to the US efforts towards Israel. Hear this: the major reason why Israel is still intact today as a nation is down to the unwavering support from the United States, so stop being ignorant of the fact.
