Parachoco:Half education is bad, that's why you're disgracing yourself without knowing it. The port I mentioned i.e. Oguta/Osemoto is only 18 miles to the Atlantic while those in Lagos and Akwa Ibom are 50 miles and 30 miles respectively. Ignorance is making you believe that ports in Lagos and Akwa Ibom were built on the coast while in reality, they're built inland. Stop hating my Yoruba friend. |
FSBoperator:You just wrote a lengthy nonsense that shows how shallow you are. Oseakwa and Oguta ports are only 18 nautical miles to the Atlantic while Lagos ports are over 50 nautical miles! Oseakwa and Oguta ports are naturally deep and requires very minimal dredging! If 50 to 60 miles of deep dredging didn't destroy flora and fauna, is it 18 miles that will? Why are you guys so ignorant and full of hate? |
Typing:Yoruba man, last time I checked, your region lies hundreds of miles away from SE. Secondly, we don't share any common boundary with you. So, where is all these trash coming from? Also, a river emptying directly into the ocean is not direct access to the again? Are you on colos? |
iammo:All these only exist in your head, and it's motivated by hate. Oseakwa and Oguta ports are naturally deeper than Lagos ports and also much shorter at only 18 nautical miles to the Atlantic compared to Lagos at over 50 nautical miles. Also, Eastern Nigeria is closer to Asia than Lagos, so you can see you're just fantasizing ![]() |
I expect Yorubas to be in support of this so that Igbos can free Lagos for them. But I'm surprised that some of them are hating again. As long as Igbos are forced to gather in Lagos because of the ports, the city will remain choked up. You know Igbos are aggressive capitalists, so you will always struggle against them and when you're outsmarted, it breeds envy and hate. |
id4sho:All the ports that were built in Nigeria were dredged. But some of those in the SE, particularly Oseakwa and Oguta in Anambra and Imo states respectively requires very minimal dredging because they're naturally deep. Even if they're to be dredged like others in Nigeria, they will cost less since it's only a mere 18 nautical miles to the Atlantic ocean which is far shorter than Lagos at 50 nautical miles, Onne 60 nautical miles and Ibaka 30 nautical miles. I hope you get the point now? |
Typing:Abia, Imo and Anambra States all have the potentials to build deep seaports that can berth large vessels comfortably! Before anyone decides to argue blindly, here are the facts on ground about ports in Nigeria and their positions: 1. Ibaka, Akwa Ibom state; 30 miles to Atlantic. 2. Lagos State; 50 miles to Atlantic. 3. P.H, Rivers State; 50 miles to Atlantic. 4. Onne, Rivers State; 60 miles to Atlantic. Now compare all these ports to those in SE: 1. Osemoto, Imo State; 25 miles to Atlantic. 2. Obuaku, Abia State; 18 miles to Atlantic. The most intriguing part is that the designated ports in Osemoto/Oseakwa axis offer the deepest natural ports as well as the closest to Atlantic, thereby making them potentially the most viable and easiest to maintain in Nigeria! Can you disprove any of the facts above? Or you just want to hate as usual? |
Typing:How old are you? Why not learn from others since you're ignorant? SE has some of the best access to the sea than most other regions in Nigeria! Abia, Imo and Anambra States have arguebly the best natural ports with close proximity to Atlantic ocean. Your parents thought you guys how to hate but you mustn't grow with it. |
Over the years, there has been arguments and politicization on the need to build viable seaports in the SE. However, it has become an urgent need now. With the removal of fuel subsidy, any region that is capable of landing fuel directly will become more viable than others. Fuel is cheapest in Lagos and most expensive in NE because of this factor. Also, Lagos needs to breath instead of the current suffocation there. Once there is a viable competition to Lagos, tension in that city will reduce. NC and NE will also benefit because it will make fuel and other imports cheaper in those regions. Abia, Imo and Anambra States all have the potentials to build deep seaports that can berth large vessels comfortably! 3. Any state in the SE that first builds a viable port will automatically become the richest in the region, but also one of the richest states in Nigeria. |
AuschwitzPrefec:This issue has been argued severally in the past and concluded. I wonder why they keep bringing it up again. Now to enlighten you, once Igbos become independent, regardless of whether the boundary ends with SE or greater Igboland, they would still have unfettered access to the ocean. The following points within the SE are closer to the Atlantic than several existing ports in Nigeria: 1. Azumini in Ukwa, Abia state. 2. Osemoto in Iheala, Anambra state. 3. Oguta in Imo State. These places mentioned above are closer to the Atlantic than ports in Lagos and P.H. The rivers that flow from there to the ocean are naturally deep enough all year round to berth ships, even very large containerized vessels! FYI, the Ibom deep sea port isn't located on the coast, but lies in the same latitude with the aforementioned ports in Igboland. So, if a deep sea port can be built in Ibom, why not those places? |
Jahwinaboy:Lol, I can bet you're a staunch Tinubu supporter. You see your life for outside ![]() Imagine borrowing from one loan app to pay another loan company, what a life ![]() You're even advising him to consider Lapo Lapo ![]() ![]() ![]() |
mrvitalis:Lol, they don't even understand why cities and villages in Igboland look beautiful while those in the SW appear rusty and dilapidated. They should also inquire why Dangote and BUA sells more cement in the East than their region. Igboland is receiving billions through remittances. It's about to spike now and would help our region to maintain cash flow when others are facing severe depression ![]() |
Strafudeen:Lol, you're not even aware Owerri airport has been the 4th busiest airport in Nigeria for several years now. You should rather be surprised that Owerri airport is fast closing the gap on P.H airport and would overtake it in no distant time. As for the ronu people, I pity them with their ignorance. We will help them to hype their anti-investment crusade. I thought it would take time before it starts manifesting in real terms but to my shock, real estate/property sector of the state has nosedived. Don't take my word for it, ask those involved in the sector and they will inform you. I personally ensured that my cousin, a nurse in the United States, didn't buy lands to build a mini estate in Lagos. I warned her that any land she buys in Lagos won't be safe. She took my advise and bought 5 plots in Owerri. Totalling 55 million. |
successmatters:That guy is suffering badly, forget all his noise on nairaland. They just exposed one of his partners called Lordguciv or whatever his moniker is. The guy is malnourished and lives in a batcher somewhere in the outskirts of Abuja but always rants about being rich. |
LordviccoDaGuru:See how you've only succeeded in disgracing yourself completely. Damn it, that guy really destroyed you kpata kpata ![]() |
MXrep:Lol, the bigots thought that Lagos has arrived and nothing can shake it again, so they started threatening other Nigerians. Unfortunately for them, nothing is static because human existence is dynamic in nature. If Warri people were told in the 1980's that their once economically vibrant city would today be reduced to a shanty town were Keke riders and POS operators are the big boys, they won't believe it. If Jos people were told that their city with nice climate and beautiful scenery where foreigners and Nigerians rush to, will today become almost forgotten, they will never believe it. Same will happen to Lagos if the bigots are not stopped. Already, the property sector in Lagos has been hit badly. If you doubt me, ask estate developers or property agents in Lagos. Airport traffic also shows that Abuja that is less than a quarter of population of Lagos has overtaken Lagos! Abuja that is far from reaching its peak! Compared to Lagos that is nearing saturation point. Then you will see that Lagos is already declining! They should continue with their ronu battle cry, body go soon tell them! |
1. If you are a business owner or salary earner, were you able to make savings in the last two months? 2. Do you still use generator, at least at night? 3. What percentage of your salary/income do you spend on transportation? 4. Based on the capital flight you're experiencing, do you think you will be able to pay your rent once due? 5. Are you and your family still eating 3 square meals? 6. Can you afford to pay for hospital bills should you or any family member fall sick now? 7. If you have children of school age, can you still comfortably pay their fees? These questions above have become very important for you to answer now. It will help us to really understand our situation in clear terms. N/B this current situation isn't going to get any better nationally rather, it can only get worse except something drastic happens. |
FOOTSOLDIER2:Awon sophisticated accommodators who are still stuck in 1759 ![]() |
Afamed:With clowns like this boy, how can this country ever get better? So, Sierra Leone is now too small to compare with Nigeria abi? Can you then compare Nigeria with India that is 10 times bigger? Is the charade INEC conducted anywhere close to elections in India? Why are these people like this for God's sake? Are these things programmed robots? |
Nigeria will soon become the first 4th world country. I mean, we are now the bottom barrel in everything. When countries like Malawi, Sierra Leone etc are now operating at a much higher standard then you will realize we are finished as a country. The ethnic bigots and religious fanatics still think it's a joke but they should continue. What I know is that when a country fails to evolve then it's destined to perish. |
Georgry:I read posts like this and cringe at the warped mindsets people like this guy have. You're proud to say that you profited from the misery of other Nigerians during the cashless period? Why would you charge extra 100 naira from people that patronized your mother's food stall? Are you aware that some others deployed their own POS at no extra charge? But typical of dark souls like you, you saw it as an opportunity to reap from the already suffering masses. That's why people like you don't see anything wrong in profiting from the misery of others. As long as you can get peanuts from this government, then the rest Nigerians can go to hell. What if I tell you that I made millions as profit in the last couple of months, even better than other months in the preceding years? Would I now attribute it to Tinubu? Would I now say, God has blessed me, let the rest Nigerians suffer to death? People like you are very selfish and wicked. |
The funny thing is that the corrupt politicians will get more wealthy and stockpile loots for their 10th generation while the foolish ethnic and religious bigots supporting them are left to suffer to death. If you supported Tinubu and APC or still support them, may you never survive this 'holocaust' |
Poverty rate was over 90% in the core North prior to subsidy removal. Soon, we will be talking about famine in northern Nigeria and not poverty rates anymore. At least, Southerners have direct remittances from abroad as their fallback position. To all the fools that kept saying "Tinubu government will favour me and my family" you have not seen anything yet, you will be so hungry yet have no money for food to eat. You will beg but nobody will help you! FYI, there is no hope for you. The situation currently is just at Genesis level, you may not even be alive when we get to Leviticus talk more of Revelation ![]() You wicked souls deserve to suffer and Charles Darwin's theory need to occur among you guys. |
To all those wicked and selfish people that made that prayer, how far? Did God answer your selfish prayer? Did the universe bring it to pass? Or is karma dealing with you decisively? See, you can't plant wickedness and reap joy! You can't invest in backwardness and expect to progress! You can't reject good and expect good to follow you! This is just the beginning!! My prayer is still with all Nigerians of good conscience who stood against this Pharoah. May God protect you in these perilous times and may this country never happen to you. Amen! Amin!! |
TemplarLandry:Lol, continue deceiving yourself. Even in the just concluded global forum in France, Tinubu was treated as an outcast. Everyone ignored him while other African presidents had a great time. The world knows that a criminal impostor is in charge in Nigeria. |
The rogue called Mahmoud is finished. I doubt any organization or respectable group will allow this criminal to ever associate with them. He will be ashamed to come out publicly now. What a disgrace, even INEC will have a lot of work to do for it to redeem its battered image. |
Herbiodun09:Chai, this is still morning. You and your parents will get sense by force. |
