Etrusen: the story of Nri is a cooked one to suit the likes of Igodomigodo and other African Empire of old. Igbo were the laziest in ancient history who didn't affect history but history affected them. The problem with your type is that you bask in your ignorance, but unfortunately for you, ignorance is not bliss. That Igbos did not practice monarchy which usually goes with territorial expansion and wars, doesn't mean they weren't relatively advanced. Igbos have always practiced a sophisticated form of democracy that places power within the masses through a system that recognized the Nzes and ozors as representatives of the people. This is akin to the modern day Senate with senators and house of reps. These form of democracy was localized within all the Igbo communities and that was partly why Igboland became very densely populated because there weren't much battles or fights since issues were often settled by the Nzes and Ozors. If Igbos practiced monarchy, the likes of Nri, Aro Confederacy, Igbo Eze etc. would have conquered the surrounding areas. Check the oldest excavations by archeologists of civilizations during the bronze and iron age, and tell me the places where they were found. Igbos knew that democracy was the best form of governance and that's why we were among the pioneers and we still practice it to this day. Haven't you heard of the popular saying of old that goes thus Igbo amaghi eze? I have added a screenshot. Please check it and cure your ignorance.

Lol, little wonder why Nigeria will never work. The more you look, the less you see. A government that came through propaganda, is sustained with propaganda and still making projections based on propaganda is an evil government.
This country is already breaking yet instead of the fool's to be doing things that would help to reverse it, they even keep worsening it.

The Omonile families of Lagos are so stupendously wealthy I asked you to show me just any example where lands/buildings was reclaimed after 99 years yet you can't. You claim it is happening everywhere yet you can't show even one example. I even gave you facts about the law here only for you to be talking about oniru and omonile whatever. Is the oniru or omonile greater than the law? I'm done with this argument because it's obvious you have lost it. |

Christistruth00: The Land title remains with the Original landowners. The State Government hold s Land only as a Trustee of the Original Owners. Omoniles in Lagos are reclaiming land from expired leaseholds almost daily.
That is what has kept the Lagos White Cap Yoruba Awori Chief's stupendously Wealthy. Imagine one family (Oniru) owning almost all the Land of Victoria Island ,which by the way was repossessed from the Federal government after the lease acquired by tbe British in the 1880s expired. another Family Aromire owns Isale Eko, Another family Owns Ikeja You see where you're making mistake. Foreigners are not legally permitted to own lands in Nigeria and that was why the Federal government could repossess it. Show me any example where lands bought by Nigerians were repossessed after 99 years. |

Christistruth00: You just confirmed you don't know Nigerian Land Law. You buy Land on a 99 year Leasehold.
On Lagos Island even the Land Purchased by the Colonial government and held by Federal Govt [Ikoyi] was repossessed after 99 years by the Onikoyi Royal family who were the Original landowners of Ikoyi.
Except the landowners let you renew the lease by paying for the land again.
Why do you think those with Abandoned properties in Port Harcourt after the War were unable to reclaim the properties through the Courts? The Rivers State Government(Owner ) revoked the claims on the land
The State Government only holds the Land in Trust for the Original landowners.
So you don't know that it is because of the 1978 land law that your Villagers have the right to chase Fulani herdsmen off land they have paid for and return the money? It is a leasehold which can be revoked!
How would you like it if Buhari looted the National Treasury and bought all of Imo State with a 99.5% discount and on Freehold for himself his tribe and his descendants sold by Gov Hope Uzodima after guaranteeing Uzsodima a 2nd term in Office ( Christ forbid) On leasehold as the original landowners you can revoke the Sale
Do you think that desperate greedy Governors wouldn't sell their half their States on Freehold for a 2nd term in Office. I hate blind argument. I repeat, once a land is sold, the buyer has no business with the seller again. The land now belongs to him and is totally irreversible except you want to buy it back and the new owner is willing to resell to you. However, after 99 years, the buyer will then apply to the state government for renewal, HE WILL NOT APPLY TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER!! So, tell me how you will repossess the lands you sold after 99 years? Politics › Re: The North, Not The Niger Delta Is The Source Of Nigeria's Oil by Proeast2: 6:25pm On Oct 07, 2020 |
Openbusiness: Let me solve your problem. Divide Nigeria, and let the 70% of the landmass (which you claim belongs to the North by your magical calculation) stand alone, and let's see if you can claim just 1 inch of ocean territory in the South, let's see whether any part of the North touches the ocean at any point. All these arguments, conflicts, tribalism, hate etc everything ENDS when Nigeria breaks.
That's why I have said and will continue to say, break up is the only solution to Nigeria's internal problems. The biggest problem this country has is the map below. Break it to pieces and watch magic happen. Those that want prosperity and development will get it. Those that don't want, will get what they want. Everyone will be ok when this map is "destroyed"! This map as it is can only continue to destroy the destiny of hundreds of millions of people. We don't belong together, no matter how you look at it. This is not a case of hate or tribalism.
Break up doesn't mean I hate this person or hate that person. This is not a matter of language, or even humanity. We all (well most of us) can speak maybe pidgin or English , can't we? So things like anguage etc is not even the issue. The issue is COMPATIBILITY. We are not compatible. What we have been doing as a geographic space for over 100 years now is trying to fit square pegs in round holes and triangular pegs in hexagonal holes. It didn't work then, it is not working now and it will never work. We have wasted the last century, imagine more than 100 years wasted for nothing.
Time is the most valuable resource in this entire world and we just threw away about 100 years. How many more centuries are we going to waste and how many tens of millions of people have to die by civil war again before we accept the truth. We don't have to kill ourselves before we separate. We can separate peacefully. This is what modern civilization is about. Humanity has gone past that way of barbarism where we have to kill ourselves by the millions before we have sense.
Restructuring will never work. Break up is the solution. Assuming we have broken up now, can you write any of this thing that you wrote? The North has land, has rivers, has mineral resources. The south has land, has the ocean and has mineral resources. So everyone has something. Even the south can not remain one. It will break into many pieces, as many as is necessary for people to be free, people to have self-determination to take their own destiny into their hands, and as many as it takes to have peace.
For example, the Southwest can't stay as one. There will be problem and conflict and killings. Some want an Islamic caliphate like their Northern counterparts. So for me, like ten Southwest needs to be broken into 3 countries; Atlantic for Christians, O'dua for Pagans and MURIC for Muslims. Then everyone can do whatever they like in their one country without issues. Nobody will say anyone is imposing or blocking their religion, and nobody will use their ideology to enslave another. The same idea applies to other regions in the South as well as the entire North. I guess I know where he is going, and that same mindset is what made some Northern governors to be claiming that Niger Delta oil belongs to them. However, there is something he is missing which I will point out. |
Politics › Re: The North, Not The Niger Delta Is The Source Of Nigeria's Oil by Proeast2: 6:22pm On Oct 07, 2020 |
Ikengawo: It is only ignorance that allows most of what's being said in Nigeria to be said. The issue is the ignorance reaches the highest levels of government. Nigeria, of course, picks it's leadership from prisons (Obasanjo, TA Orji, Buhari) and various international criminal outfits like Tinubu with his Chicago heroine issues and Atiku with his bans from the US for embezzlement.
But one northern politician years ago said that the oil of the Niger Delta belongs to the North and we all, out of ignorance, protested. Anyone that's ready to study, read, and look at the truth has to know; he's right.
1.The Niger Delta's oil doesn't come from the land of the states in the region, but it's access to the oil rich ocean. 2. Ocean property or ownership of the sea is determined by the landmass of a country. Big countries like the US and China have more ocean beyond it's shores than small ones like Denmark. 3. 70% of Nigeria's landmass comes from the North. It is the size of the North (geographically) that allows Nigeria to claim 70% of it's marine territory and this claim is what allows Nigeria to produce almost all of it's oil. 4. If Nigeria loses the north, it's access to oil will drop 50-70% 5. Even with the amount of oil Nigeria gets now, the Niger Delta is still abysmally poor... poorer than the North if you exclude the inland areas like Edo, the Asaba-Agbor axis, , forget the 'megaprojects' of Akwa Ibom illiteracy and poverty are almost exclusively focused in the North and 'South South' of Nigeria.
worst, investors are not interested in Nigeria's inland oil and nobody in the Niger Delta (minus Igbo, Ondo areas) knows how to refine oil, and investors what no business with Nigerian oil, especially Nigerian inland oil. What's your point? |

Christistruth00: It is in the Constitution and it is the same in Alaigbo if you sell your father's land it will revert to his heirs after 99 years. It was put in the Constitution to make sure no Tribe could be dispossessed of their ancestral heritage.
Land rent is paid every year of the 99 year leasehold to the Landowners.
Even in the Bible the Jews never sold ancestral lands they could lease it or give loyal foreigners who settled among them land but they could not sell it .
In NIgeria it is the protection mechanism by which the rich are prevented from dispossessing the poor of their ancestral Lands and heritage and to keep the larger Tribes from dispossessing smaller tribes of their ancestral Land.
Proeast Think about this. If a Politician loots the national treasury and through some crooked Eze's and corrupt uncles buys your entire village your Children will still get the village back after 99 years because it is part of their ancestral inheritance. What are you even arguing? If you check my signature you will see that I'm into estate management and I'm informed about this issue. That law is based on the 1978 land use act. Once a land owner sells a land, that land is forever gone except for one reason or another you're able to buy it back in the future, and of course with the new owner willing to sell it back to you. The 1978 land use act stipulated that all lands are under the authority of state governments. After 99 years, it is the state government that the buyer will pay royalty/renewal fees to and not the original seller. The buyer no longer has any business with him! Does it even make sense to you that someone will buy a virgin land and develop it only for the previous owner to reclaim it after 99 years My brother, please go and hustle like the Igbos so you can buy your own properties. It is only a criminal that will be hoping to take back a land he sold and collected money for. |

The Land still belongs to the Ikwerre Landowners the Property on it is yours for 99 years after which it becomes the Landowners. In fact if you don't pay your land rent for 5 Consecutive years
Ikwerre landowners can take the leasehold away from you because it is their Land.

Fine, we can be good neighbors but to share a country after leaving Nigeria? God forbid! Talking about criminality, we know those that are educationally and business minded and those that are naturally lazy & antisocial. Ask yourself why cultism and kidnapping is rife in the Niger Delta? What made the oil companies to run away from P.H and Warri? Why do White men move about with police & soldiers protecting them like they're in a war zone? Which people pioneered kidnapping in Nigeria? Many years ago when I went to visit my uncle in P.H, my Aunty almost had a heart attack when she saw that I wore black jeans and red T-shirt. She told me that wearing such colors would make Degbam and Dewell cultists to attack me! In my presence, I saw people being attacked & wounded severely in broad day light along Aba road & everyone was going about like it was normal thing! Almost every teenager & young men are all cultists in P.H and gunshots as well as killings is a normal thing. Igbos are ethnically and religiously homogeneous. NaijirianKing: If anything, the Delta Igbos need the East, imagine them being stuck in an Ijaw dominated country. It would be like old Rivers State where the Igbo groups had no pull and were relegated to the back. It was the SE that created Rivers & Bayelsa to give their brethren some breathing room, the last thing Delta Igbos want is to be returned to another situation where they get the hatred for being Igbo without the majority tribe status, that's a net loss for them. If anything, a branch needs the tree to withstand the wind.
In regards to resources, the gas in the SE will generate trillions over the next 80 years, if the nation splits today, this will be exclusively in the hands of the SE, which will hep in creating an economic base for a new nation. Most likely, Akwa Ibom and Cross River, will look to join their brothers in the SE as they did in the past when the SE took the lead to form their own nation. The last thing those groups would want is to be in a nation where Ijaw rule, Despite Asaba being the capital of Delta State for decades now, the succeeding governors from Delta South and Central never did anything tangible there because they were angry that Warri was not made the capital, instead they were channelling resources to other parts of the state including semi rural areas instead of the capital. Asaba had to rely mainly on its proximity to Onitsha to grow, and Igbos made it the Nollywood capital of Nigeria. Today, Asaba is bubbling and a prominent Anioma son even came out openly to say that private Igbo investors East & West of the Niger has helped the city. Even the Asagba of Asaba is a pan Igbo nationalist same as most of their prominent sons & daughters like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Pat Utomi, Tony Elumelu etc. It's only a fraction of them that still believes in their Benin origin myths, & those ones are free to join Benin but Asaba & its environ will always go with East. As for Ikwerre, they've always claimed to be Beni people who lost all their heritage. I'm even happy they won't be coming with us because they've baggages that will distract us. They are sharing P.H with Ijaw people, so they joining us will mean bringing them along which we should avoid totally. P.H and Warri will be flashpoints & coupled with the mangrove terrain of the surrounding areas, these areas will be a haven for rebel movements and instability which will hamper the progress of any nation. For our own good, we will build a high fence after Obigbo. If the Akwa-Cross are passionate on joining us, we can negotiate terms with them as partners, otherwise they should face front.
