the Igbos don't need the SS because they add nothing to us. The SE is not landlocked the azumili river in between akwa ibom and rivers can serve as pathway way to sea the Igbos can easily create a seaport there obuaku in abia state is closer to the sea than Porthacourt yet there is a seaport in PH. if Nigeria break up they won't be any thing like niger Delta republic. Nobody will want to be in an ijaw dominant country the Efik/Ibibio will form their own country and the ijaw and ikwerre will form their niger Delta republic. so nobody can claim the water since it is in-between two countries and since it comes from imo we have the right to dredge it(only to deepen we can't dredge to widen because we will be entering another country's land and we don't need it because the river is big). we have oil but not in large quantities so we won't be oil dependent and Most of Nigeria gas reserves is in imo and abia. And the world is going green due to climate change so very soon oil might become useless. I think is very good because we Igbos are business driven and we understand each other so we can easily develop our country and since the SE is small it won't take us much time and money. If we create a country with the SS it may been a smaller Nigeria and instead of Boko Haram we will have militants and the SS we just be screaming our oil money everyday. and instead of launching satellites we will be trying to stop the ijaw itshekeris and urohobo from killing themselves over who owns warri.

I have always had reservations about a Biafra that would have the Babelian SS in it, especially the present day Rivers, Bayelsa and Riveran Delta. These areas are a flash point and highly volatile. These areas will forever be a red flag and danger zone to any country because rebel movements will always develop there.
Also, the Warri question is yet to be answered. The Itshekiri, Ijaw and Uhrobo will always be at loggerheads there, and I see no solution to that crises.

If our Anioma brothers from Delta are unanimously interested in join us, that will be great, likewise our Asa brothers and others in Rivers, although Obigbo/Oyigbo areas are already fanatical about Biafra and if it comes down to a referendum, they will most likely vote to join us.

The likely scenario or countries that are going to emerge are
1. Biafran; comprising 5 SE States, Anioma and Asa/Obigbo areas of Delta and Rivers states respectively.
2. Akwa-Cross; comprising Cross River and Akwa Ibom.
3. Niger Delta; comprising Rivers State (minus Asa/Obigbo areas), Bayelsa and probably Delta State(minus Anioma).
4. Bendel; Edo State and maybe the entire present Delta State.
5. Oduduwa; comprising all 6 SW States and maybe Okun/Kogi West. They should forget Illorin for obvious reasons.

These are the most realistic countries that would emerge from Southern Nigeria.

Basics like 100% enrolment of children in free government schools with adequate teachers & equipment, 24/7 tap water & electricity, good roads, clinics with enough staff & equipment etc?

Why would you call such great initiative a misplaced priority?! Really?? Firstly, I have never been a fan of Ugwuanyi because I believe he is a mediocre just like Ikpeazu of Abia state. However, this is a noble concept from him. The world is now being propelled digitally and is where the money is now with potentials for job creation.

Cheap and accessible internet connection can lead to a digital revolution in Enugu. Haven't you heard of apps that were developed by young people only to be sold for millions of dollars? What about tech startups? Freelancers? Even down to students conducting research. The potentials are limitless!

Talking about education, enrollment figures in all SE states except maybe Ebonyi, is relatively very high, and government schools from primary to secondary is free the last time I checked.

You can tell him to also work on roads, pipe borne water etc. but please don't condemning such initiative because it's indeed a great idea.

I know a garden in Wuse Two Abuja where hardworking boys live under tents and bridge, those boys smoke weed but they aren't criminals.

They wake up every morning and go and hustle, some work at UTC others work as labourers, delivery personnel, some hawk in traffic but not criminals.

You're right. That area may be home to some miscreants but many law abiding citizens who are either homeless or can't afford to live in decent houses also live there too. Even that huge building in the background is where many homeless people live too. However, majority of them are from Akwa Ibom and Opobo. I know that area very well. Behind it is Waterside and the Aba River.

Lol, I know that notorious area around Enyimba hotel. That place is known as ama nmou in Ogborhill. Lots of Ibibio and Opobo people live in that area and the houses there are mainly shanties

Stop looking at Nigeria through rose tinted glasses. Nigeria is no longer attractive as it used to be, and those countries could care less what happens.

Today, the crude oil that made Nigeria to be so important to US and other world powers has become worthless, with more sellers than buyers available today, worse still, attention has shifted from oil. In essence, Nigeria's greatest bargaining chip is no longer good enough.

Secondly, Nigeria is currently home to millions of refugees, mainly people that were displaced in internal conflicts, and the UN and other global agencies are the ones bearing the brunt!

The other time, Moumar Ghaddafi asserted that the only way peace would reign in Nigeria is by splitting the country into two, one for Christians and one for Muslims. His idea may be simplistic but believe me, UN and others are already considering options for Nigeria's balkanization should things escalate badly.

Just pray that we don't withness any serious crises with potentials for total war, because that's when the UN will finally step in, either during the hostilities or prior to it, and the only outcome will be the dissolution of Nigeria.

1. A young man works for one of the state ministries. His salary is 120K. He makes 15,000 everyday on this desk (N75k a week) engaging in corrupt practices. As a result, he spends the daily cash as he cares. Living large and far above his legitimate income.
2. He visits the local joint every evening and buys drinks for friends, and area boys. They hail him. He is married, but has two girlfriends. His "income" is enough to take care of them. The Asun seller at his favorite joint is happy, the joint owner is happy.

4. Then suddenly the ministry implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) at the beginning of PMB administration. His extra "income" disappeared and he had to adjust to the reality of event and live within his real income. That wasn't easy.
